RetroSpace launched on October 1, 2026, for PC via Steam, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. Developed by The Wild Gentlemen and published by Kwalee, it is a single-player disco-punk space horror game built around stealth, combat and flexible problem-solving aboard a station swallowed by a sentient black hole.
When did RetroSpace come out?
RetroSpace was released on October 1, 2026. Steam, Xbox and PlayStation all list that date, so the game is already available rather than awaiting a future launch. Steam, Xbox Store and the US PlayStation Store list the game for their respective platforms.
What platforms is RetroSpace on?

The official storefront listings establish these three options. They do not confirm a Nintendo Switch 2 version or availability on other consoles. The stores list digital editions; a Deluxe Edition on Steam includes the game and an artbook item, but that listing does not establish a printed artbook or physical game release.

What kind of game is RetroSpace?
Steam classifies RetroSpace as single-player. The developer describes it as a disco-punk space horror immersive sim, set aboard the Aurora 5, a station caught in a sentient black hole. Its official premise places the story in 2177: humanity’s AURORA fleet is searching for a new home, mutants roam the station, and Aurora 5 shifts between two time periods. You play a janitor trying to escape and discover what happens next.
Stealth, combat and environmental problem-solving
The game presents alternatives to simply fighting every threat. Players can hide, divert enemies, set traps, look for concealed routes, exploit hazards in the environment, hack or turn station security against foes, or attack directly. These approaches share an emphasis on using the station and its systems to solve problems.

An interconnected station to explore
The developer describes Aurora 5 as an open, connected environment with shortcuts and secret paths that link back to previously visited areas. Exploration therefore includes finding routes through the station, not just moving from one isolated encounter to the next.
Mutamods, cloning and lost equipment
Mutamods are mutations that can improve stealth, combat, exploration or mobility, but the developer warns that upgrades can also have side effects. Death brings a cloning mechanic: players return as a clone and must recover equipment from a previous body.
