As of reports published October 1–2, 2026, the project had suffered multiple outages. PC Guide said the original link was unavailable when it updated on October 2, while also reporting alternate links. PC Gamer had earlier described a brief outage after an automatic suspected-phishing flag, followed by the site returning. Because links and availability are volatile, no report guarantees that the port will load for you now. Treat any access link as temporary, and be cautious about unexpected downloads or requests for account details.
What is the browser version?
It is an unofficial browser project based on the original 2001 Xbox release of Halo: Combat Evolved—not the 2003 Gearbox PC version. News reports describe its technical foundation as work from an Xbox decompilation and reverse-engineering project, drawing on native support for Windows, Linux, and Android. How does online multiplayer work?
The reported setup uses rooms rather than conventional matchmaking: one player creates a room and shares its link with others. Club386 says WebRTC handles browser-to-browser traffic. The original Xbox release did not have traditional online multiplayer, according to PC Guide; the browser project recreates a connected-console-style experience over the internet. The 128-player figure is untested
The project advertises capacity for up to 128 multiplayer participants, but the developer’s September 29, 2026 post marked that figure “untested.” Club386 also reported that the creator could not confirm a match at that scale would work correctly. Developer Mitchell Hynes reported nearly 20,000 games across 115 countries and territories in five hours, an average of 94 FPS, and 210,000 Worker requests on September 29, 2026. PC Guide and PC Gamer relayed those figures as developer-reported launch statistics; they are not independently audited traffic data or controlled performance benchmarks.
