If you want the VOD to repeat continuously, turn on YouTube’s Loop or Repeat control. This only works when the creator has made an accessible replay available.
Find and watch the finished VOD
- Open the creator’s YouTube channel and check its videos or Live area for the stream. YouTube treats a finished-stream replay as a video on the channel. YouTube Help: Learn about live streams.
- Open the replay and watch it in YouTube’s player. To start over, use the video timeline or restart playback.
A replay is available only if the channel published an archive and left it accessible. The creator may not have an archive, may have removed it, or may have set it to private or unlisted. YouTube says creators can change archive visibility in Studio. If you cannot find the full VOD, check the channel’s playlists or highlights, or ask the creator for a replay link. Make the VOD repeat
If by “rerun” you mean continuous playback rather than simply watching from the beginning, use YouTube’s Loop or Repeat control. YouTube documents looping a video or playlist, with the control’s presentation varying by device:
- Computer: right-click the video player and select Loop.
- Phone or tablet: use the player’s repeat option; the exact presentation can vary by app and device.
- TV or gaming console: use the Repeat control described in YouTube’s guidance.
You can also loop a playlist if you want multiple VODs to play in sequence and repeat. See YouTube Help: Loop videos or playlists on YouTube for the supported player controls.

If the broadcast is still live: use DVR
DVR is for pausing or rewinding a broadcast that is still live; it is not the same as opening a finished replay. YouTube describes DVR as letting viewers “pause, rewind, and continue during the live stream.” It does not let you seek to a point before the broadcast began, and its rewind range may be limited or unavailable for streams longer than 12 hours. Devices and older app versions can also have lower limits. YouTube Help: Turn on DVR on live streams.
Why a gaming VOD may be missing
YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, while streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. This is not a guarantee that a shorter stream will remain viewable: the creator’s visibility settings or deletion choices still apply. YouTube Help: Archive live streams.

If the replay is missing, there is no viewer-side setting that can create an archive from the player. Look for a creator-posted highlight or ask for the replay link. A Clip is only an excerpt: YouTube Clips are 5–60 seconds long, and clipping livestreams depends on DVR and timing. Clips loop from the original video’s watch page; one outside the DVR window may not be playable until the stream ends and the original video is posted.
