Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFor a 24/7 YouTube stream, OBS on a suitable desktop is the more practical choice than Streamlabs Mobile—but neither app guarantees uninterrupted uptime. Streamlabs Mobile is built for going live from a phone, while OBS is desktop encoder software suited to longer-running productions. If you want prerecorded videos to loop without leaving a computer on, a cloud streaming service is a different option.
Which is better for a 24/7 YouTube stream?
Choose OBS if you are deciding strictly between Streamlabs Mobile and OBS for a sustained broadcast. A desktop encoder fits YouTube’s workflows for gameplay, overlays, external audio/video equipment, and more advanced production. Streamlabs Mobile is designed for phone-camera or mobile-game streams and quick, mobile-first broadcasts—not unattended continuous operation.
This is a workflow-based recommendation, not the result of a head-to-head uptime test. The official guidance does not establish a guaranteed uptime figure for either application, or compare them under identical conditions.
| Factor | Streamlabs Mobile | OBS Studio |
|---|---|---|
| Device | iOS or Android phone | Desktop computer |
| Typical fit | Phone camera, mobile gameplay, quick broadcasts | Gameplay, scenes, overlays, external equipment, advanced production |
| Continuous operation | Phone power, network, heat, and monitoring remain concerns; no guaranteed uptime figure is established | Computer power, network, encoder load, and monitoring remain concerns; no guaranteed uptime figure is established |
| Stream archive | YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived; streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured. Keep a local recording if the archive matters. | |
What each option is designed to do
Streamlabs Mobile: go live from a phone

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
A phone can be convenient when you are present and want to broadcast directly from a mobile device. That convenience does not establish that the phone is suitable for an unattended 24/7 stream. The device still needs sustained power and a dependable connection, and you should plan to monitor it. A power bank may help with battery capacity, but it does not solve the wider demands of continuous operation.
OBS Studio: produce a stream on a desktop
OBS Studio is desktop software, not a mobile edition. YouTube positions encoder streaming for uses such as gameplay, screen sharing, overlays, and external audio/video hardware. OBS can support a more involved production workflow, but the computer’s suitability depends on the encoder, resolution, frame rate, and scene complexity. A machine that can open OBS is not necessarily capable of encoding and recording the intended stream reliably.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
There is no single computer specification that guarantees a 24/7 broadcast. Test the exact scenes, capture devices, resolution, frame rate, and encoder you plan to use. A mini PC is one possible desktop form factor, but match its capability to that workload rather than buying by size or assuming any particular model is sufficient.
Can you stream on YouTube 24/7 from a phone?
Streamlabs Mobile can send a YouTube stream from a phone, but the documented mobile workflow is not a guarantee of unattended continuous broadcasting. Before planning around mobile streaming, confirm that YouTube has enabled the feature for your channel and that you meet its current requirements.

How to set up a more dependable OBS workflow
- Confirm YouTube access. In YouTube Studio, verify that live streaming is available for the channel and complete any required activation before your intended start.
- Prepare the desktop production. Build the scenes and sources you actually need, then test them at the target resolution and frame rate. Watch encoder load and verify that audio and video are correct during a sustained test.
- Configure the YouTube stream destination. In YouTube Studio’s live control room, create or select the stream and copy the stream URL and stream key. Enter these into the corresponding server/URL and key fields in OBS. Exact field names can vary by OBS version and configuration.
- Protect the stream key. Treat it like a password: do not publish it, share screenshots that reveal it, or put it in a public recording. If it is exposed, replace or reset it through YouTube Studio and update OBS.
- Run a private or unlisted test where appropriate. Check that YouTube receives the encoder feed, the stream is accessible as intended, and the audio/video look and sound right. Resolve issues before switching to a public broadcast.
- Plan for local recording and monitoring. If you need an archive, record locally and check that the file continues to grow. During the broadcast, check stream status, accessibility, and audio/video quality rather than assuming a live indicator means everything is working.
These precautions reduce avoidable surprises; they do not guarantee uninterrupted service. YouTube notes that a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured in the platform archive, and recommends a local archive backup.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why a 24/7 broadcast may not produce a complete YouTube archive
YouTube’s current archive guidance says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, while a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. Do not treat a continuous 24-hour broadcast as a reliable way to create one complete replay. If the recording matters, arrange a local recording or another archive workflow and verify the saved file.

- 【Press Down Firmly Every 30 Minutes】Use your palm or fingers to press the phone down firmly and check it's secure before letting go. Apply even pressure for a few seconds to allow the suction cup to adhere properly. To maintain the grip and prevent accidental falls, it's a good practice to periodically reapply pressure to the suction cup.
YouTube also recommends checking that the local archive file is growing, as well as confirming stream accessibility and audio/video quality. Archive capture and live delivery are separate concerns: a broadcast can be live even when you cannot count on YouTube to preserve the entire event.
Common problems and what to check
- You cannot start a mobile stream: Check channel verification, subscriber eligibility, recent live restrictions, and whether live streaming is enabled. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours.
- YouTube does not receive the OBS feed: Check that the stream URL and stream key in OBS match the active stream in YouTube Studio. Keep the key private; reset it if it may have been exposed.
- The stream stutters or the computer struggles: Re-test with the actual resolution, frame rate, encoder, and scene complexity. OBS’s basic compatibility does not establish that a computer can handle every workload.
- The broadcast is live but the replay is incomplete or missing: A stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured in YouTube’s archive. Use and monitor a local recording if you need a complete copy.
- Something fails during a long broadcast: Check stream status, accessibility, audio/video, network, power, and local recording rather than assuming the application will recover or that the stream remains healthy. The reviewed official sources do not establish comparative recovery behavior or guaranteed uptime for either app.
Or let it run in the cloud

It is a YouTube-only service for uploaded videos, not a camera broadcast.
- Upload a recording or build a playlist.
- Add your YouTube stream key once.

See StreamNeo for details, or start the free first day.
Copyright, reused content, and channel rules still apply
Using an encoder, a mobile app, or a cloud service does not change your responsibility to follow YouTube’s policies or to have the rights needed for the material you stream. Check the permissions for gameplay, music, video clips, and other included content before broadcasting. A 24/7 loop also does not by itself establish eligibility for monetization; review YouTube’s current copyright and monetization rules for your channel and content.
