Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minutePC Slower Than It Used to Be?
A free scan shows the junk files, broken settings and background clutter dragging Windows down - then fixes them in one click.Free scan · Windows 10 & 11A PC that shuts down during a game may be overheating, losing power, hitting a Windows stop error, or encountering another unstable component. The timing alone does not identify the failed part. First work out whether the computer loses power, restarts, freezes, or shows a blue screen; then use that symptom to guide safe checks before replacing anything.
First identify what “shuts down” means
Note exactly what happens and when. Do the fans and lights go out, does Windows restart, does the image freeze, or does a blue screen display a stop code? Also record whether the problem happens only in demanding games, after a similar amount of play, or since a hardware or software change.
These differences help narrow the next check, but none proves a cause on its own. A full power loss, a restart, and a stop error can leave different clues in Windows.
Check Windows for evidence of an unexpected restart
After Windows starts again, look in Event Viewer for Kernel-Power, Event ID 41. Microsoft explains that Windows logs this event after it starts following an unexpected shutdown or restart. It confirms that the previous shutdown was unclean; it does not, by itself, tell you why it happened. Microsoft’s Event ID 41 guidance notes that the event may reflect an interruption of power or a stop error.

- 【Silent Fan Size】 Model: TL-C12C-S X5, Size: 120*120*25mm, Speed: 1550RPM±10%, Noise ≤ 25.6dBA Connector: 4pin pwm, Current: 0.20A, Air Pressure: 1.53mm H2O, Air Flow: 66.17CFM, Higher air flow for improved cooling performance.
- 【Perfect Match】The PC fan can be used not only as a case fan, but is also suitable for use with a cpu cooler to create a cooling effect together, which can take away the dry heat from the case and the high temperature generated by the CPU in operation, allowing for maximum cooling; Ideal for cases, radiators and CPU coolers.
Open the event’s details and look for a bug-check code, then compare nearby events with what you observed. A zero bug-check code does not prove a power-supply fault: it can occur if power was interrupted or Windows could not finish writing error information. If a blue screen showed a stop code, write it down; Microsoft’s stop-error guidance recommends basic checks such as removing recently added hardware when the issue began after an addition.
Check cooling and airflow
With the PC off, check that its vents are not blocked and that fans appear to operate normally when the machine is running. Consider whether the issue began after a change to the cooling setup or system configuration. Intel lists automatic shutdown, throttling, reduced frequency, and excessive fan noise among possible overheating symptoms, and advises checking the thermal solution. Its advice is aimed at systems with Intel boxed processors; owners of OEM laptops and desktops should follow the computer maker’s service guidance. See Intel’s processor overheating guidance.

Do not apply one universal CPU or GPU temperature limit to every PC. The reviewed guidance does not establish a single safe threshold for all models. Check the specifications and support instructions for your exact computer and components.
Check power requirements before blaming the PSU
Gaming increases system load, so a power-delivery problem is one possibility—but a shutdown during play is not proof that the power supply is faulty. Compare the installed PSU’s specifications with the requirements of the complete system under load, using the PC and component makers’ guidance. Intel includes insufficient PSU wattage under heavy load among possible causes to investigate, and Microsoft also lists an underpowered or faulty PSU as a possible explanation for an unexpected power interruption. Neither source identifies your machine’s specific cause. See Intel’s random reboot and shutdown guidance.

If you use an Intel Arc A770
For gaming-related reboots on an Intel Arc A770, Intel’s model-specific guidance includes checking that drivers are current, reviewing operating temperatures of critical components, verifying PSU requirements, and trying a minimal component configuration. It also describes reseating the graphics card and memory, and gently removing dust or dirt with a soft cloth or compressed air. Try only steps appropriate to your device, skill level, and warranty conditions; consult Intel’s Arc A770 troubleshooting instructions. This list is not general guidance for every graphics card, laptop, or OEM chassis.
If you have another GPU or an OEM computer
Use the graphics-card or computer manufacturer’s instructions rather than assuming the Arc A770 steps apply. In particular, contact the computer manufacturer about overheating on an OEM laptop or desktop, as Intel advises for those systems.

When to stop troubleshooting and get help
If the PC continues to shut down after you have checked airflow, recent changes, Windows records, and the system’s power requirements, seek diagnosis from the manufacturer or a qualified technician. Testing a PSU, cooling system, memory, GPU, or another component may require tools and procedures that are not appropriate for every owner. Avoid repeatedly forcing a shutdown under heavy gaming load, and do not buy replacement parts solely because the fault appears during games.
