2027 Lamborghini Temerario Review: Quick Drive

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The 2027 Lamborghini Temerario is ferociously fast, easier to use on the road than its performance suggests, and a major change from the Huracán it replaces: its naturally aspirated V10 gives way to a twin-turbo V8 hybrid. In CarExpert’s Australian-market quick drive, the trade-off was clear: immense pace and a huge rev range, but less of the old car’s aural theatre at ordinary road speeds.

What is the 2027 Lamborghini Temerario?

The Temerario takes over the junior-supercar role from the Huracán. Its powertrain pairs a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 with three electric motors. Lamborghini’s current model page quotes 920 CV (677 kW) combined output, a 343 km/h top speed and 0–100 km/h in 2.7 seconds. Those are manufacturer figures, not results from an independent instrumented test. Lamborghini’s Temerario specifications also list an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The V8 alone produces 800 CV between 9,000 and 9,750 rpm and 730 Nm from 4,000 to 7,000 rpm, according to Lamborghini’s 2026 Temerario brochure. Its high-rev character is central to the car’s appeal, but the hybrid system changes the sound and feel of the experience compared with the Huracán’s naturally aspirated V10.

What was the quick drive like?

Josh Nevett, CarExpert’s Deputy Road Test Editor, drove the Australian-market Temerario at Vairano Proving Ground in Milan. The short drive included drifting, drag racing and dynamic driving, so it gives a sense of performance and handling in a controlled setting—not a verdict on long-term ownership or everyday driving over thousands of kilometres.

Speed and revs are the headline attractions

CarExpert praised the car’s performance and the V8’s ability to rev beyond 10,000 rpm. The quoted 2.7-second 0–100 km/h time is Lamborghini’s claim; the drive was not presented as an independent timing test. At the engine’s upper reaches, the Temerario offers a different kind of drama from the Huracán’s V10. At more ordinary road speeds, the review found its sound less compelling than the old car’s.

Road manners come with a size caveat

CarExpert described the Temerario as more manageable in road-oriented settings, with light steering and soft suspension in Strada mode. But the reviewer also found it larger than the Huracán and rivals, which made narrow roads feel less relaxed than a circuit. The drive supports a picture of a supercar with accessible road manners, not proof of comfort on a long trip.

What is the cabin and storage like?

CarExpert’s equipment description identifies three screens, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Sonus Faber sound system and Lamborghini Vision Unit. It also reports 112 litres of storage under the bonnet, plus room for soft bags behind the seats. The review notes that cupholders are not standard in the equipment discussed, and that the optional comfort seats may not suit taller occupants.

These details describe the reviewed Australian-market equipment and configuration; equipment can vary by specification. A brief drive cannot establish how practical the cabin will feel over regular commuting or a long journey.

How much does the Temerario cost in Australia?

CarExpert listed the 2027 Temerario at A$613,885 before on-road costs in its 2026 Australian review. That is an article-date local price, not a universal price or a current transaction quote. The review said a few selected options could take the car well beyond A$800,000 on road.

Options can substantially change the bill. CarExpert cited A$85,410 for the Alleggerita package and A$48,000 for carbon-fibre wheels. Those are article-reported Australian prices and should be confirmed with a local dealer because specifications and pricing can change.

How does it compare with alternatives?

CarExpert names the Ferrari 296 GTB, McLaren 750S, Porsche 911 Turbo S and Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray as alternatives. The listed prices below come from the review and use different cost bases, so they are not directly comparable as drive-away prices.

Model Australian price cited by CarExpert Price basis
Lamborghini Temerario A$613,885 Before on-road costs
Ferrari 296 GTB A$604,000 Before on-road costs
McLaren 750S A$580,163 Excluding on-road costs
Porsche 911 Turbo S A$577,300 Plus on-road costs
Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray From A$292,900 Plus on-road costs

Price alone does not settle the comparison. Buyers should also weigh each car’s powertrain, sound and driving character, daily comfort and storage, and which options are needed to reach their preferred specification. Lamborghini’s quoted output and acceleration are manufacturer claims; they should not be compared as though they were measured by the same method as independent rival tests.

What are the Temerario’s fuel and electric figures?

CarExpert’s Australian review lists a 3.8-kWh lithium-ion battery, all-wheel drive, an 11 km electric range, claimed fuel economy of 11.2 L/100 km and a requirement for 98-octane premium unleaded. It also describes an EV mode and says the front axle can provide electric drive. These are details reported in the Australian review, not a guarantee of real-world range or consumption.

Lamborghini’s 2026 brochure presents separate figures for different regions and test cycles. For Europe, it gives weighted combined WLTP consumption of 4.3 kWh/100 km plus 11.2 L/100 km, 272 g/km of CO₂, and 14.0 L/100 km with the battery discharged. For the US, it lists EPA estimates of 24 MPGe combined (electricity and gasoline) and 16 mpg combined (gasoline only). These disclosures use different measures and should not be combined into one universal economy figure.

What should a short drive not be taken to prove?

The Vairano outing shows how the Temerario performs during a short, controlled drive; it does not establish long-term reliability, real-owner running costs, charging experience across markets or comfort on extended journeys. The performance numbers are manufacturer specifications, while the impressions about sound, steering, suspension, size and seat fit belong to CarExpert’s reviewer.

For buyers considering accessories, Lamborghini’s 2026 brochure lists an infotainment screen protector, premium cover, battery maintainer, parking cushions, an emergency and first-aid kit, and charging equipment. It specifies Bridgestone Potenza Sport tyres in 255/35 ZR20 front and 325/30 ZR21 rear sizes. Local availability and exact model-year compatibility should be confirmed before purchase.
