When does Gears of War: E-Day release?
The Coalition lists the worldwide launch for Gears of War: E-Day as October 6, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. Pacific Time (15:00 UTC). Premium Edition players and Game Pass subscribers with the Premium Upgrade were eligible for worldwide early access beginning October 1 at the same time. The September 17 Xbox Wire update says Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members could join on October 6.

Platforms and subscription access
The Coalition lists Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC and Steam as platforms. It separately lists cloud gaming through Game Pass Ultimate and GeForce NOW, so cloud access should not be confused with a native platform listing. The September 17 Xbox Wire update identifies day-one access through Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass; check the current listing for eligibility and regional availability.
Story and modes
E-Day is an origin story set fourteen years before the original Gears of War. It follows Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago as the Locust emerge and the Locust War begins. Xbox Wire describes campaign play solo, in two-player split-screen or with up to four players online, alongside Horde Siege PvE and Versus PvP. Its showcase feature specifies Horde Siege as a 12-player PvE mode and Versus as 4v4.

What comes with the Gears of War: E-Day Collector’s Edition?
Xbox says the Collector’s Edition includes the Xbox Series X Premium Edition game disc, a 15-inch Marcus-and-Dom statue, SteelBook, replica COG tags, replica photograph and a Feral Wretch art print. It also includes Premium Edition digital bonuses. Xbox said it launched October 1 with early access; quantities are limited and availability varies by region, so current stock and listing status need to be checked with the retailer.

Xbox’s October 1 launch post also named an E-Day Limited Edition Xbox Wireless Controller, an 8BitDo controller dock with an October 9 target launch, and The Art and Making of Gears of War: E-Day from Insight Editions, described by Xbox as the official companion book.
