To run your own cartoons as a continuous YouTube Live broadcast, send a repeating program feed from an encoder or cloud service to YouTube Live. Uploading episodes to YouTube by itself does not create a live stream. You can run the encoder on a computer you leave on, or use StreamNeo to play uploaded videos from the cloud.
What you need before starting
- A YouTube channel that is verified and eligible to live stream. YouTube says you need to verify your channel and have no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. Its Help page also lists a minimum age of 16 for live streaming. YouTube Help: Get started with live streaming
- Your own cartoon episodes or shorts, assembled into a repeatable sequence in the encoder or hosting service you choose.
- An encoder-based workflow. YouTube identifies encoder streaming as an option for sending a program feed; OBS is one software option, with guidance in its official help portal.
- A reliable internet connection and access to YouTube Live’s current encoder setup screen.
Make a continuous cartoon stream from a computer
- Prepare the cartoon playlist. Put the episodes and shorts you have the rights to stream in the order you want. In your chosen encoder, configure a repeatable media sequence or playlist. Looping controls vary by software and version, so check that tool’s current documentation rather than assuming a particular menu or setting. Keep local copies of both the source files and the playlist.
- Check YouTube Live eligibility. Confirm your channel is verified and has no live-streaming restrictions from the previous 90 days. YouTube lists a minimum age of 16 for live streaming. If the channel is not eligible, resolve that before configuring an encoder.
- Create or open a live stream in YouTube Studio. Use YouTube’s current live control room and encoder setup screen. Follow the stream’s displayed connection details and enter them in your encoder. Treat the stream key as private: anyone with access to it may be able to send a feed to that broadcast.
- Configure the encoder connection. YouTube documents RTMPS as a secure ingestion method. Use the server and key details shown by YouTube, and follow its current protocol instructions at YouTube’s RTMPS ingestion guide. Exact resolution, frame rate, bitrate, and keyframe values are not established here; consult YouTube’s current encoder guidance and the documentation for your chosen software instead of relying on guessed settings.
- Start the encoder and verify the feed. Start the repeating cartoon sequence, then check the live control room for an incoming signal and confirm the picture and sound are correct before making the broadcast public. Keep an eye on the dashboard for interruptions and be ready to restart or reconnect the encoder if the feed stops.
- Keep the computer and connection running. With local hosting, the encoder depends on that computer, its power, and its internet connection remaining available. A sleep setting, restart, software crash, or network outage can stop the feed. Plan how you will notice and recover from a failure.
Protect the stream from copyright interruptions
YouTube requires live content to follow its Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. Its live scanning can detect third-party content and interrupt a broadcast. Use cartoons, music, voices, and other assets you created or have permission to stream. A license for a third-party song or clip may not be enough to prevent an interruption if the rights owner has not added your channel to its Content ID allowlist. See YouTube Help on live-streaming copyright.
Before starting a long-running stream, check every episode and the audio track, including any opening, closing, or background music. If you rely on third-party permissions, confirm that they cover live streaming on YouTube and ask the rights owner about Content ID allowlisting where relevant. Do not assume that a video being available for ordinary upload means it is cleared for a continuous live broadcast.
Know YouTube’s concurrency limits
YouTube Help lists limits of 10 active streams per channel and 3 per stream key, with both limits applying at once. These are limits on concurrent streams; they do not establish a maximum duration or guarantee that any one broadcast can run indefinitely. A 24/7 schedule still depends on a functioning feed and YouTube’s applicable rules.

Common problems and what to check
- YouTube does not show an incoming feed: Check that the encoder is running and that its server address and stream key match the current details in YouTube’s live setup screen.
- The feed starts, then stops: On a local setup, check for computer sleep, power loss, encoder crashes, or an unstable internet connection. On any workflow, inspect YouTube’s live dashboard for the stream status and reconnect or restart the feed as needed.
- A cartoon or song triggers an interruption: Review the live dashboard and identify the flagged content. Remove or replace material you do not control; if you have a license, check its scope and ask the rights owner about Content ID allowlisting.
- The playlist ends instead of repeating: Recheck the repeat or loop configuration in your encoder or hosting service’s current documentation, then test the sequence before relying on it for a continuous broadcast.
- You cannot start another stream: Check whether you have reached YouTube’s concurrent-stream caps: 10 active streams per channel and 3 per stream key, both at once.
