Before you start: check YouTube eligibility and your JioFiber terms
Confirm that your channel can go live
YouTube says a channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. First-time live-streaming access can take up to 24 hours to enable, and YouTube’s current help page says streamers must be at least 16 years old. Check your channel’s eligibility before configuring the encoder: YouTube’s live-streaming requirements.
Check the plan and permitted use for your address
Confirm the plan and service terms for the JioFiber installation address. Jio’s Mumbai plan page, for example, lists plans including 30 Mbps, 100 Mbps, 150 Mbps and 300 Mbps, and describes symmetric upload and download speeds for the plans shown there. That is a location-specific example, not a promise about every JioFiber address or plan: Jio’s Mumbai broadband plans.

Measure the upload capacity you can actually sustain
A plan’s advertised speed is not a measurement of stable upload capacity at the encoder. Run an upload-speed test from the computer and network path you intend to use—wired Ethernet if that is your planned setup, or the actual Wi-Fi connection otherwise. Test at representative times, especially when other people or devices may share the connection. Do not use download speed as a substitute for upload speed.
YouTube recommends leaving about 20% of network bandwidth in reserve above the stream’s bitrate. The available upload rate should be stable enough to carry the video bitrate plus that margin, with additional room for other network activity. If results vary, choose a lower bitrate or resolution rather than configuring the stream to use nearly all the measured capacity. Choose a resolution and bitrate conservatively
YouTube’s published recommendations for H.264 include the following settings. They are platform guidance, not a guarantee that a JioFiber line will sustain them at a particular address; use a lower setting if your measured upload fluctuates.

For example, a 10 Mbps video bitrate calls for about 12 Mbps of available network bandwidth when applying YouTube’s roughly 20% headroom guidance. That is a planning calculation, not an upload-speed result. The encoder’s output should match the resolution and frame rate you choose; raising resolution or frame rate without sufficient upload stability can lead to buffering, dropped frames or a broken stream. Create the YouTube encoder stream and connect it
- Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room. Create or schedule a stream for encoder-based streaming, following the flow in YouTube’s encoder setup guide.
- Copy the server URL and stream key. Enter both in your encoder’s streaming settings. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it or share it. If it is exposed, reset it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- Use RTMPS where your encoder supports it. YouTube recommends RTMPS for encrypted transmission to its servers. Select the matching server address and protocol in the encoder rather than mixing settings from different stream configurations.
- Set the encoder’s output. Choose the resolution, frame rate and bitrate your measured connection can support. Use H.264 settings that align with YouTube’s published guidance and leave upload headroom.
- Set the video source to repeat. A 24/7 loop requires an encoder or service with a looping source and controls that keep the content playing. The exact controls differ by encoder; check that encoder’s current documentation for how to loop a file or playlist and what happens when an item ends. YouTube’s generic encoder workflow does not establish controls for a particular program or guarantee that its source will loop continuously.
Test the stream and plan for interruptions
Start with a private or unlisted test, check the preview and YouTube’s stream-health indicators, and confirm that the source continues through the end of a loop. Watch for unstable bitrate, dropped frames and warnings before making the broadcast public. YouTube recommends testing the full setup and, if using encoder failover, simulating a failure by stopping the primary encoder or disconnecting its Ethernet cable.
A JioFiber connection, like any internet connection, can be disrupted. YouTube’s guidance is direct: “A disruption on your connectivity could mean a broken stream.” Keep other uploads and streams from saturating the line, and decide in advance what you will do if the encoder, router, power or ISP connection stops. A UPS sized to the actual router and computer load may help during a short power interruption; it cannot prevent an ISP outage, fiber damage or encoder failure.

Do not rely on a single 24/7 stream for a complete YouTube archive
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Its guidance does not promise a complete archive for one continuous 24/7 broadcast, so do not assume the whole day will be saved as a single video. If you need a recording, arrange a separate local recording and choose an event or session strategy that fits the archive you need. YouTube’s encoder guide explains its archive guidance.
