How to Stream Relaxing Music With Nature Footage on YouTube Live

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

To stream relaxing music with nature footage on YouTube Live, combine a local video and audio source in OBS Studio, connect OBS to a YouTube Live event with its stream URL and key, then check the full stream in YouTube’s preview before making it public. The essential preparation is clearing rights for both the music and footage: a license may not prevent a live interruption unless the rights holder also allowlists your channel through Content ID.

Before you set up the stream

Check that your channel can go live

YouTube’s current guidance says a channel must be verified and have no live-stream restrictions in the previous 90 days. The minimum age to stream is 16. First-time live-stream enablement can take up to 24 hours, so turn it on well before your planned broadcast. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.

Clear rights for the audio and visuals

You need permission for the music and footage to be used in a YouTube live broadcast and, if you plan to keep the replay, in archived content too. YouTube’s live-stream terms say creators warrant that they have all necessary rights to exploit live and archived content on Google services, including music licensing rights.

Check the provider’s terms for livestreaming, archived replays, territories, monetization, edits and loops, and Content ID handling. Keep copies of licenses and permissions. “Royalty-free,” attribution, prior use in a video, or availability in a library does not by itself establish permission for a continuous livestream and its archive.

  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If a licensed track is detected, ask the rights holder to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. YouTube warns that a stream can still be interrupted even when you have a license if your channel is not allowlisted. A detected match can lead to a placeholder; if you do not address a warning, the stream may be interrupted or terminated. Claims on an archived live stream may also arise after the broadcast ends. Details: YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.

Build the music-and-nature scene in OBS

For a pre-recorded nature scene with music, a computer and an encoder are the straightforward route. OBS Studio is free, open-source software that can be used commercially; it does not grant rights to any media you add. Its Help Portal and media-source guide explain source setup. Interface labels can vary by version.

  1. Prepare your media. Choose local video and audio files whose formats OBS supports. Decide whether you want one continuous audiovisual file or separate video and music sources. A single combined file can simplify synchronization; separate sources let you change the music independently.
  2. Create a scene. In OBS, add a Media Source for the nature footage. Add the audio as a media source as well, or use a video file that already contains its soundtrack. If you want a playlist, OBS’s VLC Video source can loop and shuffle a playlist when VLC is installed.
  3. Set looping and verify the mix. Enable looping for a single clip, or configure the playlist behavior you want. Play the scene locally and check that the audio is audible, not clipping, and aligned with the footage. Watch a transition between clips to catch black frames, pauses, or abrupt audio cuts before broadcasting.
  4. Keep sources dependable. Store the files somewhere the computer can read throughout the stream, and avoid moving or renaming them after setup. If using a playlist, test every item and its transition, not just the first clip.

Create a YouTube Live event and connect OBS

  1. Open YouTube Studio and create or schedule a live stream. Choose the event’s visibility and other settings for your intended audience. YouTube documents encoder-based setup in Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
  2. Copy the server URL and stream key from the event’s encoder settings. In OBS, open Settings → Stream, select YouTube as the service, and enter the event’s server URL and stream key if using a custom server/key configuration. Keep the key private: anyone who has it may be able to send a feed to your event. If it is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio.
  3. Start the OBS feed and inspect YouTube’s Live Control Room preview. Do not assume that seeing a moving preview means the public event is ready. Confirm that both the image and sound arrive, the correct event is selected, and the event is accessible to its intended audience.
  4. Start the event from YouTube Studio only after the preview and stream health look right. The encoder sends the feed; YouTube Studio controls the event’s broadcast state. Follow the on-screen controls for the event you created.

Choose stable video, audio and network settings

Start with settings your computer and connection can sustain continuously. YouTube’s encoder settings guidance lists H.264 video, AAC or MP3 audio, CBR bitrate encoding, and a recommended two-second keyframe frequency that should not exceed four seconds. Use the current YouTube table for the bitrate appropriate to your chosen resolution and ingestion method rather than relying on an old tutorial’s fixed figure. YouTube transcodes live streams into multiple output formats.

Measure the total outgoing bitrate, including audio and any backup stream where applicable. YouTube recommends upload bandwidth with a 20% margin above that total. Shared Wi-Fi or a busy household connection can reduce the upload capacity actually available to OBS, so test under realistic conditions and leave extra room where possible. See YouTube’s streaming tips.

Test the complete broadcast before going public

YouTube recommends testing before going live with sound and motion similar to the real broadcast. Use a private or unlisted test when appropriate, and make sure the actual event’s visibility is suitable before the public stream begins.

  1. Run the real footage and music through OBS, then check the Live Control Room preview for both picture and sound.
  2. Watch at least one loop transition and listen for gaps, abrupt restarts, level changes, or audio drifting out of sync.
  3. Check the event from the channel or watch page, including on a phone if your audience may watch there. Confirm the intended viewers can access it.
  4. Monitor stream health, dropped frames, audio and video during the test and the real broadcast. YouTube’s computer livestreaming tips also recommend checking that a local archive file is growing and intact if you are recording one.
  5. After ending the event in YouTube, stop the encoder. If you keep an archive, inspect the local recording and remember that a Content ID claim may arrive after the livestream ends.

Troubleshooting common problems

YouTube interrupts the stream or shows a copyright warning

A third-party match may have been detected even if you hold a license. Contact the rights holder and request Content ID allowlisting for your channel; also confirm that the license covers live use and any replay. Follow the warning in YouTube Studio rather than repeatedly restarting with the same material.

The preview has video but no music

Check that the correct audio source is active in OBS, its volume is not muted or effectively silent, and the file plays locally. If the video file contains its own soundtrack, confirm that OBS is capturing that source. Re-test in the Live Control Room, where you can verify what YouTube actually receives.

The stream buffers, drops frames or loses connection

The encoder may be sending more data than the available upload capacity can sustain, especially on a shared connection. Lower the output bitrate or resolution, reduce competing network traffic, and test again with the recommended 20% upload margin above total bitrate.

The playlist stops or displays a blank frame

Check that every file path remains valid, each file plays locally, and the playlist source is configured to loop. If using OBS’s VLC Video source, confirm VLC is installed. Test transitions across the whole playlist before the event.

The stream is not visible to viewers

Verify the event’s visibility and status in YouTube Studio, then check its watch page from a viewer perspective. Ensure you started the YouTube event after the encoder preview became available and that you are looking at the correct scheduled event.

Or let it run in the cloud

If the goal is a continuous YouTube loop, StreamNeo can play uploaded videos from the cloud rather than relying on OBS and a computer at home. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; it streams the uploaded file as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot, and automatically attempts recovery if YouTube drops the stream. Each slot includes 10 GB of storage, pooled across active slots. The first day is free with no card; one free day is available per account. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. For Indian creators, UPI works as well as cards. StreamNeo streams to YouTube and plays uploaded video; it is not a camera-streaming service. Start the free day with StreamNeo.
