YouTube Studio does not document a weekly recurrence switch for livestreams. To schedule a recurring meditation session, create a scheduled stream for each date in Live Control Room and use Reuse settings to carry forward the previous setup. If you need to automate a calendar of events, YouTube’s Live Streaming API provides a programmatic way to reuse stream settings across scheduled broadcasts.
Schedule each meditation session in YouTube Studio
YouTube’s documented Studio workflow schedules a future stream for a chosen date and time. Reusing settings makes repeat sessions quicker, but you still need to create or confirm each occurrence and check its details.
- Check livestream eligibility. YouTube says the channel must be verified, the creator must be at least 16, and the channel must have had no livestreaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. See YouTube’s livestreaming eligibility guidance.
- Open Live Control Room. In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live.
- Schedule the next occurrence. Select Manage → Schedule stream. Choose Reuse settings to copy the previous stream’s metadata and settings, including its stream key, or choose Create new.
- Review the copied details. Update the title, description, date and time, privacy, thumbnail, and any other editable settings for this session. Reused information may not suit the next meditation without changes.
- Make the time unambiguous. Confirm the date and time you intend to publish. Include the relevant time zone in your own announcement or publishing checklist so viewers know when to join.
- Share the scheduled watch page. YouTube says scheduled streams may appear as upcoming in subscribers’ feeds, and viewers can select Notify me for a reminder. Share the event URL in advance.
- Start the broadcast at the scheduled time. Configure your encoder with YouTube’s stream URL and stream key, start sending the feed, wait for the preview in Live Control Room, then click Go live.
- End the session cleanly. Stop the encoder and end the stream in Live Control Room. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours are automatically archived.

What “recurring” means in Studio and the API
Studio: reuse settings, then schedule another date
Reuse settings is a shortcut for setup, not an automatic weekly schedule. The documented Studio workflow creates an individual scheduled stream; it does not establish a recurring calendar control. For a weekly meditation class managed manually, schedule the next date and inspect the copied details each time.

API: reuse one stream resource for multiple broadcasts
For automated event management, YouTube’s Live Streaming API describes a pattern in which one reusable liveStream resource holds delivery settings and is bound to separate scheduled liveBroadcast resources. YouTube describes the common recurring case as having only one event live at a time. If two broadcasts may overlap, its guidance identifies separate stream resources for broadcasts or shows as a suitable approach. Prepare the meditation experience
Set expectations in the title and description
Tell viewers whether the session is guided or silent, who it is for, and its intended duration. Prepare a quiet welcome or holding screen so the opening feels deliberate rather than like a technical wait. These are production choices, not YouTube scheduling requirements.

Choose audio and format for the session
A microphone is optional, but it may be useful for a spoken guide; YouTube lists microphones among typical encoder hardware. A direct webcam or mobile workflow can suit a simple camera-led session, while an encoder workflow offers more control for an external microphone, overlays, or a controlled prerecorded visual scene. YouTube’s current live documentation describes horizontal and vertical experiences, including mobile discovery advantages for vertical. Check the options currently available in Studio and choose a framing that fits the practice and audience.
Plan chat and moderation
For a silent or uninterrupted meditation, decide before scheduling whether chat should be enabled and how comments will be moderated. YouTube’s live settings include comment moderation choices; review them in Manage live stream settings.

Use music only when you have the necessary rights
Do not assume a track is cleared because it is available online. YouTube for Artists advises creators planning to use copyright-protected music during a livestream to coordinate with their label or distributor to avoid issues such as copyright strikes. Check the relevant rights before rehearsal or broadcast; see YouTube for Artists’ guidance on going live for music channels.
Add a trailer only if the channel qualifies
YouTube says scheduled streams can have trailers, but access requires more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guidelines strikes. If eligible, a brief invitation video can describe the practice and help viewers know what to expect.

Protect the stream key
YouTube describes stream keys as password-like credentials. Keep the key private and do not publish or share it. Because Reuse settings can carry over the key, confirm that the intended scheduled session is selected before sending a feed. If the key is exposed, reset it in Live Control Room and update the encoder before streaming again. Details are in YouTube’s live stream settings guidance.
Common scheduling and broadcast problems
- The next week’s event is missing: Reuse settings does not create future weekly occurrences automatically. Schedule the next date in Manage → Schedule stream.
- The event shows the wrong title, privacy, or time: Reused settings may have copied the prior session’s details. Edit the scheduled stream and verify the date, time, time zone in your announcement, title, description, and privacy before sharing its watch page.
- The scheduled page exists but no live preview appears: The scheduled event alone does not send video. Check that the encoder is using the correct stream URL and key, is sending a feed, and that the intended event is open in Live Control Room.
- The preview appears but viewers cannot see a live session: After confirming the preview, select Go live in Live Control Room; sending the encoder feed and starting the public broadcast are separate actions.
- The stream key may have been shared: Reset it in Live Control Room and replace it in the encoder. Treat the old key as compromised.
- Music triggers a rights concern: Stop and resolve the issue with the relevant rights holder, label, or distributor. Online availability alone is not proof of permission to use music in a livestream.
