Expired: QubicGames’ New Year giveaway ran from January 15 through January 25, 2024. It is no longer a way to claim 12 Nintendo Switch games. During the promotion, eligible owners could claim a daily game through the Nintendo eShop, but they first needed a qualifying QubicGames title—and the reported rules required earlier giveaway games to unlock later ones.
How the January 2024 giveaway worked
This was a QubicGames publisher promotion distributed through the Nintendo eShop, not a permanent Nintendo offer or a bundle of 12 unrestricted downloads. The promotion was scheduled to run from January 15 to January 25, 2024. One game was offered per day, with two further entries scheduled for January 25.
Coverage published on January 12, 2024, said participants needed to own at least one of 16 eligible QubicGames titles. It recommended Coloring Book, described then as free to download, as a possible way to meet that requirement. Owners of Coloring Book, Robonauts, Pocket Mini Golf or Puzzle Book were reported to be able to buy qualifying games for about $0.49 during the promotion. That was a period-specific price report, not a universal or current price. Check the listing and displayed price in your own regional eShop before buying. BGR’s January 2024 coverage

What “free” meant—and what it did not
The daily giveaway games were advertised as free during their designated claim windows for eligible participants. Getting access was not automatically cost-free: a player needed a qualifying QubicGames entitlement, and some qualifying purchases were reportedly discounted rather than free. The offer is best understood as free daily claims for eligible owners, with a possible cost to enter or catch up—not 12 free games for everyone.

The daily chain and missed days
According to the January 2024 coverage, users needed to own each earlier giveaway game to download the next one. That made the offer a ladder rather than 12 independent claims. If someone missed a day, the reported way to catch up was to buy the missed game at the applicable reduced price, then continue while the campaign remained active. Both the daily claims and that catch-up route were time-limited; neither can now be used to reopen the 2024 offer.

How to check the games now
- On your Switch, open the Nintendo eShop using the Nintendo Account whose region you want to check.
- Search for each game by its exact title and inspect the listing, price and availability shown in that eShop.
- If a game is unavailable or its price differs from an old promotion report, do not assume that the historical offer still applies. Availability and pricing can vary by region and date.
- Treat any current QubicGames discount as a separate offer. The publisher’s later anniversary page, for example, describes a different promotion: QubicGames’ 21st-anniversary page.
QubicGames’ corporate materials list Nintendo Switch releases by territory, including U.S., European and Japanese markets, so the original coverage does not support a claim that the giveaway worked worldwide at identical prices. Check your Nintendo Account country or region and local eShop listings. QubicGames territory materials
