Google Cloud Compute Engine is a practical India-region candidate to shortlist for a remote 4K60 YouTube Live encoder, not a proven best-performing or best-value service. Google lists GPU machine types in Mumbai and Delhi, but zone-level capacity, quota, encoder performance and YouTube-bound network quality must be checked and tested for the exact setup. For a channel that needs uploaded videos to loop continuously rather than a remote workstation for a live camera or game capture, StreamNeo is a different, managed option: it runs the YouTube stream from the cloud without leaving a PC on.

Which cloud service should you shortlist?

For a GPU-powered remote workstation in India, start by checking Google Cloud Compute Engine. Google’s official GPU location matrix lists GPU machine types in Mumbai (asia-south1) and Delhi (asia-south2). This confirms regional listings, not that a particular GPU is in stock, available under your quota, or able to encode your chosen 4K60 source in real time.

The available evidence does not establish a like-for-like winner among Google Cloud, AWS, Azure or other cloud providers for Indian-region 4K60 YouTube streaming. There is no verified comparison here of current GPU inventory, sustained encoding throughput, YouTube ingest routes or full session costs. Treat Google Cloud as a candidate to provision and test, not a benchmark-proven winner.

First decide whether you need a GPU workstation or a streaming service

A cloud GPU virtual machine (VM) can host desktop encoding software such as OBS when the chosen instance, operating system, drivers and hardware encoder support the workflow. You also need a way to capture or deliver the source into that VM. A managed live-media API is a different kind of component; do not assume it is a remote OBS desktop or a direct-to-YouTube service unless its input, output and broadcast workflow are confirmed.

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

If the source is a live camera, game capture or other live production input, a VM-based encoder may fit. If you want previously uploaded videos played in a continuous YouTube loop, a cloud service such as StreamNeo addresses that separate use case; it does not stream a live camera feed.

What YouTube requires for 4K60

YouTube’s encoder settings guidance lists 4K (2160p) at up to 60 frames per second. For 4K60, it recommends H.264 at 35 Mbps; for AV1 and H.265, it lists a 10–40 Mbps range. These are codec-specific settings in YouTube’s guidance, not a guarantee that a particular cloud VM can encode or deliver them reliably. Check the current YouTube guidance and the options available for your chosen ingest protocol and stream configuration before configuring the encoder.

Settings to check in the encoder

  • Resolution and frame rate: 3840 × 2160 at 60 fps, if your source and encoder can sustain it.
  • Codec and bitrate: Choose H.264, H.265 or AV1 only if the encoder and YouTube ingest configuration support it. For 4K60, YouTube’s cited guidance recommends H.264 at 35 Mbps and gives AV1/H.265 a 10–40 Mbps range.
  • Rate control: Use constant bitrate (CBR), which YouTube lists among its encoder requirements.
  • Keyframes: Set a two-second interval; YouTube says not to exceed four seconds.
  • Protocol: YouTube recommends RTMPS, its encrypted streaming path. Confirm your encoder supports the protocol and protect the stream key.
  • Upload capacity: The VM’s sustained outbound connection must exceed the selected video bitrate with headroom for audio and network variation. A GPU location listing alone says nothing about that route or its stability.

YouTube says to select a quality reliable for the available connection and recommends a speed test. For a 4K stream, test the actual VM and route to YouTube rather than relying on a provider’s generic network or GPU specifications.

Expect normal latency at 4K

YouTube’s guidance says the low-latency option is unavailable for 4K/2160p streams; 4K uses normal latency. If viewers need near-real-time interaction, account for that limitation before choosing 4K.

How to evaluate a cloud GPU in India

Check each of these items for the exact zone, instance and workflow you intend to use. Machine-family names or regional listings do not by themselves establish that an instance has a suitable hardware encoder or enough capacity for your source.

  • Zone, quota and capacity: Confirm the desired GPU type can be provisioned in the chosen Mumbai or Delhi zone under your account quota. Availability is zone- and time-dependent.
  • Hardware and codec support: Verify the actual GPU, driver and OS support hardware encoding for the codec you plan to send—H.264, H.265 or AV1. Do not infer encoder capability or speed from a family name alone.
  • Source workflow: Confirm the VM can receive or capture your intended input and run the chosen encoder. A GPU VM is not automatically connected to a local camera, console or gaming PC.
  • Outbound route: Measure sustained upload from the provisioned VM to YouTube ingest with margin above your target bitrate. The GPU’s Indian location does not prove a stable route.
  • Operating cost: Work out the total for compute runtime, disks or other storage, and network egress for the complete session. Rates and charges vary; check current provider pricing rather than relying on an unverified estimate.
  • Operations and credentials: Plan how the VM and encoder start, recover after interruption, are monitored, and store the YouTube stream key securely.
  • Latency: Set expectations for normal YouTube latency at 4K; the low-latency option is unavailable at that resolution.

Preflight before a real broadcast

YouTube’s official encoder guidance says, “Make sure to test before you start your live stream.” Run the test from the intended VM, in the intended zone and over the actual network path.

  1. Confirm the instance: Provision the intended GPU and verify its driver, operating system and hardware-encoder support for your codec.
  2. Check the source path: Send or capture the same type of video you will use on air. Look for input interruptions before assessing encoding performance.
  3. Configure the stream: Set the 4K60 resolution and frame rate, codec-specific bitrate, CBR, two-second keyframes and RTMPS where supported by your workflow and YouTube’s current configuration.
  4. Test realistic content: Include motion and audio comparable to the real event. Check for dropped or lagged frames, audio/video sync problems and whether outbound throughput remains stable above the target bitrate.
  5. Verify YouTube ingest: Connect to the correct YouTube ingest destination using the stream key for the intended broadcast. Treat the key like a password; do not put it in public logs, screenshots or shared configuration.
  6. Monitor the test: Review stream health and YouTube Live Control Room messages. YouTube advises: “During the event, monitor the stream health and review messages.”

A short test with comparable content and the final network path is more informative than a provider’s general GPU specification. No cloud VM or live stream has been independently tested for this article, so actual results depend on your instance, configuration and route.
