Nomion Games has named Croatian 3D artist Space Meerkat art director of Rush is Real, its upcoming shooter for PC and consoles. In reports published October 1 and 2, 2026, the artist described a concrete-heavy, industrial visual direction, with futuristic and cyberpunk elements layered over brutalist structures. The studio has not announced a release timeline or disclosed the game’s core mechanic.
What Nomion Games has revealed
Nomion Games announced Space Meerkat’s appointment and shared an initial look at Rush is Real, according to But Why Tho? and Inven Global. The reports identify the project as an upcoming shooter for PC and consoles. They do not provide a more specific platform list.
Creative Director Jean Tyulegenov reportedly contacted Space Meerkat through Instagram after seeing his work. Tyulegenov described the connection to But Why Tho?: “But when I saw Space Meerkat’s work, it felt to me like he was looking at the world through my eyes. Perhaps that’s why our collaboration turned out to be so natural.”
The art direction: industrial first, futuristic second
Space Meerkat’s stated priority is to make the world feel grounded and industrial rather than led by neon futurism. In an interview with Inven Global, he summed up the approach as: “Industrial first, futuristic second.” The reports describe a mix of cyberpunk styling and brutalist architecture, including raw concrete and imposing structures.

The city and cultural references are inputs to the art direction, not confirmation that the game faithfully depicts real-world locations. Space Meerkat told Inven Global: “We will take city layouts from Chongqing and Hong Kong, clothing styles from Tokyo, and architecture from Seoul.” The reports also describe Asian and Eastern European influences, without specifying further details about the latter.
How vertical environments may support play
The artist has framed dense, multi-level spaces as more than a visual choice. In the Inven Global interview, he said that different levels within a large structure could create distinct opportunities for exploration and loot. His explanation of the intended relationship between systems and setting was: “The systems and the world don’t conflict with each other — on the contrary, they reinforce one another.”
