Yes—Intel Application Optimization (APO) now offers limited support for 12th- and 13th-generation Intel Core processors through APO Advanced Mode. It is not universal validation or a guaranteed performance boost: older systems need Intel Dynamic Tuning Technology (DTT) version 11405 or newer and BIOS support, and Intel warns results on unvalidated configurations can vary or even degrade.
What Intel changed
Intel’s current Application Optimization overview says support has been extended to 12th- and 13th-generation Intel Core processors through APO Advanced Mode. Previously, APO was associated with newer, supported processor and system configurations; the expanded path gives owners of older processors access to optimization options for some games.
This is a qualified expansion, not a statement that every Alder Lake or Raptor Lake system is fully supported. Intel specifies that Advanced Mode for these generations is available only with Intel DTT version 11405 or newer.
What a 12th- or 13th-gen system needs
Before looking for APO settings, check that the system has the required platform support. Intel identifies BIOS enablement and current motherboard BIOS support as prerequisites, alongside DTT 11405 or newer. BIOS and DTT availability is determined by the system or motherboard manufacturer, so the exact update path varies by PC.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Processor: An eligible Intel Core 12th- or 13th-generation processor. Compatibility and the games shown can depend on the exact processor and system configuration.
- BIOS: APO must be enabled in the BIOS, and Intel recommends installing the latest BIOS made available for the motherboard or system.
- Intel DTT: Version 11405 or newer is required for the limited-supported older-generation path.
- Operating system: Intel recommends Windows 11 25H2 or later in its overview.
If DTT or a BIOS option is missing, check the support page for the specific PC or motherboard rather than assuming the processor alone determines availability. OEM systems may use manufacturer-provided drivers and firmware.
What Advanced Mode means for games
APO can show optimized games and let users manage optimization settings for an individual game or globally. The list is not the same for every PC: Intel says game visibility depends on compatibility and performance-uplift criteria for the processor and system configuration.

Advanced Mode may expose additional game titles, but visibility does not mean Intel validated the exact CPU and PC combination. Intel’s Advanced Mode guidance warns that neither the processor nor specific system configuration may have been validated for those titles, and results can vary, including potential performance degradation.
Will APO make games faster on older CPUs?
There is no single guaranteed uplift percentage for all 12th- and 13th-generation processors in Intel’s official material. Any effect is specific to the game and the complete system configuration. A title appearing in Advanced Mode is therefore a reason to test the setting on your own PC, not evidence that a particular frame-rate improvement is assured.

For a meaningful comparison, keep other settings consistent and compare the same game and scene with APO enabled and disabled. If performance or stability worsens, turn off optimization for that game or globally. Do not treat a result from one CPU, motherboard, BIOS, or game as a prediction for another setup.

- The exact processor model and its number of P-cores.
- Whether the motherboard or OEM system has BIOS support and BIOS enablement for APO.
- The installed Intel DTT version.
- Whether the game you care about is listed for that specific configuration.
- Whether the system is validated for the game or the title is only exposed through Advanced Mode.
- Whether the comparison uses stock or overclocked settings.
Intel’s expansion makes APO an option to explore on some 12th- and 13th-gen systems, but the Advanced Mode label and game list should not be read as a system-wide performance promise.
