YouTube says a livestream’s video-level Analytics metrics are available within minutes after the stream ends. That timing does not apply to the Earn tab’s qualified public watch-hour counter: YouTube does not publish a fixed refresh interval for that total.
Analytics watch time and Earn-tab hours are different metrics
In YouTube Studio, a livestream’s Analytics report shows performance data, including watch time. YouTube says video-level metrics are available in YouTube Analytics within minutes after the stream ends. The report is based on the video ID, and its processed, despammed data can differ from information in Live Control Room. See YouTube’s live stream metrics guidance.
The Earn tab answers a different question: how many qualified public watch hours count toward YouTube Partner Program (YPP) eligibility. A figure in Analytics is not necessarily the same as the number of hours that qualify for that threshold.
How to check whether your stream’s hours qualify
- Check the stream’s Analytics. Open the livestream’s video-level report in YouTube Analytics and look at Watch Time to see its performance metrics.
- Check the Earn tab separately. Use the eligibility progress shown in YouTube Studio’s Earn tab for the qualified public watch-hour total. Do not treat the Analytics figure as a direct substitute.
- Verify the livestream’s status. For the YPP public watch-hour threshold, the livestream must remain public and be converted to a video on demand (VOD). YouTube excludes livestreams that are unlisted, deleted, or not converted to VOD.
YouTube’s YPP eligibility guidance sets out these qualifications. If Analytics shows watch time but the Earn-tab total is lower, first check the video’s visibility and whether the archive is available as a VOD.

How long should you wait for the Earn-tab counter?
YouTube’s official pages do not specify a fixed refresh time for qualified public watch hours in the Earn tab. Its general guidance says engagement metrics may take time to appear while systems verify legitimate activity, but it does not promise a particular delay for this eligibility counter. YouTube’s guidance on how engagement metrics are counted should not be read as an Earn-tab service-level guarantee.
In particular, YouTube does not establish a 24-hour or 48–72-hour deadline for these hours to appear. The only specific timing in the cited livestream guidance—within minutes after the stream ends—refers to video-level Analytics, not the Earn-tab total.

Which watch-hour threshold applies to YPP?
YouTube lists two routes to YPP eligibility: 1,000 subscribers plus 4,000 qualified public watch hours from long-form content in the last 12 months, or 1,000 subscribers plus 10 million qualified public Shorts views in the last 90 days. Watch time from views in the Shorts feed does not count toward the 4,000-hour threshold. These are eligibility requirements, not estimates for how quickly a stream’s hours update.
Do not confuse the counter with application review
YouTube says YPP applications are typically reviewed in about one month after applying. That estimate concerns the review of an application; it does not describe when livestream hours appear in the Earn tab.
