Both Restream and StreamYard can send a live stream to YouTube. Choose StreamYard if you want to produce a guest-focused show in a browser studio with branded layouts and recording options; consider Restream if you want to distribute to several destinations or use OBS or another external encoder in your workflow. Neither is established as universally easier, more reliable, or higher quality: the meaningful difference is how you want to produce and distribute your show.

Which should you choose for YouTube?
Consider StreamYard for a browser-produced show
StreamYard is a fit to evaluate when you want to bring guests into a browser studio, switch layouts, add branding, and record a show there. Its plan page describes overlays, logos, backgrounds, clips, layouts, local recordings, and cloud recording, but those claims do not mean every feature is included in Free or Core. Advanced lists local 4K recordings and an On-Air webinar limit; confirm the current plan details for the feature you need.
Consider Restream for distribution or an external encoder
Restream is a fit to evaluate if you need its documented multichannel distribution tiers or want to feed OBS or other streaming software into a multistream workflow. Its browser Studio also offers graphics, viewer-comment interaction, and guest invitations. Confirm guest and chat caps in current plan documentation: Restream’s vendor-authored comparison material may not reflect current entitlements.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
If you only stream to YouTube
When YouTube is your only destination, multistream caps may not decide the purchase. Compare how you will handle guests, graphics, recording, and any external encoder, then verify that the plan you would buy includes those features. YouTube support itself is not a differentiator between these services.
Compare destination limits against your actual plan
Restream documents two simultaneous channels on its free plan, then three on Standard, five on Professional, eight on Business, and 25+ on Enterprise. The same help page says Facebook Pages, Groups, and custom RTMP destinations need a paid plan.

StreamYard says multistreaming is a paid feature. Its help page lists three destinations for Core, eight for Advanced, and ten for Business; its free plan does not include multistreaming. It also says users can send a stream to multiple accounts on certain supported platforms.
Count the actual endpoints you intend to use, not just platform names: multiple accounts on a supported platform may matter, and custom RTMP or Facebook destinations can have separate restrictions. Verify included seats and destination counts at purchase, as offers and plan entitlements can change.

Compare price on equivalent terms
StreamYard’s US-facing pricing display captured for this comparison showed Core at $44.99 billed monthly or $35.99 per month billed yearly, and Advanced at $88.99 monthly or $68.99 per month billed yearly. These are displayed prices from the page at the time accessed, not a guaranteed quote for every country or account; the vendor notes that promotions, seasonal offers, custom offers, and renewal terms may affect price.
The reviewed Restream help material explains plan structure and channel limits but does not provide a directly comparable current price table. Do not infer that one service costs less from these figures alone. Check the current country-specific checkout price, billing cycle, seats, destination needs, and feature entitlements before comparing totals.

What the available feature claims do—and do not—show
The vendors’ documentation describes their features and plan limits; it is not a matched performance test. It does not establish that either service has better stream reliability, lower latency, higher output quality, faster support, or an easier interface. Treat the choice above as a workflow-based recommendation, not a guarantee of performance.
