For a scheduled prerecorded video that repeats during one YouTube Live event, Restream is the clearest documented StreamYard alternative: its paid looping feature allows up to 10 plays and a maximum event length of 40 hours. For an unattended stream that should keep running continuously, a different kind of service is a better fit: StreamNeo loops uploaded videos from the cloud, so your computer can stay off. StreamYard itself supports scheduled prerecorded broadcasts, but its help documentation does not establish a repeat-loop setting.
These tools solve different problems. A browser studio such as StreamYard is designed around a live-production workflow; looping a prerecorded file may instead call for hosted repeat playback, local playback through OBS, or a cloud service built to keep a YouTube channel live. Choose based on whether you need a one-time scheduled broadcast, a bounded number of repeats, or an ongoing stream.
Which StreamYard alternative fits your YouTube video loop?
| Option | Best for | Important limitation |
|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | An always-on YouTube stream from uploaded videos, run in the cloud. | It streams uploaded videos to YouTube; it is not a camera-based live studio. |
| Restream Upload & Stream | Scheduling a prerecorded video to repeat a set number of times in one event. | Looping is paid, with up to 10 plays and a 40-hour event maximum, according to Restream’s help page published March 11, 2026. Restream’s looping instructions. |
| OBS Studio | Local playback and encoder or scene control when you can leave a computer running. | You manage setup and machine resources. StreamYard’s help page describes OBS as an advanced virtual-camera workaround, not a complete reviewed YouTube looping guide. StreamYard’s local-video playback guidance. |
| StreamYard prerecorded broadcast | A scheduled, prerecorded one-off broadcast within StreamYard. | The reviewed help source documents scheduling, not a repeat-loop control. StreamYard’s prerecorded streaming instructions. |
For 24/7 streaming services or ways to keep a YouTube live stream running, StreamNeo is the first option to consider: it runs continuously from the cloud, supports uploaded video at any quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, and gives new accounts one free day.
1. StreamNeo: cloud looping for an ongoing YouTube stream
StreamNeo is not a like-for-like replacement for StreamYard’s browser studio. It is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live using videos you upload or organize into a playlist. Add your YouTube stream key once, start the stream, and StreamNeo loops the video from the cloud; your computer and home connection do not need to stay on.

StreamNeo is the better fit when you want uploaded videos to keep a YouTube stream going unattended, rather than a browser studio for guests or live on-camera production. Visit StreamNeo to learn how it works.
2. Restream Upload & Stream: repeat a video in one scheduled event
Restream’s documented option is the most direct match when the goal is to replay one prerecorded video several times as a single event. Its Help Center article, published March 11, 2026, says looping is a paid feature, permits up to 10 plays, and caps the total event at 40 hours. Restream says the feature works with uploaded videos and stream recordings. See Restream’s video-looping instructions.

- Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
There is an important playlist distinction: Restream playlists do not loop natively, according to the same help page. Restream says you can assemble repeated playback by duplicating videos in a playlist. That is a workaround for arranging several plays, not evidence of an unlimited or 24/7 event; the documented 10-play and 40-hour limits still matter.
Choose Restream when you need a bounded repeat event and its paid feature and limits suit your schedule. Do not treat those limits as proof that it can sustain unattended, continuous 24/7 playback.

3. OBS Studio: play a local file and keep the computer running
OBS is the do-it-yourself route when you want local media playback and direct control over scenes or encoder settings. It leaves the operational responsibility with you: the computer must stay powered and connected while you stream. StreamYard’s help page specifically describes OBS as part of an advanced virtual-camera workaround for putting looped local video into a StreamYard broadcast, and warns that the workflow can put substantial load on CPU, GPU, and RAM. It does not provide a reviewed, end-to-end setup for streaming a loop directly from OBS to YouTube.
YouTube’s encoder guide explains that an encoder converts video into a digital format for streaming. It mentions webcams, microphones, and headsets as equipment that can be connected, not as requirements for prerecorded playback. Read YouTube’s encoder guide. Exact OBS menu names and settings depend on the OBS version and the workflow, so use the current OBS and YouTube documentation for your setup rather than assuming the StreamYard workaround is a complete guide.

- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
- Advantages: local media playback and control over scenes and encoding.
- Tradeoffs: your machine, power, internet connection, and correct configuration must remain available; resource use can become a concern, particularly with the virtual-camera method.
4. StreamYard: schedule a prerecorded broadcast, not a documented loop
StreamYard supports scheduling a prerecorded broadcast to begin at a selected time even if you are offline. Its Help Center says: “Once scheduled, the video will go live at the selected time—even if you’re not online to start the broadcast.” The same page notes that the YouTube link is created when the announcement post is published, not when the stream is initially scheduled. See StreamYard’s prerecorded streaming instructions.
This makes StreamYard a reasonable choice for a scheduled prerecorded broadcast within its studio workflow. The reviewed documentation does not establish a native setting to repeat that video, so do not select it on the assumption that scheduling means looping.
How to choose without confusing a loop with a scheduled broadcast
- One scheduled prerecorded broadcast: StreamYard documents scheduling and starting while you are offline.
- A video repeated a limited number of times in one event: Restream documents paid looping with a maximum of 10 plays and a 40-hour event cap.
- Continuous unattended YouTube playback: StreamNeo runs uploaded videos from the cloud; the Restream limit cited above does not establish 24/7 service.
- Local scene and encoder control: OBS offers a do-it-yourself path, with the computer and system resources under your responsibility.
- Looped local video inside a StreamYard studio: StreamYard documents an advanced OBS virtual-camera workaround, with potential CPU, GPU, and RAM load.
Copyright, YouTube rules, and monetization
A working loop is not a substitute for having the right to broadcast the video or for meeting YouTube’s current policies. The YouTube help page cited here explains encoder-based livestreaming; it does not establish copyright permissions, repetitive-content or monetization eligibility, or whether unattended continuous streams are permitted in every circumstance. Check YouTube’s applicable policies and the rights for every video you plan to use before going live. No claim that self-owned content is automatically permitted or monetizable follows from the streaming setup described here.
Or let it run in the cloud
For an ongoing YouTube stream, the setup is simple: upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. StreamNeo runs from the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at home. It streams uploaded video at any quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card; after that, the Monthly price is $9.99 per month.
