You can receive Super Chats on a 24/7 gaming music livestream if your channel qualifies for YouTube fan funding, the feature is available where you live, and the stream meets YouTube’s chat, video, rights, and monetization rules. YouTube says creators receive 70% of confirmed Supers revenue; that is a revenue share, not an earnings estimate. A continuous stream is not automatically ineligible, but repetitive loops and unlicensed music or gameplay can put monetization or the broadcast at risk.
What Super Chats pay for
Super Chat lets an eligible viewer pay to highlight a message in live chat. Super Stickers are a separate paid feature that surfaces animated images in chat. Both are fan-funding features, and viewers decide whether to buy them; having a 24/7 stream does not guarantee purchases. YouTube explains Super Chat and Super Stickers.
YouTube says creators receive 70% of Supers revenue confirmed by Google. This describes the creator share of confirmed revenue; it does not predict what any channel will earn per hour, viewer, or stream. YouTube’s Supers management guidance has the current wording.
How to turn on Super Chat and Super Stickers
- Qualify for the YouTube Partner Program and fan funding. You must be at least 18 and live in a location where the relevant feature is available. Check YouTube’s current eligibility requirements and supported locations; availability can vary by creator location.
- Accept the applicable terms. In YouTube Studio, accept the Commerce Product Module, or the Commerce Product Addendum if that is what applies to your account, and comply with YouTube’s terms and policies.
- Enable the feature in YouTube Studio. Open YouTube Studio and go to Earn, then the Supers section, and follow the on-screen activation flow. Labels or availability can change, so use the current Studio prompt if your account displays a different path.
- Keep the livestream eligible. Super Chat and Super Stickers are unavailable on age-restricted, unlisted, private, Made for Kids, or YouTube Giving fundraiser videos. They also require live chat or comments to be available. Check the individual stream’s settings before going live. YouTube lists these restrictions.
- Make chat part of the experience. Keep chat useful and acknowledge paid messages when practical. Supers are an optional viewer interaction, not a guaranteed payment. Do not describe them as donations or crowdfunding: YouTube says they are not donation or crowdfunding tools, and creators are responsible for understanding laws that apply to their activity.
Can a 24/7 gaming music livestream be monetized?
Potentially, but continuous operation alone neither qualifies a channel nor guarantees monetization. YouTube reviews channels for originality and may reject content that is repetitive or mass-produced. A static or interchangeable loop can therefore create a monetization risk; YouTube does not say that every continuous stream is automatically ineligible. Make the channel’s original contribution clear—for example, what is distinct about the gameplay, curation, presentation, or ongoing viewer experience—and do not assume that running a stream around the clock is itself enough.

There are several possible revenue routes, each with separate eligibility and obligations:

YouTube identifies ads, Supers, and memberships as possible live-stream revenue sources. Which route is available depends on the channel and feature requirements; there is no sound way to predict relative earnings without that channel’s own audience and analytics. Check rights for both the music and gameplay
A continuous gaming music stream needs a rights plan for every element it broadcasts. YouTube’s livestream terms require the creator to have the rights necessary to exploit the live content on Google services worldwide, including music licensing rights. A music track that is licensed in some context may still interrupt a live broadcast if the channel has not been allowlisted by the rightsholder. Archived livestreams can also receive Content ID claims after the broadcast.
Gameplay rights depend on the game publisher’s commercial-use permissions and on the actual content of the stream. Check the applicable publisher policy and your music licence before broadcasting; do not assume that owning a game or subscribing to a music service automatically grants permission for a monetized 24/7 livestream. Keep a continuous stream available for chat
Super Chat depends on viewers being able to use live chat, so a stream setup must preserve an eligible live video and chat rather than simply play a file somewhere. For a do-it-yourself setup, use YouTube’s live-streaming workflow and an encoder or playback system capable of maintaining the broadcast. Create or schedule the stream in YouTube Studio, select the appropriate visibility and audience settings, ensure live chat is enabled, and use the stream key in the streaming software. Before relying on it continuously, test the full chain—from playback and connection through chat and stream status—and check the active broadcast in Studio.
There is no setting that overrides YouTube’s Supers restrictions: unlisted or private visibility, age restriction, Made for Kids designation, a Giving fundraiser, or disabled chat can make Supers unavailable. Nor does an encoder remove music or gameplay rights obligations.

Troubleshooting: why Supers may not appear
- The Supers controls are missing in Studio: Check that the channel is accepted into the Partner Program, meets the fan-funding minimums, is in a supported location, and has accepted the applicable Commerce Product terms.
- Supers are enabled but absent on a particular stream: Check visibility, age restriction, Made for Kids status, fundraiser status, and whether live chat or comments are enabled. Any of these conditions can make Supers unavailable.
- The stream is interrupted or claimed: Review music and gameplay permissions. A third-party match can interrupt a live stream, and an archived stream may receive a Content ID claim later. Contact the relevant rightsholder about any allowlisting requirement.
- The channel is not approved for monetization or loses eligibility: Review the channel’s originality and repetition. Continuous streaming is not itself a stated automatic disqualification, but a channel built from repetitive or mass-produced material presents a review risk.
