Embark says accounts caught using known cheat programs in ARC Raiders will now receive permanent bans, with “no warnings, no second chances.” The studio’s September 30, 2026 anti-cheat update also describes restrictions on game licenses and evidence-dependent hardware bans. It does not confirm that every suspected player is banned immediately, or that its Elytra anti-cheat system is already running in ARC Raiders.
What Embark’s ban policy says
In an official update dated September 30, 2026, Embark says it had been too cautious about issuing permanent bans to first-time cheaters. It now describes permanent bans as standard for known cheat programs. “Any account caught using cheats is permanently banned,” writes Aleks, adding: “No warnings, no second chances.” Read Embark’s anti-cheat update.
The statement also says the studio has improved its identification and sanctioning of accounts involved in economy exploits. It does not give a tally of bans or a measured cheating rate for the game.
Which parts of play can be restricted?
Embark describes several enforcement measures. They affect different things, and the announcement does not explain every circumstance in which each might be applied.

| Measure | What Embark says it restricts | What the update says triggers it |
|---|---|---|
| Account ban | The account is permanently banned. | Embark says accounts caught using cheats, including known cheat programs, are permanently banned. |
| Game-license restriction | A specific sanctioned copy of the game cannot be used with another account; an account ever associated with a banned copy will also receive a permanent ban. | Association with a copy of the game that has been banned. Embark does not spell out every possible association scenario. |
| Hardware ban | The game can be prevented from running on a machine. | Embark says it applies this when there is enough evidence that the machine was used for cheating. |
These are Embark’s stated policies, not a complete description of how its systems determine that an account, license, or machine is linked to cheating.
Why a ban may not happen as soon as something looks suspicious
Embark says it does not permanently ban players on a single suspicious signal. “Anti-cheat systems can’t simply ban a player the moment something looks suspicious,” Aleks writes. The studio says its systems analyze behavior across multiple instances to reach a high degree of certainty before issuing a permanent ban.

Embark also says its team reviews videos and streams and acts when they provide clear evidence of cheating. That is the studio’s account of its process; the update does not provide independent accuracy data, a false-positive rate, or a typical time from detection to sanction.
Hardware bans: broader coverage is still in progress
Embark says it recently lowered the threshold for applying hardware bans and is working on a solution that would let it target more systems. It hopes to implement that broader approach “later in the year,” but the update gives no specific date. Its statement makes clear that machine-level restrictions depend on having enough evidence, rather than being automatic whenever an account is banned.

Elytra is not confirmed for ARC Raiders
Embark says Elytra is being tested on a small scale in THE FINALS and that it is working toward being able to test the system in ARC Raiders. The update does not say Elytra is deployed in ARC Raiders or give a date for a test there.

The update is a statement of Embark’s current enforcement policy and its intended direction. It does not report how many players have been banned, how common cheating is, or how effective the measures have been. GamesRadar+ also reported on the stricter-ban announcement, but its coverage is not a separate measurement of cheating prevalence or enforcement outcomes. GamesRadar+’s report on the announcement.
