Derby Stallion 2 for Switch 2 led Famitsu’s Japanese software chart for September 21–27, 2026, with an estimated 29,336 copies. Switch 2 also topped the weekly hardware chart at 32,198 units. Famitsu published the results on October 1, 2026.
How to read Famitsu’s weekly sales figures
Famitsu describes the chart as “weekly estimated sales of game software and hardware.” Its official report says the figures are estimates based on information available when the results were compiled. Software estimates include packaged software, download cards and versions preinstalled on consoles; they are not audited final totals or a complete accounting of digital sales. Famitsu’s official report covers the week of September 21–27, 2026.

What stands out in the software chart
Derby Stallion 2 takes the top spot
The Switch 2 release opened at No. 1 with 29,336 estimated copies after launching September 24. It was the week’s highest-ranked new release. The next two places went to Rhythm Heaven Groove, which added 27,309 to a cumulative 1,049,922, and Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, with 26,728 for the week and 153,859 cumulatively.

New releases fill several high positions
SILENT HILL: Townfall debuted fourth on PS5 with 13,596. Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age S for Switch 2 placed fifth with 10,844. Both launched September 24, the same date as Derby Stallion 2.
EA SPORTS FC 27 appears on two platforms
The PS5 entry ranked sixth at 9,873, while the Switch 2 entry ranked ninth at 5,952. Added together, those two chart entries equal 15,825 estimated copies; that is a calculation from the platform rows, not a separate figure published by Famitsu. Both versions released September 25.

More than half of the top ten is on Switch 2
Switch 2 games occupied five of the ten chart positions, including the top and third places. This describes only the entries in this week’s software ranking; it does not establish market share, consumer preference or why any title sold at a particular level.

Switch 2 is listed separately from the Switch-family subtotal and led the hardware chart with 32,198 units. The model and family results are weekly estimates; a single week’s ranking does not explain the causes of sales changes or establish longer-term platform preference. Gematsu’s English-language report reproduces the chart and includes ranks 11–30.

Famitsu said positions 11 and below would be published separately on its game-sales ranking page from October 2 onward. Gematsu subsequently added ranks 11–30 to its report.
