For a 24/7 prerecorded YouTube stream, the best Indian cloud service depends on whether you want to operate a continuous encoder yourself or build a managed video pipeline. AWS, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure all have India-region infrastructure, but their published live-video guidance is not proof of a turnkey, lowest-cost YouTube relay. For a straightforward cloud-hosted loop, StreamNeo is the first option to consider: upload a video, add your YouTube stream key and go live, without leaving a home computer on.
If you want to manage the infrastructure yourself, compare a cloud VM that plays and sends your file to YouTube against managed media services. Budget for continuous compute, outbound data, storage, recovery and your own monitoring—not just the VM’s hourly rate.
Start with the streaming approach, not the provider name
There are two different cloud jobs that are easy to confuse:
- Cloud VM relay: a virtual machine runs an encoder or playback process that sends a continuous feed to YouTube. You configure the software, stream key, monitoring and recovery.
- Managed video pipeline: cloud media services ingest and process a live feed, often for delivery to viewers through the provider’s own CDN. That is not automatically a ready-to-use YouTube ingest relay.
AWS documents both video-on-demand and live workflows, including 24×7 live-channel architectures, but the YouTube ingest path still needs to be designed and tested for your use case. Its broader live-streaming guidance describes AWS Elemental components and CloudFront. AWS video on demand and live streaming video with CloudFront and Guidance for Live Streaming on AWS explain those architectures.

Google Cloud’s Live Stream API is a managed service for transcoding live linear video, not the same thing as a VM looping a prerecorded file into YouTube. Microsoft’s cited materials establish an India region and bandwidth pricing, but do not establish an Azure-native turnkey YouTube relay. Treat each provider’s regional availability as a starting point, then verify the exact product, machine type, quota and output design before committing.
Compare the India-region options
| Option | India-region evidence | What it could suit | What to verify |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. StreamNeo | Cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos. | Creators who want a managed prerecorded-video loop without maintaining their own VM or encoder. | It streams to YouTube only. Confirm that its uploaded-video workflow meets your channel’s content and operational needs. |
| AWS | AWS lists Mumbai and Hyderabad infrastructure. Its documentation covers VOD and live workflows, including 24×7 live channels. | Operators who want to build and maintain a VM relay or a broader AWS media pipeline. | Whether a VM relay or Media Services pipeline is appropriate; service and instance availability; outbound transfer charges; and restart design. |
| Google Cloud | Google Cloud lists Mumbai and Delhi compute regions. Its Live Stream API documentation describes managed transcoding for live linear video. | Operators evaluating a VM relay or the managed Live Stream API where available and appropriate. | Exact API availability and quota in the chosen location; a VM’s continuous runtime and network cost; and monitoring or restart handling for managed channels. |
| Microsoft Azure | Microsoft announced general availability of its India South Central region in Hyderabad on August 6, 2026. | Operators already building on Azure who can validate and operate a YouTube relay architecture. | Exact service availability, continuous VM cost and outbound traffic. The cited material does not establish a turnkey Azure-native YouTube relay. |
Regional presence does not establish which provider is fastest or cheapest for your stream. The feed travels from your cloud workload to YouTube ingest; YouTube then distributes it to viewers. Creator location, ingest route and viewer geography are distinct factors, and the cited provider sources do not offer comparative real-world latency tests for this workload.

Choose between managed streaming and a self-managed VM
Choose a managed service when reducing operational work matters most
A managed option can reduce the amount of playback, encoding and process supervision you operate yourself, but it does not eliminate the need to understand the stream’s output path, cost or recovery behavior. Google Cloud says a Live Stream API channel may be restarted after 24 hours in a state other than STOPPED or STOPPING. If you use that API, plan monitoring and restart handling rather than assuming a session runs indefinitely. Google Cloud Live Stream API quotas and limits documents the session behavior.

Choose a VM relay when you need control and can own the maintenance
A VM gives you a place to run the playback and encoding process, but you remain responsible for configuring it, keeping it alive, detecting a stalled feed and recovering when the process or YouTube connection fails. It is not automatically cheaper than a managed service once you count network transfer, storage, redundancy and operator time.
Choose based on what the stream actually needs
- For a simple loop of an already encoded file, determine whether a managed service accepts and outputs the workflow you need, or whether a VM relay is more appropriate.
- If you need overlays, generated scenes, live switching or cloud transcoding, include those requirements in the design and cost comparison.
- If interruptions are costly, budget for monitoring and a tested recovery plan rather than relying on the word “24/7” in an architecture description.
Estimate the real monthly cost
There is no defensible universal monthly price winner without your stream assumptions and current calculator inputs. Google Cloud publishes compute prices by region and charges for network transfer; Azure prices bandwidth separately. A VM sticker price alone is not a full bill. Google Cloud general purpose VM pricing, Google Cloud network pricing and Azure bandwidth pricing describe relevant cost components. Azure notes that its listed bandwidth estimates are not actual quotes.

Collect these inputs before using a calculator
- Output resolution, frame rate and target bitrate.
- Whether you are looping a file, playing a playlist or generating a scene—and whether overlays or live switching are required.
- Whether the source is already encoded appropriately or needs cloud transcoding.
- Number of simultaneous channels, intended monthly running time and acceptable interruption duration.
- Chosen cloud region, expected outbound data transfer, storage and any backup copy.
- Whether you need a second instance or region for recovery.
- How much operator time you can devote to setup, alerts, updates and troubleshooting.
Calculate and compare on the same basis
- Estimate the feed volume. Use your planned output bitrate and the hours streamed to estimate the volume sent from the cloud to YouTube. Include protocol overhead when selecting a safety margin; do not assume the bitrate alone equals billable transfer.
- Price continuous compute. Use the price for the exact VM type and India region you intend to run, multiplied by the hours you expect it to stay on.
- Add storage and media processing. Include source-file storage, backup storage and any transcoding or packaging service you actually use.
- Add transfer and resilience. Check outbound network charges and include any standby instance, second region or other recovery component.
- Compare the operating burden. Account for the time required to monitor, update and restore a self-managed stream, as well as the fee for any managed service.
- Recheck before deployment. Cloud pricing, regional availability, service quotas and machine availability can change; recalculate with the provider’s current pages and your exact configuration.
Make a self-managed 24/7 relay recoverable
A continuous VM process is an operational target, not a guarantee of uninterrupted output. For a self-managed setup, treat supervision, health checks and recovery as part of the design.
- Protect the stream key. Store it as a secret, limit who can access it and avoid putting it in public scripts, screenshots or logs. Rotate it if it is exposed.
- Supervise the playback process. Configure a service manager or equivalent process supervisor to restart a crashed encoder, and test that behavior deliberately.
- Check stream health. Alert on a stopped process, missing output or a YouTube stream that is no longer receiving data. A running process alone does not prove that YouTube is receiving a healthy feed.
- Plan for session and connection recovery. Document how to reconnect, restart the source and confirm the stream is live after a dropped connection or a provider-side restart.
- Test before relying on it. Run a trial long enough to exercise your loop and recovery steps, then simulate a process failure. Record who receives alerts and what action to take.
- Keep a runbook. Include the VM and region, playback command or service, key rotation procedure, alert contacts and recovery steps—without writing the actual stream key into the runbook.
Check YouTube eligibility, content and rights
YouTube’s live-streaming help page says a channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. YouTube lists several supported ways to stream, including an encoder; using a cloud VM is one implementation of an encoder workflow, not a separate eligibility route. Review YouTube’s live-streaming requirements before setup.

Live content must comply with YouTube’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service, and YouTube may restrict live-streaming access. A prerecorded video does not bypass content or rights requirements. YouTube’s Livestream terms and conditions state: “You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights for the exploitation of the Live Content on the Google Services throughout the world, including, without limitation, music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers (including public performance licenses) and any other royalty participants.” Read YouTube’s Livestream terms and conditions; this is not legal advice.
For a gaming channel, check rights for gameplay footage, music, overlays and any third-party material in the recording. Having a copy of a video or permission to upload it does not by itself establish that you hold every right needed for a continuous live broadcast. Also consider whether a repetitive prerecorded stream provides value to viewers and complies with YouTube’s channel policies; technical availability is not a promise of monetization or platform approval.
