For a continuous YouTube broadcast built from uploaded music videos, start with StreamNeo: it loops your uploads from the cloud, keeps running with your computer off, supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and gives each account one free day without a card. For an engineered broadcast pipeline with managed transcoding or backup inputs, compare Google Cloud Live Stream API and AWS components—but neither is established here as a simple, direct YouTube relay. Whatever you choose, clear the music rights for live use before going on air.
Which option fits a 24/7 music stream?
The right choice depends on whether you want to loop uploaded recordings or build a managed broadcast pipeline. A cloud service can keep a pre-recorded playlist running without a home computer, but it does not grant music rights or remove the need to manage the YouTube broadcast.
- StreamNeo — best fit for uploaded-video looping: Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It runs the loop from the cloud, supports any upload quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers the first day free with no card. See StreamNeo.
- Google Cloud Live Stream API — for a managed processing pipeline: It accepts RTMP or SRT input and produces HLS or DASH outputs, with backup-input support. That is useful for a broadcast workflow, but the documented output is not established as a direct YouTube RTMPS relay. A channel in a streaming state may need a restart after 24 hours. Google Cloud’s overview and quota documentation describe these limits and components.
- AWS MediaLive architecture — for a configurable broadcast stack: AWS documents 24/7 channels using MediaLive for encoding, with MediaStore or MediaPackage and CloudFront in the delivery path. This approach involves configuring and operating more components. AWS’s architecture documentation outlines the components.
- Direct encoder to YouTube — for a DIY setup: A software or hardware encoder can send a stream directly to YouTube using its server URL and stream key. This avoids a separate cloud processing pipeline, but you remain responsible for the encoder, source media, internet connection, monitoring, and recovery. YouTube’s encoder setup guide explains the workflow.
| Option | What it does | Key consideration |
|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | Loops uploaded videos or a playlist from the cloud to YouTube; one always-on stream per slot. | Designed for uploaded videos, not a live camera. The same product is on every plan; only billing length changes. |
| Google Cloud Live Stream API | Accepts RTMP or SRT input, then produces HLS or DASH output; supports backup input. | Not established in the cited documentation as a direct YouTube ingest relay; a streaming channel may need restarting after 24 hours. Overview; quotas. |
| AWS live video components | MediaLive encoding, with MediaStore or MediaPackage and optionally CloudFront in a 24/7 architecture. | More components to configure; the cited source gives no workload-specific price. AWS architecture. |
| Direct encoder | Software or hardware encoder sends to YouTube using a server URL and stream key. | Fewer cloud components, but the operator maintains the encoder and recovery process. YouTube setup. |
Before choosing a cloud architecture, check whether its output protocol matches the required YouTube ingest path, what happens on a fault or scheduled restart, whether backup inputs and monitoring are included, and what continuous operation will cost at your bitrate. Region availability, latency, technical effort, and total cost also depend on your design. The cited official sources do not provide a comparable India-specific cost estimate for these cloud architectures, so they do not establish a cheapest option for Indian channels.
Clear the music rights before scheduling the broadcast
YouTube’s live-stream terms put responsibility on the provider to hold the necessary rights for the live content worldwide, including music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers and other rights participants. This is not India-specific legal advice; the permissions required depend on the catalogue and use. Read YouTube’s livestream terms, and confirm the rights for the recordings and compositions with the relevant rights holders or qualified counsel.

YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A match can replace the broadcast with a placeholder and trigger a warning; if unresolved, YouTube may interrupt or terminate the stream. A licence for third-party music does not necessarily prevent an interruption: YouTube says the rights owner may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Archived streams can also receive Content ID claims after the live broadcast. See YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance.
- Check both the sound recording and the underlying composition, and confirm that the permission covers a live YouTube broadcast, relevant territories, and the way you plan to monetize it.
- If a rights holder has licensed the music to you, ask whether your channel needs Content ID allowlisting before launch.
- Do not assume that a track available in a YouTube product, described as royalty-free elsewhere, or cleared for an ordinary upload is automatically cleared for a continuous live stream.
- Creator Music licensing and revenue-sharing tracks are for long-form videos, not live broadcasts. YouTube’s Creator Music terms and FAQ say it does not currently support licensing for live content.
Set up a direct YouTube stream with an encoder
This is the DIY route if you want to send a continuous source directly to YouTube rather than use a managed cloud loop. YouTube supports streaming through an encoder, and recommends RTMPS for encrypted ingest. The exact controls vary by encoder; the settings below are the relevant YouTube guidance, not a preset for every piece of software. See encoder setup and encoder settings.

- Enable live streaming early. YouTube says first-time live-stream enablement may take up to 24 hours. Do this before the planned launch, not at the last minute.
- Prepare a rights-cleared source. Make a stable playlist or other continuous programme from recordings cleared for live use. Arrange the encoder or playback system to continue or restart the programme when it reaches the end, and decide who will monitor the stream and respond to interruptions.
- Create the stream in YouTube Studio. Create a stream using YouTube’s encoder workflow. Copy the server URL and stream key shown for it; keep the key private because it authorizes an encoder to send to your stream.
- Configure the encoder’s YouTube output. Choose RTMPS where available, then enter YouTube’s server URL and stream key. Google Cloud’s preference for SRT as input to its own Live Stream API is a separate recommendation for that service; it is not YouTube’s general ingest recommendation. Google Cloud explains its input guidance at its best-practices page.
- Choose compatible video and audio settings. YouTube’s current encoder guidance lists H.264, H.265/HEVC, and AV1, up to 60 fps, and constant bitrate. It recommends a two-second keyframe frequency and says not to exceed four seconds. For stereo audio, its advanced settings list 44.1 kHz and 128 Kbps; AAC and MP3 are supported audio options. Select a video bitrate that fits both the chosen format and your actual sustained upload capacity. The cited guidance does not justify a single bitrate for every resolution and connection.
- Keep the picture no more complex than it needs to be. For a static artwork image with music, a high frame rate does not add useful motion. Choose the resolution and frame rate for the visuals you actually broadcast, and test the complete chain before relying on it for a continuous stream.
- Start transmission and verify it in YouTube Studio. Start the encoder, confirm YouTube is receiving the feed, and check the audio and picture before leaving it unattended. Monitor for ingest loss, encoder failure, and copyright notices, and have a restart path ready.
- Plan for long-running sessions and archives. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; that does not establish indefinite archiving for a 24/7 stream. If using Google Cloud Live Stream API, plan for a channel in the streaming state to be restarted after 24 hours, as stated in its quota documentation. A continuous service needs monitoring and a defined restart or recovery procedure.
Optional hardware encoder
YouTube lists Blackmagic Web Presenter 4K as a hardware streaming solution capable of streaming directly to YouTube up to 2160p60. That can be more equipment than a simple static-image music loop needs; choose hardware only if its production workflow suits your setup. The cited information establishes capability, not a comparative test. Details are in YouTube’s encoder guide.

What to budget for continuous operation
Cloud processing and delivery
For AWS or Google Cloud, do not compare only the encoder line item: the architecture may also involve storage, packaging, delivery, backup inputs, and monitoring. The cited sources do not provide a workload-specific estimate or a comparable India-only price table. Build a current estimate for your chosen design, bitrate, running time, delivery path, and region before committing.

Estimate upload time before launch
For a large music library, upload time can delay the start of a playlist even when the stream itself is ready. StreamNeo provides a free upload-time calculator and a cloud-versus-PC cost calculator to help plan those practical trade-offs.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Troubleshoot the problems most likely to stop the broadcast
- YouTube is not receiving the encoder feed: Confirm the correct server URL and stream key are entered, the encoder is sending to the intended stream, and your upstream connection can sustain the selected bitrate. Recheck RTMPS settings if your encoder exposes a separate server protocol choice.
- The feed disconnects or becomes unstable: Look for encoder or network interruptions, reduce the bitrate if the connection cannot sustain it, and test again. Keep a restart procedure and someone responsible for monitoring; a direct encoder depends on the operator’s equipment and connection remaining available.
- The stream is interrupted after a music match: Check YouTube’s notice and identify the matched material. Do not simply restart with the same track. Resolve the rights issue with the rights holder, including any required Content ID allowlisting, before resuming.
- A Google Cloud channel stops after a long run: Check the channel’s streaming duration and quota behavior. Google says a channel may be restarted after 24 hours in a streaming state; build a restart and monitoring step into the deployment.
- The expected archive is missing or incomplete: YouTube’s cited automatic-archive statement applies to streams under 12 hours; it does not promise an indefinite recording for a 24/7 broadcast. Keep an independent recording if an archive is required.
Useful checks for Indian music channels
The technical ingest workflow is YouTube’s encoder workflow; the sources cited here do not establish a special India-only streaming protocol or an India-specific cloud-service winner. Music permissions still need to cover your actual catalogue and live use. For StreamNeo purchases in India, UPI works alongside cards; the displayed price adapts to the visitor’s location.
