Streamlabs Mobile is documented for streaming a phone’s camera or screen to YouTube—not for looping a prerecorded video file unattended 24/7. If you want an existing video to repeat continuously, use a computer encoder that supports file playback and looping, or a hosted service built for continuous YouTube streams. If you use Streamlabs Mobile, treat it as a live camera or screen-broadcast workflow, not a verified prerecorded-playlist solution.
First, identify what you want to stream
A prerecorded video file
If you want a video saved on your device to play repeatedly as a YouTube live stream, you need an encoder or hosted service that explicitly supports file playback and looping. Streamlabs Mobile’s published guides describe selecting a camera or sharing a phone screen; they do not document a local-file looping source for unattended 24/7 broadcasting. Streamlabs’ phone-streaming guide and its mobile guide can help with mobile broadcasting, but do not establish that file-looping feature.
A phone camera or screen
For a live camera feed, or a phone screen broadcast, Streamlabs Mobile is a relevant workflow. Screen sharing a video-playing app is not the same as selecting a local file as a repeatable source: it depends on the phone, app behavior, power, network, and continued operation. Do not rely on it as an unattended 24/7 loop unless the current app documentation explicitly supports your intended source and operating conditions.
Can Streamlabs Mobile stream prerecorded videos 24/7?
Not on the basis of the published Streamlabs Mobile instructions. Those instructions cover camera and screen broadcasts and mobile scene and output settings; they do not confirm a built-in playlist or local-video loop source for continuous unattended streaming. For prerecorded files, select a computer encoder or hosted service whose current documentation explicitly supports file playback, looping, and YouTube output.

Streamlabs says its app does not impose its own follower-count limit in its YouTube phone-streaming guide. That does not override YouTube’s eligibility rules: your channel must be able to livestream, and mobile eligibility requirements may differ from other encoder workflows.
Check YouTube eligibility before setting up
As described in YouTube Help pages accessed October 3, 2026, a channel must be verified and free of live-stream restrictions within the previous 90 days. YouTube’s mobile guidance additionally lists at least 50 subscribers, livestreaming enabled, and a possible 24-hour wait after first enabling the feature. It specifies Android 8.0+ or iOS 8+ device requirements. These are mobile requirements; do not assume they apply identically to every encoder method. Check YouTube’s current mobile live-streaming requirements and general live-streaming setup requirements before a scheduled broadcast.

Stream a prerecorded video with a computer encoder
A computer encoder is the do-it-yourself route when the source is an existing file. The exact menus and controls depend on the encoder you choose, so confirm current support for file playback and looping rather than assuming every program offers the same options.
- Confirm channel access. Verify your channel, enable livestreaming, and check for restrictions or any first-time activation delay in YouTube Studio.
- Choose and test an encoder. Use software or hardware that explicitly supports playing a local video file and repeating it. Check that the loop restarts cleanly, audio continues as expected, and the encoder can recover from a stopped or interrupted stream.
- Create the live stream in YouTube Live Control Room. Set up the event, then copy the YouTube stream URL and stream key into the encoder’s corresponding fields. Keep the key private; anyone who obtains it may be able to broadcast to your channel.
- Configure the file and output. Select the video, enable looping or repeat if supported, and set the output appropriate to the source and your connection. Check audio as well as picture. Settings and labels vary by encoder, so follow its current instructions rather than copying settings meant for different hardware or network conditions.
- Preview and test before going public. Start an unlisted or otherwise controlled test, check the Live Control Room preview, and verify the image, sound, loop transition, and stream health. YouTube recommends testing and monitoring audio and video quality in its encoder streaming tips.
- Plan for maintenance. Keep the computer, encoder, file, and internet connection operating for the intended duration. Decide who will monitor the stream and how to restart it if the software, computer, or connection fails.
Plan around YouTube’s archive limit
YouTube Help says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. It does not promise a complete archive for a stream that runs longer than 12 hours. If you need a complete replay, plan sessions shorter than 12 hours or preserve a separate local recording and confirm that it captures what you need. For a 24/7 channel, also decide how you will stop and restart sessions and check the stream between them.

YouTube’s encoder documentation also identifies Upstream.so as a cloud studio for 24/7 live video streaming. That listing alone does not establish its specific file-looping features, uptime, prices, or terms; verify those details with the provider before choosing it.
Copyright and channel-policy checks
Having a file does not necessarily mean you have the rights to broadcast it. Before streaming, confirm that you own or have permission to use the video, music, and other material in it on YouTube. Also consider whether a channel built around repeated prerecorded material complies with YouTube’s current policies and monetization requirements. A live technical setup does not make copyrighted or otherwise disallowed content permissible.

Troubleshooting
Streamlabs Mobile cannot find the prerecorded file
The documented mobile workflow covers camera and screen sources, not a confirmed local-video loop. Use a file-playing encoder or a hosted service that explicitly documents looping instead of assuming the app supports a file source.
You cannot go live
Check that livestreaming is enabled, the channel is verified, and no live restriction applies. If you are using YouTube’s mobile workflow, also check its subscriber and device requirements and allow for the possible first-time activation delay.

The encoder connects, but YouTube shows no picture or sound
Check the stream URL and key, confirm the correct event is selected, and inspect the encoder’s selected source and audio input. Use the Live Control Room preview to diagnose before making the broadcast public; test again after changing settings.
The stream stops or the loop does not restart
Check that the encoder’s file-repeat setting is enabled and that the media source remains available. Review computer sleep, power, network, and encoder recovery settings. A test that includes a full file ending and restart can expose loop problems before a long broadcast.
Streamlabs Mobile will not start a YouTube broadcast
Streamlabs’ support notice dated September 3, 2026 says previously reported YouTube mobile go-live issues were resolved. If you still see similar symptoms, the notice suggests trying a horizontal format or selecting an existing broadcast; check the current Streamlabs support notice for its status and instructions.
