YouTube does not guarantee uninterrupted operation.
What you need before starting
- A verified YouTube channel with no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. YouTube says first-time music channels should complete verification at least 24 hours before going live, and streamers must be at least 16 years old. Check YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
- An encoder workflow: encoder software on a suitable computer or an encoder device. YouTube supports encoder streaming for productions such as concerts; a dedicated hardware encoder is not mandatory. See YouTube’s encoder setup guidance.
- A continuous program: the devotional songs and visual material you intend to broadcast, prepared and checked in advance.
- Permission or other valid rights clearance for each recording and composition, covering the planned live broadcast and any archive or replay.
Prepare the channel and stream in YouTube
- Verify the channel well ahead of the broadcast. Confirm that it has no live-streaming restrictions from the previous 90 days. If this is the channel’s first live stream, allow at least 24 hours after verification before the planned start.
- Open YouTube Live Control Room and create or schedule a stream. Choose the encoder option and follow the stream setup shown there.
- Copy the stream destination and stream key supplied by YouTube into your encoder’s streaming settings. Keep the key private: anyone who obtains it may be able to broadcast to your channel. If it is exposed, replace it in Live Control Room and update the encoder before going live.
- Use the destination and settings currently displayed in Live Control Room rather than relying on values copied from an old setup. YouTube documents RTMPS ingestion as an option in its encoder workflow. Review YouTube’s live encoder and RTMPS guidance.
Prepare the songs and visual program
Assemble the order of songs and the visual material that will accompany them. Check the entire sequence for abrupt transitions, silence, clipping or an unintended blank screen. The YouTube guidance cited here does not prescribe a particular playlist-looping application, audio level or 24/7 scheduling recipe, so confirm that your chosen encoder can play and repeat the program for the duration you need.
Test the actual program before the scheduled broadcast. Listen for consistent, intelligible sound without distortion, and check that the visual is present throughout. A test can expose production problems, but it does not establish that the live stream will stay online indefinitely.
Clear rights for each song and recording
“Assamese devotional” describes the material, not its copyright status. A composition and a specific performance or recording can have different rights holders. Do not assume a song is public domain or cleared merely because it is devotional, traditional, or widely shared. Confirm the rights for the exact assets and intended uses, including live transmission and any saved replay.

YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A match can replace the image with a placeholder, interrupt the stream or terminate it. If you have a license for third-party music, ask the rights owner to allowlist your channel through Content ID; a license alone may not prevent a live interruption if the channel is not allowlisted. YouTube for Artists recommends coordinating with a label or distributor when using copyright-protected music during a live stream. Start the broadcast and monitor it
- Start the encoder and confirm it is sending to the destination shown in Live Control Room.
- Check the stream status in Live Control Room before and after you start the broadcast. Verify the picture, sound and song transitions from the live output, not just from the local playlist.
- Keep an eye on Live Control Room for status changes or copyright notices. Respond to any notice according to the rights information for that specific recording.
- For a do-it-yourself setup, plan for what happens if the computer loses power, the internet connection drops or the encoder stops. Backup power and a second internet connection can reduce some risks, but neither guarantees continuous operation. The cited YouTube guidance does not provide a complete automatic-recovery recipe or an uptime guarantee.

The channel cannot start a live stream
Check that the channel is verified, that verification was completed at least 24 hours before a first stream, and that there is no live-streaming restriction from the previous 90 days. YouTube also requires streamers to be at least 16.

The encoder will not connect
Compare its destination and stream key with the current values in Live Control Room. Check that the key has not been replaced or exposed, and that the encoder is using the destination and protocol selected for the stream. Update the encoder if you changed the key.
The stream is interrupted or shows a placeholder
Look for a copyright notice in Live Control Room. A third-party-content match can interrupt or terminate a live stream. Confirm that the exact recording and composition are cleared; if licensed, ask the rights owner whether your channel must be allowlisted through Content ID.

The broadcast stops after the operator leaves
A local encoder depends on its host computer, power and internet connection. Check which of those failed and restore the encoder and connection. Backup power or internet may help reduce outage risk, but YouTube’s cited guidance does not promise uninterrupted operation or specify an automatic recovery method.
