- Upload or import prerecorded video and continuously repeat a playlist.
- Send the feed to YouTube, and explain whether setup uses YouTube authorization or a stream URL and key.
- Run after setup without a local computer, and describe how it reports or recovers from interruptions.
- Schedule starts or stops if you need them.
- Explain what happens when a broadcast runs for more than 12 hours, including whether it restarts or splits the feed.
- State the plan’s current limits for concurrent streams, storage, formats, and resolution.

Prepare a playlist that can repeat cleanly
Choose videos that make sense in sequence and can restart without an abrupt change in sound or content. There is no single playlist duration, file format, bitrate, or encoding setting that applies to every cloud provider. Follow the selected service’s current upload and ingest specifications, then test the actual playlist rather than relying on assumptions about compatibility.
Clear the rights for every video and audio track
Prerecorded content is still subject to YouTube’s live-stream rules. YouTube scans live feeds for third-party content; a match may replace or interrupt the stream, and continued use may lead to termination. A license does not necessarily prevent interruption: the rights holder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Review YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams and obtain the permissions your specific content requires.

Connect the cloud service and start the broadcast
- Configure the service: Create or select the YouTube destination using the connection method the provider supports. Confirm which channel it will use and what permissions it requests. If it requires a stream key, treat the key like a password.
- Upload and arrange the videos: Add the cleared files, order them into a playlist, and enable repeat or continuous playback. Set any desired start or end schedule, then review the service’s displayed settings.
- Start a test broadcast: Use a short test or private/unlisted setup where available. Confirm the correct video and audio reach YouTube and that the service reports the expected running state.
- Check YouTube Live Control Room: Confirm the broadcast appears in YouTube Studio, inspect its preview and stream health, and use YouTube’s controls as appropriate for the selected connection flow.
- Launch and monitor: Start the intended stream, check both the provider dashboard and YouTube Live Control Room, and make sure you know how to identify a disconnect or failed restart.
For YouTube’s encoder-based flow, the documented process is to create or select a broadcast in YouTube Studio, copy the server URL and stream key into the encoder, start sending the feed, confirm the preview, and then go live in Live Control Room. A cloud service may automate or replace parts of that process, so use its current instructions rather than assuming every provider uses the same connection method. YouTube explains the encoder flow in its live-streaming setup guide. If a stream key is exposed, rotate it in YouTube Studio.
Plan for long broadcasts and replays
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume an unbroken broadcast that runs longer than 12 hours will produce one complete replay. Ask the provider how it handles long runs and restarts, and decide whether to end and restart the broadcast before the threshold or preserve replays through a separate workflow. A cloud service may keep sending the feed while your computer is off, but that does not establish uninterrupted delivery or guarantee a complete archive. Check the stream during launch and decide in advance who will respond if YouTube or the provider reports a problem.
