Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Short answer: YouTube’s Android app supports mobile live streams and screen casting, but its documented mobile workflow does not let you select a finished video file and send it directly as a live broadcast. For a pre-recorded video, use a YouTube-compatible encoder workflow or a third-party service that explicitly supports prerecorded streaming from Android. If you only want to show your phone screen, YouTube’s Screencast option may fit—but it is a different, device- and app-dependent approach.
Choose the right way to go live
First decide whether you want to broadcast what is happening on your phone now or play a finished video as a live event. YouTube describes mobile streaming as “Good for vlogging and quick updates from your phone or tablet.” Its Android app offers screen casting, not documented direct ingestion of a prerecorded video file. YouTube’s live-streaming overview distinguishes mobile streaming from encoder-based streaming.
- Show the phone screen in real time: use YouTube’s Screencast option, if it is available to your channel and device.
- Broadcast a finished video file: use an encoder-based workflow, or carefully assess a third-party Android service that specifically advertises prerecorded-video streaming.
Playing a video on the phone and trying to screen-cast it is not the same as uploading the file as a live source. Whether the other app’s picture and sound are captured can depend on the app and device. Test privately before relying on this route.
Check whether your channel can stream from Android
YouTube’s mobile-live requirements include all of the following, according to its Android mobile live-streaming instructions (accessed in 2026):

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
- At least 50 subscribers.
- A verified YouTube channel.
- No live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days.
- Live streaming enabled for the channel.
- Android 8.0 or newer.
First-time activation can take up to 24 hours. Enable live streaming and allow time for activation before the day of your broadcast. Eligibility to stream from mobile does not add a prerecorded-file option to the YouTube app.
Use YouTube’s Android app for a screen cast
- Open the YouTube app on your Android phone and sign in to the channel you intend to use.
- Tap Create, then Live.
- Edit the stream details and choose the available settings for your broadcast. You can schedule a stream; YouTube also documents a Screencast option.
- If you are showing your screen, select Screencast and check what will be visible before continuing. Close private messages, notifications, or other material you do not want viewers to see.
- Start with Go live when ready. Monitor the stream and end it from YouTube when finished.
This procedure broadcasts the phone screen; it is not a documented method for selecting a video file as the stream input. Google’s Android mobile-live integration documentation likewise describes launching YouTube’s setup screen for a camera broadcast, not proof of direct prerecorded-file broadcasting: Initiating YouTube Live Streams on Android Devices.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
Use an encoder for a prerecorded video
YouTube documents encoders as a route for screen sharing and more advanced production. An encoder workflow lets you create or schedule an event in Live Control Room, then connect a software or hardware encoder as the live source. Follow YouTube’s current encoder setup instructions for the event and encoder you use.
- In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create or schedule the live stream. Set the title, audience, visibility, and start time deliberately.
- Choose an encoder workflow and connect the encoder using the stream details shown for that event. Keep the stream key private; anyone with access to it may be able to send video to your event.
- Load the prerecorded video into an encoder that supports file playback as a live source. The exact controls differ by encoder, so consult that encoder’s documentation rather than assuming YouTube’s Android app will play the file.
- Start the encoder and inspect YouTube’s preview before making the event public. Confirm the video, audio, orientation, and event details are correct.
- Check that the event can be watched on mobile, then start the broadcast at the planned time. Keep the encoder and its network connection running for the duration of the stream.
- Monitor audio and video while live. YouTube recommends preparing ahead, previewing, and monitoring the stream; see its streaming tips.
The phone can still be useful for managing or monitoring a stream, but YouTube’s documented encoder setup is not a phone-only prerecorded-file workflow. If operating entirely from Android is essential, verify that a third-party app explicitly supports uploading or selecting prerecorded video and broadcasting it as a YouTube live stream. GoLiveIndia advertises uploading a prerecorded video or using a video URL for that purpose on its YouTube Live Stream App page. That is the vendor’s claim, not a capability verified or endorsed by YouTube; check current availability, pricing, permissions, privacy terms, and technical limits before using it.

Protect your video, audio, and channel
Use only material you own or are authorized to broadcast. YouTube says live streams must comply with its Terms of Service and Community Guidelines, and it may restrict a creator’s ability to live stream. A video being prerecorded does not exempt it from those rules.
- Check rights for the full video, music, clips, images, and any other included material—not only the main footage.
- Confirm the event’s visibility and audience settings before going live, and rehearse privately if you need to validate the complete setup.
- Watch for audio problems, black frames, incorrect orientation, or an unintended screen capture in the preview.
Troubleshoot before the broadcast
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| The YouTube app does not offer Live | The channel may not meet mobile eligibility, live streaming may not be enabled, or activation may still be pending. | Check subscriber count, channel verification, restrictions in the previous 90 days, live-streaming activation, and Android version against YouTube’s mobile requirements. |
| You cannot find a way to select the finished video in YouTube’s Android app | The documented mobile workflow supports a camera stream and Screencast, not direct prerecorded-file selection. | Use a compatible encoder workflow or verify a third-party service’s current prerecorded-streaming support. |
| A screen-cast attempt shows no video or has no sound | Screen capture of playback is app- and device-dependent; capture may not include the source app’s picture or audio. | Test privately, check the preview, and use an encoder or explicitly supported service if the capture is unreliable. |
| The event is scheduled but viewers cannot watch it | The event may not be live yet, may have the wrong visibility, or the encoder may not be sending a usable feed. | Review the event settings in Live Control Room, confirm the encoder is connected, inspect preview, and check mobile playback before the start. |
| The broadcast has the wrong picture, orientation, or audio | The source or encoder settings may not match the intended presentation, or monitoring was skipped. | Rehearse with the same file and setup; inspect both picture and sound in preview and during the stream. |
