You can keep a 24/7 Indian stock-market news broadcast live on YouTube by sending a continuous video feed from a compatible encoder—or a cloud playout service—to YouTube Live Control Room. YouTube’s encoder setup uses a server URL and stream key; it does not, by itself, turn a YouTube watch playlist into a live broadcast. You need a source or playout system that continuously supplies the program.
Before building the stream, settle two things: what you mean by “playlist” (prerecorded segments, a newsroom feed, or a market-data bulletin) and whether you have the rights to broadcast every element. For market data, those permissions can be as important as the technical setup.
What “24/7 playlist” means on YouTube
A YouTube live stream is an incoming broadcast feed, not simply a playlist of videos already hosted on YouTube. To run a continuous program, your content source must play or generate the video and deliver it to an encoder. The encoder then sends the feed to YouTube.
- Prerecorded rotation: a playout system cycles through video segments and supplies them as one continuous program.
- Ongoing newsroom feed: a live production source supplies updates as they happen; prerecorded material may be inserted if your workflow supports it.
- Market-data bulletin: a generated visual feed displays quotes, charts, headlines, or commentary. Confirm the rights to display and redistribute each data source before making it public.

Check rights before preparing the program
Market data and exchange permissions
NSE’s Data Sharing & Usage Policy covers the use, sharing, distribution, dissemination, display, and monitoring of NSE market data. It says commercial access is provided under a relevant agreement and that subscribers may not redistribute data except as allowed by that agreement. The agreement defines permitted use, handling, transmission, and end-user restrictions.
Do not assume that a quote visible on a screen, a paid data feed, or a broker subscription gives you permission to republish the feed in a public YouTube broadcast. Confirm the rights for the precise data and display you intend to use with the applicable exchange or provider. The NSE policy does not establish the rules for BSE, other data vendors, news footage, or every legal issue in India.
Video, music, graphics, and reporting
Clear rights for every element in the broadcast, including third-party reporting, music, video clips, graphics, and any underlying market data. A segment being publicly viewable online does not, by itself, establish that you can rebroadcast it. Keep records of licenses and permissions, and check that they cover continuous public streaming and the territories where viewers may watch.

Originality and channel rules
Permission to use material and eligibility for YouTube monetization are separate questions. A licensed or otherwise permitted program can still raise channel-policy issues if it offers little original value. Add meaningful reporting, explanation, or analysis where appropriate, and review YouTube’s current rules for live streams, copyright, and monetization before launch. Do not treat a 24/7 schedule as a substitute for editorial value or rights clearance.
Self-host a continuous YouTube broadcast
In a self-hosted setup, a computer or other compatible hardware runs the content source and encoder. YouTube’s general encoder instructions do not specify a minimum computer configuration, a particular encoder, or a tested mini PC; check the requirements for the software and signal chain you choose.
- Prepare a continuous source. Build the segment rotation or generated bulletin in a playout system that can keep producing a video feed. Check that transitions, end-of-file behavior, and scheduled updates do not leave the encoder without content.
- Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room. Create or schedule a live stream and select the encoder workflow. Follow the current prompts to obtain the YouTube server URL and stream key.
- Enter the ingest details in your encoder. Paste the server URL and stream key into the encoder’s streaming destination settings. Keep the stream key private; anyone with access to it may be able to send a feed to your stream.
- Set up the continuous run. Start the playout source and encoder, then confirm the encoder is sending a stable feed. Arrange reliable power and network connectivity, and decide how you will monitor the stream and respond if the source, computer, network, or YouTube connection stops.
- Check the preview and go live. YouTube says the watch page is created when the encoder begins sending content. For a scheduled stream, wait for the preview in Live Control Room and click Go live.
- Monitor the broadcast. Watch Live Control Room for the incoming feed and stream status. Check the public playback as well, especially after changing the source, encoder, or ingest settings.
Choose equipment for the actual signal chain
A digital market bulletin may need only a source computer and encoder; a camera-based newsroom workflow may need cameras, microphones, a mixer, and a hardware encoder. A mini PC is one possible way to run a local encoder continuously, but no specific model or minimum specification is established here. Check the encoder’s own requirements and account for your video format, processing load, storage, network connection, and cooling. A local setup depends on the power and internet connection at that location.

Choose RTMP or HLS only when your workflow calls for it
Use the ingest method your encoder supports and that suits your latency needs. YouTube’s HLS instructions describe a separate workflow: create a stream key with HLS selected and use an HLS-capable encoder. YouTube states that HLS has higher latency than continuous RTMP, so consider that trade-off if immediacy matters.
For HLS, YouTube specifies 1–4 second segments, TS segment format, a rolling playlist with no more than five outstanding segments, HTTPS POST or PUT, and no encryption beyond HTTPS. These are HLS-specific requirements, not settings to apply to an ordinary RTMP setup. See YouTube Help: Use HLS for live streaming for current instructions.
Plan for archives and long-running sessions
YouTube Help states: “All streams under 12 hours will be automatically archived.” That is a boundary for streams under 12 hours, not a guarantee that a single 24/7 stream will create a complete replay. If a full-day archive matters, plan how you will create and verify suitable segments, and check YouTube’s current behavior before promising a complete VOD.

- YouTube shows no incoming feed: check that the encoder is running, the correct server URL and stream key are entered, and the source is producing video. If needed, retrieve the current ingest details from Live Control Room and replace the encoder settings.
- The preview appears, but the scheduled stream is not public: for a scheduled broadcast, wait for the preview and click Go live in Live Control Room.
- The broadcast stops during a long run: check the source, encoder process, local power, and network connection. A self-hosted setup depends on all of them; define who will monitor it and how the feed will be restarted.
- The program goes blank between clips: inspect the playout system’s end-of-file and transition behavior. The source must keep feeding video to the encoder rather than waiting for the next item.
- HLS does not connect: confirm that the stream key is configured for HLS and the encoder supports the required HLS workflow and segment settings. Do not apply HLS-specific settings to an RTMP stream.
- The stream is live but a replay is incomplete: YouTube’s stated automatic archive behavior applies to streams under 12 hours. Verify the actual archive and use an appropriate segmented plan if complete replay coverage is essential.
- A data provider objects to the broadcast: pause the affected display and verify the relevant redistribution rights and agreement before resuming. A technical ability to send the feed does not establish permission to publish it.

Whichever setup you choose, account separately for any market-data agreement, content licenses, hardware or service costs, network requirements, and the people needed to monitor the broadcast. The available YouTube guidance does not establish a universal 24/7 operating cost or guarantee uninterrupted service.
Before launch, review the copyright safety checklist and confirm permissions for both the content and the data displayed. Then test the full chain—source, encoder or cloud playout, YouTube preview, public playback, monitoring, and recovery—before relying on it for a continuous channel.
