Black Lantern Collective announced the game with a reveal trailer on October 2, 2026, and lists a planned PC release in Q1 2027.
What the reveal trailer introduces
Developed by Chris Miluski, also known as cmski, and published by Black Lantern Collective, Your Debt Is Paid puts the player in a forced bargain: gather Blood in dangerous dungeons and use it to satisfy a captor’s escalating demand—or risk permanent death. The publisher’s announcement and reveal trailer present the game as a roguelike built around survival, resource management, and choices about when to retreat or press on.
The trailer’s framing is part of the hook: the publisher describes the game as a forgotten 1990s cartridge, with detailed character art, CRT effects, and dark fantasy horror. That is a visual premise, not confirmation of a physical cartridge edition.
Blood makes every run a tradeoff
Blood is both the means of repayment and the resource used to make a character stronger. The publisher says players can spend it on stat improvements and items, but holding it back helps meet the debt. Spending for immediate power may make deeper dungeon progress more manageable; saving for the captor may leave less room to improve or equip the character. The announcement describes the debt as ever-increasing, making that balance an ongoing run decision rather than a one-time payment.

Retreating and continuing are also consequential choices, according to the publisher. The announcement does not specify a detailed penalty system or exact repayment schedule, so the practical stakes beyond the stated risk of permanent death have not been established.
How combat and character building work
Combat is described as automatic: rather than directing each attack, players focus on decisions and build choices. The announced build ingredients are races, classes, relics, and enhancements. The publisher also lists unlockable Heroes, Bloodlines, Realms, and Ascension Levels; these are announced features, not independently verified gameplay systems.

Black Lantern Collective lists Your Debt Is Paid for PC with a planned Q1 2027 release. That is a target window, not a confirmed launch date. The announcement gives no exact release day, price, or minimum PC specifications.

There is also an earlier, separate version by Cmski on itch.io. Its page lists it as playable in HTML5 and made for the Creepy Clicker Horror Game Jam 2026. It should not be confused with the forthcoming full PC release.
