Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →For a 24/7 YouTube stream from India, choose a bitrate from YouTube’s live-ingestion recommendations for your codec, resolution and frame rate, then keep at least 20% upload headroom. A practical H.264 starting point is CBR at 1080p30 and 14 Mbps, or 1080p60 and 17 Mbps, with a 2-second keyframe interval and RTMPS. YouTube does not publish a separate India bitrate table: the upload connection where the stream actually runs is what matters.
Recommended YouTube live bitrates
The figures below are YouTube’s recommended live-ingestion rates, not bitrate guidance for uploading a finished video. Use the row matching the stream sent to YouTube. Minimum rates are technical floors, not quality targets.
| Resolution and frame rate | AV1 or H.265/HEVC recommended | H.264 recommended | H.264 minimum | AV1/H.265 minimum |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1080p60 | 12 Mbps | 17 Mbps | 6 Mbps | 4 Mbps |
| 1080p30 | 10 Mbps | 14 Mbps | 5 Mbps | 4 Mbps |
| 720p60 | 6 Mbps | 8 Mbps | 3 Mbps | 2 Mbps |
| 720p30 | 6 Mbps | 8 Mbps | 3 Mbps | 2 Mbps |
| 480p30 | 3 Mbps | 4 Mbps | 0.4 Mbps | 0.3 Mbps |
| 360p30 | 3 Mbps | 4 Mbps | 0.4 Mbps | 0.3 Mbps |
YouTube also lists higher-resolution recommendations: for H.264, 21 Mbps at 1440p30, 34 Mbps at 1440p60, 42 Mbps at 2160p30 and 50 Mbps at 2160p60; for AV1 or H.265, the corresponding figures are 15, 24, 30 and 35 Mbps. These rates make sense only if the source, encoder and sustained outbound connection can support them. See YouTube’s live encoder settings for the current full table.
Set the encoder for a stable stream
For a broadly compatible setup, start with H.264, CBR and RTMPS. YouTube supports H.264, H.265/HEVC and AV1; use the latter two only if your encoder and streaming workflow support the chosen codec. The bitrate recommendations differ by codec.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Protocol: RTMP or RTMPS; YouTube recommends RTMPS, which encrypts stream data on its way to and through Google’s servers.
- Rate control: CBR, or constant bitrate.
- Keyframes: Set a 2-second interval. Do not exceed 4 seconds.
- Frame rate: YouTube supports up to 60 fps. Match the source and the selected bitrate row.
- Audio: AAC or MP3. For stereo, YouTube recommends AAC at 44.1 kHz and 128 kbps; for 5.1, use AAC at 48 kHz and 384 kbps.
- SDR colour: Rec. 709, 8-bit SDR.
YouTube transcodes live video into multiple output formats for viewers. Your encoder sends an ingestion stream; it is not the same as a viewer’s playback bitrate.
Calculate upload capacity with headroom
YouTube says the total bitrate of the stream or streams must fit within available upload bandwidth and recommends leaving 20% room. This is outbound capacity, not download speed. Shared network use can reduce the bandwidth available to the stream; if sending a backup feed, count its bitrate too.

For example, a single 14 Mbps stream needs about 17.5 Mbps of consistently available upload capacity when applying YouTube’s 20% margin: 14 ÷ 0.8 = 17.5. This is a calculation from YouTube’s margin, not a guaranteed ISP package speed or an India-specific requirement. Add a backup stream’s target bitrate to the total before applying the margin.
Test the connection where the stream will run
- Check outbound upload capacity at the actual streaming location, not just the advertised plan or download-speed result.
- Repeat tests at representative busy times and with normal household, venue or office network use present.
- Test with audio and movement similar to the intended stream; YouTube advises testing before going live.
- While live, monitor stream health and YouTube’s messages. A brief speed-test peak does not show that a connection will remain stable around the clock.
If capacity varies or is shared, step down to a resolution and bitrate the connection can sustain with headroom. YouTube’s network guidance is at Streaming tips; testing and health monitoring are also covered in its encoder settings guidance.

What streaming from India changes
The cited YouTube recommendations depend on codec, resolution and frame rate, not country. They do not establish a special India bitrate, minimum plan speed, preferred ISP or regional RTMP server choice. Measure reliable upload capacity at the specific Indian venue or connection that will run the broadcast. Provider, location, congestion, time of day and other network users can all affect what is sustainable.
Keep a 24/7 broadcast running
For a do-it-yourself broadcast, configure the encoder with the settings above, enter the stream key from YouTube’s live-stream setup, and start sending the feed. YouTube’s encoder workflow is described in Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder. Protect the stream key: anyone who has it may be able to send video to your broadcast.

Check copyright and archive expectations
- Use video and audio you have the rights to stream. A long-running broadcast does not exempt it from copyright rules or YouTube’s policies.
- YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Its setup guidance does not establish that one uninterrupted 24/7 broadcast will be saved as a single complete archive. If a full record matters, verify current YouTube behavior and maintain an independent local or cloud recording workflow.
Common bitrate and connection problems
- Dropped frames or unstable stream health: The outbound connection may not sustain the total stream bitrate, particularly during congestion or shared use. Retest at busy times and lower resolution or bitrate to restore headroom.
- Encoder reports a bitrate but YouTube warns about the stream: Check that the selected resolution, frame rate and codec match the intended profile, and verify outbound capacity rather than download speed.
- Stream fails to connect: Confirm the selected RTMP/RTMPS server and current stream key in the encoder and YouTube setup. If the key was exposed, replace it in YouTube and update the encoder.
- Video looks poor despite reaching the minimum: Minimum bitrate is not the recommended target. If capacity allows, use YouTube’s recommended rate for the selected profile; otherwise choose a lower resolution that fits the connection reliably.
- Broadcast runs but no complete 24-hour archive appears: YouTube documents automatic archiving for streams under 12 hours, not a guarantee of one full-day archive. Arrange separate recording if required.
