In The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered, Roach has a new Horse control input sensitivity slider. Find it under Settings → Controls and adjust it to your preference. CD PROJEKT RED also lists updated collision avoidance while riding Roach, but has not published a recommended sensitivity, slider range, or default value.
Where to change horse-control sensitivity
- Open the game’s Settings.
- Select Controls.
- Find Horse control input sensitivity and move the slider to suit your preference.
The setting’s location and name are given in CD PROJEKT RED’s Remastered feature announcement. The announcement does not specify a numeric range or default, so there is no confirmed universal setting to recommend. Try an adjustment and judge it in play rather than relying on an unverified number.
What changed for Roach
CD PROJEKT RED lists two horse-related changes: the new sensitivity slider and updated collision avoidance while riding Roach. The publisher does not quantify the collision-avoidance change or claim that the slider changes Roach’s animations or guarantees better handling. New Geralt and Roach animations are also part of the Remastered release, but they are a separate feature.
Controls vary by platform
The Remastered release is identified for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Check the in-game controls display on your platform for the current button mapping; the feature announcement does not provide a complete platform-by-platform horse control map.

The official PlayStation 4 manual is a legacy reference: it describes steering with the left stick and calling the horse with a double-press. Those instructions do not establish the current Remastered mapping on every platform. CD PROJEKT RED’s PC support page lists peripherals including partial Xbox One controller support and PlayStation 4 controllers, but that older page may not cover every current device or setup.
Remastered availability and upgrades
CD PROJEKT RED’s release announcement identifies PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 availability. It says eligible existing owners on GOG, Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S receive a free Remastered upgrade. Eligibility and platform matter, so check the publisher’s announcement for your ownership situation rather than assuming a purchase is required.
