Yes. Wizards of the Coast announced on Oct. 1, 2026, that it will reopen orders for Secret Lair x MSCHF: The Zeta Set after technical problems disrupted the initial sale. The new window is scheduled for Dec. 9, 2026, and Wizards says it will fulfill every order placed during that 24-hour period. Shipping is expected to start in the second half of 2027.
When can you order The Zeta Set again?
Wizards announced a single 24-hour order window for Dec. 9, 2026, through the Secret Lair online store. The announcement does not specify the window’s opening time or time zone, so check the store and Wizards’ updates for those details as the date approaches. The 24-hour period is the announced ordering window; it does not mean the product will remain available indefinitely.
Wizards says every customer who places an order during the window will have it fulfilled. That is a made-to-order remedy for this announced window, rather than a stated quantity of recovered stock being offered on a first-come, first-served basis. The company said the new orders are expected to begin shipping in the second half of 2027, with more timing details to come closer to the sale. Those are future terms and an estimate from the Oct. 1, 2026 announcement, not a completed sale or confirmed shipping date. Wizards’ Zeta Set update.
What went wrong with the first sale?
Wizards attributed the disruption to an external service issue affecting systems that supported the launch. Its account described a queue that stopped advancing, checkout errors, and confirmation emails that arrived late or did not arrive, leaving customers uncertain for hours about whether their orders had gone through.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.

Matthew Hodgins, the author of the Oct. 1 update, said Wizards paused the queue while backend systems were strained. He estimated that thousands of people spent roughly an extra hour and a half waiting during the pause; after sales resumed, only a few people secured the remaining stock. Those are Wizards’ reported operational details, not independently audited figures. The announcement did not state the total stock, how many orders failed or were canceled, or a quantified demand total.
As Hodgins put it, “A sale isn’t a success just because inventory hits zero.” The company said canceled orders and failed transactions returned some stock, but that amount was far below demand. It concluded that immediately sending customers through another queue would likely reproduce the same problems, and announced the longer order window instead. Read the full announcement from Wizards.

What should customers with an existing preorder do?
In the Oct. 1, 2026 post, Wizards said no Zeta Set orders had shipped and most customers had not been charged. Existing customers who wanted to cancel were instructed to submit a support ticket by Oct. 9, 2026; customers who wanted to keep their order did not need to take action. These instructions describe the terms Wizards gave at the time of that announcement, so customers should consult current support guidance if acting after that date.

No. The Zeta Set update concerns a disrupted sale and a new order window. The Monster Hunter story is a separate Secret Lair issue: on Nov. 26, 2025, Wizards said the planned Secret Lair x Monster Hunter Superdrop fell short of expectations, citing the card selection and how the Monster Hunter world and mechanics were integrated. Wizards said it would postpone and entirely rework that drop, with Capcom’s support, and would provide new details and a release date in 2026. That announcement was about changing the product, not rerunning the Zeta Set sale. Wizards’ Monster Hunter update.
