Yes. NVIDIA’s RTX 5080-class Blackwell servers are streaming globally on GeForce NOW, but access requires an Ultimate membership and is still subject to game support, regional capacity and server availability. Since April 30, 2026, most games can use RTX 5080 virtual rigs; some titles remain excluded, and a busy nearby server can assign an RTX 4080 rig instead.
What NVIDIA added to GeForce NOW
NVIDIA announced its Blackwell-based cloud upgrade on August 18, 2025, and began rolling it out in September. The service provides access to RTX 5080-class virtual gaming rigs, not a dedicated retail RTX 5080 card for each subscriber. NVIDIA’s announcement attributes 62 teraflops of compute performance and a 48GB frame buffer to the new rigs, alongside DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation, ray tracing, Reflex, and platform and CPU improvements. Those are NVIDIA’s specifications, not independent measurements of every session. NVIDIA’s announcement and its rollout update describe the upgrade.
NVIDIA now says RTX 5080 power is streaming around the world. The important change is not just that the hardware launched: capacity improvements beginning April 30, 2026, expanded RTX 5080 access to most of the game library. The wording is not a guarantee for every title, location or play session. NVIDIA’s server-upgrade page gives the global availability claim; its support article, updated June 4, 2026, explains the remaining limits.
Who can use an RTX 5080 rig?
RTX 5080-class access is exclusive to GeForce NOW Ultimate. A qualifying session also depends on the game and the server you reach: the game must be enabled for RTX 5080, and the connected GeForce NOW data center must support the hardware and have capacity. Your device, display, app and network determine whether you can use the service’s higher resolution and frame-rate modes.

GeForce NOW streams supported games from compatible storefronts and services such as Steam, Xbox/PC Game Pass, GOG and Ubisoft Connect. A subscription generally does not give you ownership of a game; you need access to the particular supported title through its relevant store or service. NVIDIA’s membership page describes supported libraries, while its May 2026 post notes more than 2,000 additional Install-to-Play games. That expansion does not make every PC game available.
What Ultimate costs
NVIDIA’s August 2025 announcement listed U.S. Ultimate pricing at $19.99 per month or $99.99 for six months, and said the Blackwell upgrade would not raise membership prices at that time. It also listed annual Ultimate pricing at $199.99. These are figures from that announcement, not a guarantee of current prices or terms. For comparison, that same announcement listed U.S. Performance pricing at $9.99 monthly or $49.99 for six months. Performance does not include RTX 5080/50-Series-exclusive access. NVIDIA’s current membership page also offers a 24-hour Day Pass and says its cost can be applied toward the first month of membership; it does not provide a single universal Day Pass price in the page text.
What the advertised performance means
NVIDIA advertises Ultimate for up to 5K at 120 frames per second, up to 360 fps at 1080p, and up to 90 fps on Steam Deck using the native client. These are maximum platform capabilities, not frame rates guaranteed in every game or setup. Reaching them requires a compatible title, server, app, display and connection. There are two separate limits to keep in mind:
- Rendering: The remote rig renders the game. The game, settings, server assignment and support for features such as DLSS affect the result.
- Streaming: The rendered video must be encoded, sent over your connection, decoded by your device and displayed. Latency, packet loss, congestion, hardware and screen refresh rate can constrain the experience even when the server is powerful.
DLSS 4 can generate additional displayed frames in supported games; generated frames are not the same as frames rendered natively by the game. Reflex and DLSS do not remove network delay, and a higher displayed frame rate does not automatically mean lower end-to-end input latency. Cinematic Quality Streaming is NVIDIA’s image-quality feature, but compression and connection conditions can still affect clarity and motion.
NVIDIA’s server-upgrade material advertises up to 2.8 times faster frame rates. Treat that as a company claim about its promotional comparison, not a result that every game or player should expect. The same applies to resolution and frame-rate ceilings: a 5K/120 stream requires a compatible output path and sufficient network stability, while 360 fps is useful only with a display and client path able to present it.

Games that NVIDIA lists as not RTX 5080-enabled
Most of the library can use RTX 5080 virtual rigs, subject to availability, but NVIDIA’s support page still lists exceptions. As of its June 4, 2026 update, the excluded titles were:

How to check a game and server before playing
- Confirm your membership: Your account needs an active Ultimate membership for RTX 5080 access.
- Check the game: In the GeForce NOW app, look for the “GeForce RTX 5080 Ready” row. The support page documents this check.
- Check regional status: Visit GeForce NOW server status to see whether supported servers are available. Your nearest server and its current capacity affect assignment.
- Start a session and inspect the rig information: Use the performance or statistics overlay if your client exposes assigned-rig details. The exact overlay label and location vary by client and platform; NVIDIA does not document one universal menu path for every device.
- If you do not get RTX 5080: Check the account tier, game eligibility, selected region and client status. Try another supported game or restart after selecting the closest supported server. If RTX 5080 rigs are full nearby, the service may assign an RTX 4080 rig at that location before trying the next-closest Ultimate server.
A lower-than-expected frame rate can also come from game settings, resolution, a CPU bottleneck, unsupported DLSS or frame generation, or a display refresh-rate limit. For a blurry or laggy stream, test Ethernet or strong 5GHz/6GHz Wi-Fi, reduce stream resolution temporarily, and choose the closest supported server. NVIDIA’s system requirements are the place to check its current connection guidance rather than relying on a generic bandwidth figure.
Is GeForce NOW Ultimate worth it?
Ultimate is most compelling if you own supported PC games but do not have a powerful gaming PC, or want to play on a Mac, Chromebook, Linux computer, lightweight laptop or handheld. It can also make sense if you have a high-refresh or high-resolution display, a nearby supported server, stable low-latency internet and a library centered on games enabled for RTX 5080. NVIDIA announced Linux PC and Amazon Fire TV apps at CES 2026, but the Linux app was described then as entering beta; check NVIDIA’s CES announcement for current availability and compatibility before relying on it.
It is a weaker fit if you already own a high-end gaming PC, have unstable internet or data caps, mainly play excluded games, need mods or local files, or are especially sensitive to input latency. A local PC offers native rendering and offline access, but involves upfront hardware cost, power, cooling and maintenance. Cloud gaming trades that ownership and control for remote access across supported devices.
Before paying specifically for RTX 5080 access, check that your most-played games are eligible and that your region has a suitable server. A Day Pass can reduce the commitment involved in trying the service, but it is temporary access, not a permanent lower-cost plan. NVIDIA’s membership page has current subscription details.
