You can’t use StreamYard’s documented scheduling features to create a native, unattended 24/7 loop. A scheduled studio broadcast still requires someone to enter the studio and click Go Live. A scheduled pre-recorded broadcast can start automatically, but it ends when its video finishes. For an unattended continuous YouTube stream, use a service built to loop uploaded videos in the cloud, such as StreamNeo; if you stay with StreamYard, plan for a finite broadcast or a person to start the studio show.
What StreamYard scheduling does—and doesn’t—do
StreamYard offers two different workflows that can be mistaken for 24/7 automation. Scheduling a studio broadcast creates a planned YouTube event; it does not start the show without a host. StreamYard’s guidance says the host still needs to access the studio and click Go Live at the scheduled time. StreamYard’s live-stream setup guidance
Pre-recorded streaming can start at a specified time automatically, but it is finite: the livestream ends when the uploaded video finishes. StreamYard’s currently documented maximum video lengths are 2 hours on Core, 4 hours on Advanced, and 8 hours on Teams and Business. Confirm your account’s current plan limits before scheduling, since plans and product limits can change. StreamYard’s pre-recorded streaming guidance
Choose the right StreamYard workflow
| Workflow | Does it start unattended? | What is being streamed? | Duration and recording considerations |
|---|---|---|---|
| Scheduled studio broadcast | No. A person must enter the studio and click Go Live. | Live studio output, such as a host, guests, or other studio sources. | The schedule itself does not provide an unattended loop. Check StreamYard’s current recording limits and YouTube archive behavior separately. |
| Scheduled pre-recorded video | Yes, at the selected time. | An uploaded video, not a live camera feed. | It stops when the video ends. StreamYard documents maximum video lengths of 2 hours on Core, 4 hours on Advanced, and 8 hours on Teams and Business. |
| Existing YouTube stream connected by RTMP | No. StreamYard says this route cannot schedule the live; a person still enters the studio and clicks Go Live. | An existing YouTube stream connected to the StreamYard studio. | It is not a hands-off looping or restart feature. StreamYard documents this connection option for paid plans. |
Use a scheduled studio event when you want to host a live show and can be present to start it. Choose pre-recorded streaming for an automatically starting replay that fits the video-length limit. Neither is documented as an unattended, continuous 24/7 loop. StreamYard’s live-stream guidance StreamYard’s pre-recorded video guidance StreamYard’s RTMP guidance

How to schedule a finite pre-recorded broadcast
- Prepare the video you want to broadcast and check that its duration is within your current StreamYard plan’s documented maximum: 2 hours for Core, 4 hours for Advanced, or 8 hours for Teams and Business.
- In StreamYard, create a broadcast and select Pre-recorded video as the source. Follow the current on-screen prompts to upload or select your file and connect the YouTube destination.
- Choose the broadcast date and time, then review the destination and video before confirming the schedule.
- Expect the livestream to begin at the scheduled time and end when the video is finished. Scheduling it does not make it repeat or restart.
StreamYard’s exact interface labels can change; its official pre-recorded-video instructions explain the current workflow. Read StreamYard’s pre-recorded video instructions.
How to schedule a studio show
- Create a YouTube broadcast from StreamYard and set its title, destination, and scheduled time.
- At the scheduled time, have the host enter the StreamYard studio, check the show setup, and click Go Live.
- For an existing YouTube stream connected through RTMP, follow StreamYard’s paid-plan instructions to connect it, but still arrange for a person to enter the studio and click Go Live. StreamYard says this RTMP route cannot schedule the live.
A scheduled event is useful for organizing a human-hosted broadcast; it is not a substitute for someone starting the studio. StreamYard’s studio and RTMP guidance
What “no streaming-hour limit” means
StreamYard says paid plans do not have a StreamYard-side limit on YouTube streaming hours. That statement is not a promise that a scheduled video loops indefinitely, that a broadcast restarts after failure, or that a 24/7 archive will be preserved. These are separate limits and behaviors:

Channel eligibility and active-stream limits
YouTube’s current Help guidance says a channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. It also lists limits of 10 active streams per channel and 3 per stream key. These rules can change, so consult YouTube’s live-streaming Help page for the current requirements before planning multiple simultaneous broadcasts. YouTube Help: live-streaming eligibility and limits
Rights, archives, and monetization
Only stream material you have the right to use. A long-running broadcast is not exempt from copyright rules. YouTube says public long-form videos, including archived livestreams, may count toward qualified public watch hours; livestreams that are not archived do not. Meeting that condition does not guarantee that a particular stream will qualify for monetization.

YouTube’s monetization policy uses the term inauthentic content for repetitive or mass-produced material. Its July 15, 2025 update described the naming change from “repetitious content” as a clarification, not a new restriction. The policy does not let anyone predict the outcome for an individual looping stream. Make the content original and valuable to viewers, and review YouTube’s current policies rather than assuming repeated playback will earn watch hours or monetization. Improve connection stability for a studio broadcast
A reliable connection can reduce avoidable interruptions, but it cannot turn a scheduled StreamYard broadcast into unattended automation or guarantee uptime. StreamYard recommends Ethernet when possible and at least 5 Mbps upload and download; it says Wi-Fi may work but can cause issues. StreamYard’s connection requirements
- Connect the computer to the router over Ethernet if practical.
- Check both upload and download capacity against StreamYard’s recommendation.
- Do not leave a browser studio unattended as a reliability plan; the documented studio workflow requires a host to start it.
Troubleshooting common 24/7-stream expectations
The scheduled show did not start by itself
Cause: It was a scheduled studio broadcast. Fix: Have the host enter the studio and click Go Live. For an automatically starting finite replay, use the pre-recorded-video workflow instead.

The pre-recorded stream stopped
Cause: The source video finished, or the file exceeded the current plan’s supported duration. Fix: Check the video length and your account’s current plan limit. A scheduled pre-recorded broadcast does not loop after the source ends.
The RTMP connection did not make the show hands-off
Cause: StreamYard’s documented RTMP connection path does not schedule the live and still requires the host to enter the studio and click Go Live. Fix: Treat RTMP as a connection method, not an unattended scheduler or restart system.
The broadcast is unstable on Wi-Fi
Cause: StreamYard notes that Wi-Fi can cause issues. Fix: Try Ethernet and verify the connection meets its 5 Mbps upload and download recommendation; this is a stability measure, not an uptime guarantee.

Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is a continuous YouTube stream made from uploaded videos—not a live camera show—StreamNeo is the alternative to try first: it loops uploaded video in the cloud, keeps running with your computer off, and streams the file as uploaded up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot. StreamNeo is made for an always-on YouTube channel.
- Upload a recording or build a playlist.
- Add your YouTube stream key once.
- Go live; StreamNeo loops the video from the cloud.
Nothing has to stay on at home. Every quality up to 4K 60fps costs the same per slot, and the stream is not re-encoded. StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card, one free day per account. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo is YouTube-only and plays uploaded videos; it does not broadcast a live camera feed. Start the free day at StreamNeo’s registration page.
