You can’t turn an ordinary YouTube playlist into a live broadcast by pressing Play in YouTube Studio. Create a live event in YouTube Studio, then use an encoder or cloud service to send a continuous feed of your videos to it. YouTube’s setup steps are the same for creators in India; the important local consideration is that you need the rights to stream the content in your territory.
What you need to make videos play as a live stream
YouTube Studio creates and manages the live event. An encoder supplies the live audio and video feed, using the stream URL and stream key shown for that event. To play several recordings in order, your chosen encoder or source workflow must be able to play the files sequentially and keep sending a feed for the length of the broadcast.
YouTube’s encoder instructions do not describe a native Studio control for turning an existing YouTube playlist into a live feed. A YouTube playlist is for watching videos on demand; replaying files as a live event requires a separate source-and-encoder workflow.
- A YouTube channel eligible for live streaming.
- The video files you intend to broadcast, in the order you want them played.
- An encoder that can play or receive those videos in sequence and output a continuous feed. Check the encoder’s current documentation for playlist, looping, and recovery capabilities; the YouTube instructions do not verify a particular product’s playlist-replay setup.
- Reliable power and internet for a local encoder, or a cloud service that performs the streaming remotely.
- Permission to stream every video and audio track in the broadcast.
Check your channel before preparing the broadcast
YouTube says a channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. If this is your first time enabling live streaming, activation may take up to 24 hours. Check eligibility early rather than waiting until the planned broadcast time. See YouTube Help’s YouTube live streaming tips and Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Set up the playlist as a continuous encoder source
Arrange the recordings
Put the source videos in the intended broadcast order and confirm that they play with the expected picture and sound. In the encoder, configure a source or playlist that advances from one recording to the next. If you want the sequence to repeat, enable looping if the encoder supports it. The exact controls vary by encoder, so use that product’s current instructions rather than assuming YouTube Studio can manage the sequence.
Test the complete sequence, including the transition between files and what happens when the final file ends. Confirm that the encoder continues sending a feed for the planned duration; a playlist that simply stops at the last video will end the source rather than provide a continuous broadcast.

Choose a broadcast duration and plan for interruptions
Decide whether the stream is a scheduled event or a longer-running broadcast. Check whether your encoder can keep the output running for that period and recover after a lost connection or application failure. YouTube’s documentation does not establish playlist automation or automatic recovery for any particular encoder.
Create the YouTube live event and connect the encoder
- Open YouTube Studio and select Go Live. Create a stream or schedule one. Scheduling can create an upcoming watch page and allow viewers to set reminders.
- Get the event’s stream URL and stream key. Enter these in the encoder’s output or streaming settings so it sends its feed to the correct YouTube event.
- Protect the stream key. It allows an encoder to send a feed that YouTube will accept. Share it only with people who need it, and do not publish it in a video, post, or public chat.
- Start the encoder and check Live Control Room. Confirm that YouTube receives the picture and sound in its preview before starting the event for viewers. Also check the event’s watch page from a viewer’s perspective.
- Start early and monitor the broadcast. YouTube recommends setting up encoder events in advance, preparing encoder setups at least two hours beforehand, and starting the encoder at least 15 minutes before a scheduled event. These are preparation recommendations, not a claim that every setup takes two hours.
- End the event deliberately. Stop the encoder when the broadcast is over and confirm the event has ended. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived.

Protect the stream from copyright interruptions
YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content. If it detects a match, it may replace the broadcast with a placeholder and warn the creator; if the content remains, the stream may be interrupted or terminated. This can affect a playlist containing music, films, broadcasts, game footage, or any other material you did not create.
Having a licence does not necessarily prevent an interruption. YouTube says a rights owner may also need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Arrange this with the relevant rights owner before going live if your licensed material is subject to Content ID. See YouTube Help’s Copyright issues with live streams.

YouTube’s livestream terms say providers must hold the rights needed to use live content on Google services and comply with applicable laws and regulatory requirements in the territory where they stream. The general YouTube guidance does not set out a separate India-specific playlist procedure or determine whether a particular video is lawful to stream in India. Check the rights and requirements that apply to your actual content and territory.

Common problems and fixes
- You can’t access live streaming: Verify the channel and check for restrictions. If live streaming is being activated for the first time, allow up to 24 hours.
- The event exists, but YouTube shows no video: Confirm the encoder is running and that it has the correct stream URL and key for this event. Check its output status and the Live Control Room preview.
- The first video plays, but the next one does not: Check the encoder’s playlist or source configuration and test the transition. YouTube Studio does not control the order in which your encoder plays files.
- The stream stops at the end of the sequence: Check whether looping is enabled and whether the encoder is configured to continue after the final file. Verify the behavior with a test before scheduling.
- The feed is interrupted after a copyright warning: Identify the matched content. Remove it or obtain the required rights; if you already have permission, ask the rights owner whether your channel must be added to its Content ID allowlist.
- The stream ends unexpectedly: Check whether the encoder, computer, power, or internet connection stopped supplying the feed. For a long-running broadcast, confirm in advance how the chosen setup handles failures and recovery.
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo runs a YouTube stream from the cloud: upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Your computer and home connection do not have to stay on. It plays uploaded videos, not a live camera feed.
