Muvi Live can serve as a hosted live-streaming layer in a YouTube broadcast chain, but its public documentation does not establish that it will keep a YouTube stream uninterrupted around the clock. Its described workflow relies on an encoder and platform configuration; YouTube’s archive and DVR limits also complicate a single continuous broadcast. Whether Muvi fits depends on whether you need its hosted delivery and related platform features enough to justify the plan and infrastructure costs—and whether you can provide a documented recovery and recording plan.
What Muvi Live does—and what a 24/7 claim proves
Muvi describes a workflow in which you create and configure a live stream, retrieve its stream URL and key, connect streaming software or an encoder, and start the broadcast. Its product materials advertise integration with YouTube and other social platforms, including simulcasting. See Muvi’s workflow overview and Muvi Live’s platform page.
That makes Muvi a possible hosted component in a continuous broadcast chain, not evidence that the entire chain will stay online 24/7. The official pages reviewed do not document a complete, continuous YouTube configuration, provide independent end-to-end uptime evidence, or identify hardware encoders verified by Muvi. Muvi’s statements about unlimited live streaming, 24/7 support, and 24/7 use cases are vendor claims, not independent measurements of successful uninterrupted YouTube delivery. See Muvi’s feature claims and its getting-started guide.
How the Muvi-to-YouTube workflow is described
- Set up a live stream in Muvi. Configure the stream in Muvi and retrieve the URL and key for the encoder workflow described in its materials.
- Configure an encoder and destination. YouTube’s encoder guide says to enter YouTube’s server URL and stream key in an encoder. Muvi describes encoder configuration and social integration, but the pages reviewed do not specify a complete tested recipe for routing a continuous Muvi stream to YouTube. Confirm the actual destination settings and responsibilities with Muvi before building a production setup. See YouTube’s encoder instructions.
- Start the broadcast and monitor the whole chain. A successful start does not establish an unattended recovery plan. Confirm which component detects a dropped connection, how it reconnects, and who is responsible if the source, encoder, Muvi service, or YouTube connection stops.
YouTube allows software or standalone hardware encoders, but no particular hardware model is established as Muvi-certified. If considering a hardware encoder, verify its required RTMP settings and Muvi compatibility before buying; Muvi’s general encoder workflow is not certification of a specific device.

Costs and capacity to confirm
Muvi’s pricing page, accessed in 2026, lists the following base prices and monthly allowances. The same page says each active live streaming server costs $0.50 per hour. These are Muvi-published commercial figures, not an independent quote or a full cost estimate. Check the current terms and ask Muvi to estimate infrastructure charges for your bitrate, audience, stream count, and continuous hours. Viewer delivery, storage, and overages may affect the total. Source: Muvi Live pricing and plans.
| Muvi tier | Base price listed by Muvi (2026) | Monthly bandwidth listed | Monthly streaming hours listed | Concurrent users listed | Concurrent events listed |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | $99/month, plus infrastructure fees | 100 GB | 10 hours | 10,000 | 2 |
| Professional | $299/month, plus infrastructure fees | 500 GB | 50 hours | 50,000 | 100 |
| Enterprise | $799/month, plus infrastructure fees | 1 TB | 100 hours | 50,000+ | Unlimited |
Muvi’s pricing FAQ lists a $0.50 charge per active streaming-server hour. A single continuously active server would accrue 24 active hours per day before other fees, but that arithmetic is not a quote: the actual server count, billing treatment, applicable infrastructure fees, and any overages need confirmation. The pricing page’s feature marketing and comparison details should be checked with Muvi for your intended setup, particularly if concurrent audience or events matter.

YouTube rules that affect a continuous broadcast
Channel eligibility and stream limits
YouTube’s current Help guidance requires a verified channel with no live-stream restriction in the previous 90 days. It sets the minimum age for live streaming at 16 and allows up to 10 active streams per channel and 3 per stream key. These are YouTube limits, independent of Muvi’s plan capacity. Check YouTube’s live-stream setup guidance for current requirements.
Archiving a stream over 12 hours
YouTube says a live stream under 12 hours can be automatically archived, but warns: “If your stream exceeds 12 hours, it may not be captured at all.” It recommends keeping a local archive. That means a single uninterrupted 24/7 broadcast should not be treated as a reliable way to create a complete YouTube replay. Plan how the source or production system will record the content locally and how you will preserve or publish recordings separately. See YouTube’s archive guidance.

DVR and rewind
YouTube says DVR rewind may be limited or unavailable for live streams longer than 12 hours. If viewers need to rewind a long-running broadcast, confirm the expected experience and consider whether shorter broadcast segments better meet that need. See YouTube’s DVR guidance.
Is Muvi Live a fit for 24/7 YouTube streaming?
- Consider it when you specifically need Muvi’s hosted delivery, player or embedding, recording, monetization, or multi-destination capabilities, and can validate the integration and operating costs for your setup.
- Compare it with a direct YouTube encoder workflow if you only need to send a live feed to YouTube. YouTube documents its encoder setup, while Muvi adds a platform layer and associated plan and infrastructure costs; the available documentation does not establish a universal advantage for either path.
- Do not treat either setup as self-proving redundancy. Before relying on Muvi for a mission-critical continuous channel, ask about service-level terms, reconnect behavior, compatibility with your chosen encoder, and who handles failures. Decide how you will retain a local archive and recover the broadcast.
Muvi’s app help page describes a separate option for broadcasting from an Android or iOS camera and sharing the generated HLS output. It states latency is approximately under nine seconds and recommends 30 fps for most cases and 60 fps for games or sports. Those app details do not establish the app as a suitable source for an unattended continuous broadcast. See Muvi’s mobile-app instructions.
