If you intentionally sent a Super Chat but regret the amount, the livestream you sent it to, or the response you received, YouTube says the payment is voluntary and non-refundable. The reviewed YouTube policy does not list a special exception for a 24/7 livestream. If you did not authorize the charge, report it through YouTube’s unauthorized-purchase process instead; YouTube Help gives a 120-day reporting window. Can I get my Super Chat money back?
Usually not if you chose to send it. YouTube Help describes Super Chats as “voluntary, non-refundable payments.” That applies to a Super Chat sent during a continuous livestream as far as the reviewed official guidance establishes: it does not identify stream duration or a 24/7 format as a refund exception. YouTube’s refund guidance sets out the general policy.
A request because you changed your mind, chose the wrong stream, or did not get the interaction you hoped for is different from reporting a payment you did not authorize. Use the route that matches what happened; do not describe an intentional payment as unauthorized.
How to report an unauthorized Super Chat charge
- Check the transaction. Confirm that you or someone authorized to use your account did not make the purchase.
- Report it promptly through YouTube’s official process. Follow the reporting link and instructions on YouTube’s unauthorized-charge page. YouTube Help states a reporting window of 120 days from the transaction; the page does not state a publication year for that deadline.
- If it was accidental but unauthorized rather than fraud, use the website refund-request route described in YouTube’s instructions. That is a way to submit the request, not a promise that YouTube will issue a refund.
- Keep the claim details. Save the transaction information and any confirmation or tracking details provided during the report.
Check who billed the purchase
The payment route can depend on how the Super Chat was purchased. YouTube says some newer purchases made in the Android app may be billed through Google Play. For an Apple-billed purchase, YouTube directs users with a payment issue or unauthorized Super Chat charge to Apple Support; its general guidance says Apple-billed purchases are governed by Apple’s refund policies and cannot be refunded by YouTube. Check YouTube’s refund troubleshooting page and YouTube’s iPhone and iPad purchase guidance for the route applicable to your transaction.

Does deleting a Super Chat refund it?
No. YouTube Help states that deleting a Super Chat message after a livestream does not result in a refund. Ending the stream, waiting for a 24/7 stream to restart, or asking the creator to remove the message should not be treated as a way to reverse the payment. YouTube also says a creator may end the live chat or stream before the paid message’s ticker time has finished, and Super Chats do not transfer between videos. What the 24/7 livestream changes—and what it does not
The reviewed official refund guidance addresses Super Chats generally, not a separate category for continuous streams. It does not say that a long-running chat, a missed message, or a stream’s restart creates a refund right. Apply the ordinary rule to the transaction: intentional payments are described as non-refundable; a charge you did not authorize belongs in YouTube’s reporting process.
