Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →First find where the audio and video stop matching: compare the encoder preview, a local recording made with the same setup, and playback from YouTube. If the local recording is already out of sync, inspect the selected sources and adjust the encoder’s audio sync offset in measured steps. If the local recording is synchronized but YouTube playback is not, investigate encoder load, stream health, and the outbound connection before changing the offset.
Find where the audio and video drift apart
Reproduce the problem with your usual audio sources, video sources, routing, and encoder settings. Check the encoder preview, make a local recording, then compare both with the YouTube stream. YouTube recommends checking how the stream looks and sounds in the encoder, verifying routed audio and video sources, checking CPU load, and inspecting the local archive: YouTube live-stream troubleshooting.
- Watch the encoder preview and note whether speech, percussion, or another clear sound matches visible movement.
- Record a short local sample using the same sources and settings as the live stream. Compare its timing with the preview.
- Check YouTube playback as well. Note whether audio leads or lags, whether the mismatch stays constant or grows over time, and whether it affects one viewer or several.
A synchronized local recording with an out-of-sync live stream points attention toward live encoding or delivery, while a local recording that is also out of sync points toward source selection or encoder setup. This is a diagnostic split, not proof: more than one problem can exist at once. YouTube notes that a problem reported by one viewer may be on that viewer’s device or connection; similar reports from viewers on different connections may indicate an encoder issue.
If the local recording is out of sync
Verify the selected sources
Confirm that the intended audio and video devices are selected in the encoder and that the audio is routed to the expected output. Check for duplicated audio capture or an unintended source. If you changed devices, routing, or source settings recently, make a new local recording after verifying them.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Measure an audio sync offset
Use your encoder’s mixer or advanced audio properties to adjust its audio sync offset, then make a short recording after each change. First establish whether audio leads or lags the video. Change the offset in the direction that corrects the observed mismatch, and keep a note of the value and result so you can reverse an unsuccessful change.
Restream’s guide gives +200 ms and -200 ms as example values to test—not a universal setting or recommended starting offset. The correct correction depends on the measured mismatch and on how your encoder defines positive and negative values. Menu labels vary by software and version; do not assume a setting from another encoder applies to yours. See Restream’s audio and video sync guide.

If the local recording is in sync but YouTube playback is not
Check encoder health and the connection
Look for high CPU load, encoder warnings, dropped frames, or an unstable outbound connection while streaming. YouTube recommends testing the outbound connection and contacting your internet service provider if it is problematic. OBS explains that dropped frames can occur when a connection is unstable or cannot sustain the configured bitrate, and recommends a wired connection for streaming: OBS Stream Connection Troubleshooting.
These checks address possible live-delivery problems; they do not guarantee a fixed audio offset will be corrected. Avoid lowering quality or changing network settings blindly. OBS suggests basing video bitrate on stable upload speed and platform limits, and gives 75% of total upload speed as a starting point in its connection guidance. That is general OBS guidance, not a YouTube-specific rule or a guaranteed audio-sync fix.

Compare reports from viewers
Ask whether the problem is visible to multiple viewers on different connections. If only one person reports it, have them check another device or connection before changing the live setup. If several viewers report the same mismatch, prioritize encoder output and YouTube’s stream-health information.
Read YouTube’s live health messages before changing settings
In YouTube Live Control Room, check the Health Indicator and its timestamped messages. YouTube distinguishes critical red messages from moderate yellow ones. Correct a configuration error that is actually reported, then verify whether synchronization changes; an error can affect stream quality without necessarily causing the timing mismatch.

Relevant documented checks include audio format, bitrate, sample rate, and the number of audio streams. YouTube Help’s live-stream error guidance lists 128 Kbps as a recommended audio bitrate and calls out 44.1 kHz sample rate: YouTube live-stream error messages. Google’s API health documentation lists 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz as recommended sample rates and includes issues such as sample-rate mismatch and video-ingestion starvation: Google LiveStream configuration issues. These pages do not state identical sample-rate guidance; use the error shown for your session and check the encoder’s actual settings rather than assuming 48 kHz itself causes desync.

Before relying on a continuous stream, test representative audio and visible movement—not just a static frame or silence—and monitor stream health while live. YouTube advises: “Make sure to test before you start your live stream. Tests should include audio and movement in the video similar to what you’ll be doing in the stream.” Its encoder guidance also notes that YouTube transcodes live input for different viewer devices and network conditions, so choose a quality appropriate to your connection: YouTube encoder settings and live-stream guidance.

- Use a repeatable section with a clear sound and a visible event to compare timing.
- Keep the source, routing, and encoder settings consistent while diagnosing; change one relevant variable at a time.
- Check the stream from YouTube playback as well as from the encoder preview and local recording.
- For a long-running stream, monitor the health indicator after going live rather than treating a successful start as proof the stream will remain healthy.
The sources describe general YouTube and encoder troubleshooting; they do not identify a special India-specific or Indian-music-specific desync mechanism or a separate procedure for 24/7 streams. Copyright and reused-content compliance are separate from synchronization: audio that is in sync does not establish that you have the rights to stream it or that it complies with YouTube’s policies.
When to escalate
If repeated local tests and live-health checks do not isolate the cause, save a short local sample and record the time of the problem, the direction and pattern of the mismatch, the affected viewers, and any timestamped Live Control Room errors. Share those details with the relevant encoder or platform support. YouTube asks streamers with continuing live-stream issues to let its team know: YouTube live-stream troubleshooting.
