Not on the evidence currently available. Wowza Video documents both 24×7 channels and a separate feature for looping a prerecorded MP4, but its documentation does not establish that the looped video can be sent to YouTube Live. In a Wowza Community response dated July 10, 2025, a senior support engineer said prerecorded playlist delivery to external platforms such as YouTube was not then available. Confirm the current YouTube output capability with Wowza before building around it.
What the documented Wowza workflows do—and do not—show
“24/7” can mean repeating one stored video or cycling through a playlist. Wowza Video’s prerecorded-video guide describes looping a single valid MP4. Its 24×7-channel guide describes a channel configured with an input such as an encoder or camera. Neither guide, as documented, demonstrates that a looped stored video is delivered as a YouTube Live broadcast.
The distinction matters because the 24×7 guide describes playback through Wowza-generated JavaScript or iFrame embeds and a Wowza-hosted page. Those viewing options are not the same as sending the stream to a YouTube channel.
Wowza’s API describes stream targets, including custom external destinations, as a service concept. That general description does not establish support for the specific combination of a stored-video loop, continuous operation, and YouTube Live.

Check YouTube compatibility before setup
Before paying for or configuring a channel, ask Wowza to confirm in writing whether your current Wowza Video account can send a looping prerecorded MP4 to a YouTube Live stream key, whether it can run continuously, and whether a multi-file playlist is supported. The available dated support response is not a guarantee about the current product.
In the July 10, 2025 Wowza Community response to a question about scheduled or playlist delivery of prerecorded video to external platforms, including YouTube, Senior Technical Support Engineer Jason Hilton wrote: “This particular functionality doesn’t currently exist in the Wowza Video service but it has been added as a feature request which will be considered for a future version.” Treat this as the support position on that date, not as confirmation of present-day availability.

If Wowza confirms the YouTube output path, configure a single-video loop
The steps below explain the documented Wowza Video setup for a prerecorded MP4. They do not, by themselves, prove the resulting stream can reach YouTube. Follow them for that purpose only after Wowza confirms the destination and continuous operation you need.
1. Confirm account eligibility
You need a Wowza Video account with 24×7 streaming enabled. Wowza’s 24×7 guide says the feature is not available in a trial account. Confirm your account’s access before planning a production stream.

2. Prepare a valid MP4
The prerecorded-video workflow requires a valid MP4 recording. The documented workflow covers a single video; it does not establish multi-file playlist delivery to YouTube. If you need several videos to rotate, ask Wowza to confirm that exact use case rather than assuming a channel’s encoder or camera inputs imply stored playlist support.
3. Create the 24×7 channel
- In Wowza Video, create a new live stream and choose 24×7 channel.
- Choose a region near the broadcast origin, then select an input type. The guide lists RTMP, SRT, RTSP, WebRTC, and Stream from file among the input choices. It also describes encoder or camera connections; these options should not be treated as proof that a prerecorded loop is routed to YouTube.
- Set an input resolution if you know it. Add poster art or a watermark if useful; both are optional in the guide.
- Use the stream details page for the connection information associated with the selected input.
4. Enable looping and set an end condition
In the documented stored-video workflow, select the MP4 and enable Loop video. Wowza says the stream continues until you stop it manually or it ends according to a schedule.

You can configure a one-time or recurring schedule, select the time zone, and create additional schedules after stream creation. Check the selected time zone and schedule boundaries carefully so the stream does not stop earlier or later than intended.
5. Test the actual destination
Before relying on a continuous channel, verify a real test playback at the intended destination: your YouTube Live channel, if Wowza has confirmed that output path. The 24×7 guide’s playback examples use Wowza formats, so a successful Wowza-hosted or embedded preview alone does not verify YouTube delivery.

Playlist needs and the Streaming Engine alternative
In the July 10, 2025 support response, Wowza described combining multiple videos into one MP4 as a limited workaround for the missing prerecorded playlist-to-external-platform function. It cautioned that file size and duration could make the combined file unusable. That workaround is not equivalent to a manageable multi-file playlist.
The same response pointed readers to Wowza Streaming Engine and its StreamPublisher module for scheduled streams and playlists if Wowza Video was not required. The available information does not establish that this option currently supports YouTube delivery for your exact workflow, what hosting it requires, or what it costs. Confirm those details with Wowza before choosing it.
Control stream charges and idle time
Wowza’s 24×7 guide warns that charges can accrue for live streams started in Wowza Video even when they are not actively streaming content. It says idle streams are automatically stopped after 20 minutes, but recommends stopping a stream when finished. The guide does not state a price, so check your account’s current billing terms and usage rather than assuming an idle channel is cost-free.
