To loop one video in OBS, add it as a Media Source, open its properties, select the local file, and enable Loop. OBS will replay the file when playback reaches the end. The setting works the same in India; YouTube channel eligibility is checked separately.
Loop one video in OBS
- Open the OBS scene you want to send to YouTube Live.
- In the Sources dock, select + and choose Media Source. If prompted, give the source a name.
- In the source properties, select Local File and browse to the video you want to play.
- Enable Loop, then apply or confirm the properties. OBS documents Loop as off by default; when enabled, it makes the file play again after playback completes. OBS Media Sources
- Check that the source is visible in the Sources list (use its eye control if it is hidden) and that the video appears in the preview. The selected scene is what OBS sends as the broadcast image. OBS Sources Guide
Loop a playlist instead of one file
For several videos, use OBS’s VLC Video source rather than adding a separate Media Source for each file. Add the files as a playlist and enable Loop Playlist to restart playback when the source runs out of media files. VLC must be installed for this source to appear; 64-bit OBS requires 64-bit VLC. A single file does not need VLC: its built-in Media Source has the Loop setting. OBS Media Sources
Connect OBS to YouTube Live
- In YouTube Studio, set up the live stream and obtain the server URL and stream key for the encoder. YouTube’s encoder guidance says to enter these into the encoder to start streaming. Keep the key private. Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder
- In OBS, open Settings and select Stream. Choose YouTube as the service and enter the stream key and server details as applicable to your setup.
- Start streaming from OBS, then check the incoming video in YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room preview before going live. YouTube Streaming tips
India-specific eligibility and practical checks
The OBS loop control is a local source setting; OBS documentation does not describe a separate India-specific loop procedure. YouTube says live streaming requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the past 90 days. Eligibility is channel-specific, so check the channel’s current status in YouTube Studio before scheduling a broadcast. Get started with live streaming
- Preview is blank: confirm the source is visible in the Sources dock and that the correct scene is selected.
- The video stops at the end: reopen Media Source properties and check that Loop is enabled. For a playlist, check Loop Playlist on the VLC Video source.
- VLC Video is unavailable: install VLC matching OBS’s architecture; 64-bit OBS needs 64-bit VLC.
- YouTube does not accept the stream: verify the current stream key and server settings in YouTube Studio, and confirm the channel is eligible to live stream.
