In-game dialogue connects Silverwing to the swallows, but the poem does not spell out every image or confirm a new plot development.
What happens in “The Swallows Return” teaser?
The video is presented as Story Teaser: The Swallows Return. Its accompanying poem begins with questions about where swallows will return and meet, then shifts to waking from dreams, a parted jade pin, dark birds flying away and drifting clouds. Traveler.gg reproduces the teaser poem as: “Where shall they return? The swallows nest together. Whither shall they meet? The silver lamps glimmer. I wake from dreams. The jade pin parted, the dark birds flown, the clouds they drift on by.”
The sequence suggests a change from the hope of return or reunion to separation and departure. That reading follows the poem’s images; it is not a confirmed explanation of the jade pin, the identity of every bird, or the teaser’s complete story.
Who are Silverwing and the swallows?
Archived dialogue from the in-game quest “Having Met You, My Heart is Gladdened” gives Silverwing a direct connection to the birds. Zhongli explains: “Silverwing is an adeptus born from the spiritual energy of heaven and earth. The swallows soaring above were her living embodiments, as well as the very wellspring of her power.” The archived dialogue establishes Silverwing’s nature and the swallows’ role in her power; it does not, by itself, decode every image in the teaser poem.

The journey in the Archon War
The same quest dialogue places a perilous journey from Chenyu Vale to Guyun Stone Forest during the Archon War. Many swallows were bound to perish along the way. This lore gives the teaser’s swallows a history of danger and loss, while leaving the poem’s particular references open to interpretation. The archived quest account is the source for this journey context.
When was the teaser released, and what does it announce?
Contemporaneous secondary coverage dates the teaser’s release to October 2, 2026, and links it to the Version 7.1 event Silverwing in Pursuit of the Moon. RYGAMES Newsroom reported the date and event context. Games and Chill’s report says the announcement it reviewed did not name a quest or provide a follow-up date; that describes that announcement, not a guarantee about later updates.
