Check Fortnite’s current quests and announcements before relying on any claimed unlock method.
Which Sidekick should you choose?
Sidekicks are cosmetic companions that can join you in supported Fortnite experiences and react to the world. Epic’s first announced lineup gives you several distinct looks to consider; it does not establish that every Sidekick is available to buy now.

Choose by the companion’s look and character type rather than presumed gameplay advantages: the cited material describes Sidekicks as companions and cosmetics, not as a source of combat benefits.
What is—and is not—confirmed about Jimothy?
The official sources reviewed do not establish Jimothy’s unlock method or whether his unlock window remains open on October 3, 2026. In particular, Epic’s October 2026 Fortnitemares update describes the Dumpster Dive Sprite as a gameplay Sprite that finds restorative food in a hiding spot; it does not connect that Sprite to Jimothy. To verify Jimothy before pursuing an alternative, check Fortnite’s current quests and any in-game deadline or requirement shown there, then look for a direct Epic announcement. A claim that does not appear in those sources remains unverified.
Check availability before spending V-Bucks
Epic announced the original release routes in 2025: Peels was scheduled for the Battle Pass on November 1, while Bonesy, Spike, and Lil’ Raptor were scheduled for the Item Shop on November 7; eligible owners of the Bonesy Back Bling were also due to receive Bonesy. Bonesy’s listed 1,200 V-Bucks price is not proof that it is currently purchasable. Check the in-game Item Shop for the live listing and price in your region before budgeting for any Sidekick. Shop availability can change.

Epic Support says a Sidekick’s physical appearance can be customized one time after obtaining it; the appearance becomes permanent once locked in. If you own copies, each must have a unique appearance. Names and accessories are separate choices and can be changed. Because the physical customization is a one-time choice, settle on the look you want before locking it in. You can still change the Sidekick’s name and accessories afterward.
Where Sidekicks work
Epic lists Sidekicks as supported in Battle Royale, Save the World, LEGO Fortnite Odyssey, Fortnite Festival, and developer-made experiences. In a creator-made island, the creator must enable Sidekicks; Epic’s support guidance states, “Sidekicks can only tag along with you if the Island Developer has enabled Sidekicks in their island.” Epic Player Support: cosmetic compatibility.
Epic also announced in June 2026 that creators can use Fortnite Sidekicks through UEFN’s NPC Spawner, with restrictions for licensed Sidekicks. That is creator functionality, not a player acquisition route. Epic’s UEFN announcement.
