To repeat Gujarati garba music inside a YouTube Live broadcast, loop the files in the source feeding your encoder. YouTube’s playlist Loop control repeats videos for someone watching a YouTube playlist; it does not make a live encoder’s outgoing feed repeat. For a multi-song local playlist, use OBS Studio’s VLC Video source and enable Loop Playlist.
Choose the kind of loop you need
- Watching a YouTube playlist: YouTube’s Loop control repeats viewer playback. See YouTube’s playlist repeat instructions.
- Broadcasting a repeating playlist live: The media source must repeat while an encoder sends its audio and video to YouTube. The loop belongs in the playback source, not in the viewer’s playlist controls. YouTube explains the encoder connection flow in its encoder setup guide.
Loop multiple garba files with OBS and VLC
This method plays local files in a chosen order. The computer running OBS, its files, and its network connection must remain available while you broadcast.
- Install OBS Studio and VLC. OBS requires VLC for its VLC Video source to appear. Match VLC’s architecture to OBS: if OBS is 64-bit, install 64-bit VLC. See OBS Studio’s Media Sources documentation.
- Add a VLC Video source. In OBS, select the scene for the broadcast, add a VLC Video source, and add the garba files in the sequence you want. Check that the files are available to the computer running OBS.
- Set the repeat and order. Enable Loop Playlist so the source restarts after it reaches the end of its files. Leave Shuffle Playlist off to preserve your chosen sequence. OBS describes Loop Playlist as restarting the source when it runs out of media files; both settings are documented in its Media Sources guide.
- Connect OBS to YouTube. In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room and create or select an encoder stream. Copy the stream server URL and stream key shown there into OBS’s stream settings. Treat the key as a credential: do not publish or share it.
- Start the encoder and check the preview. Start streaming from OBS, then follow the Live Control Room preview and go-live flow for the scheduled stream. Confirm the picture and listen for clean audio before announcing the broadcast. YouTube recommends testing and previewing the setup in its live streaming tips.
Loop one file instead
If your garba program is a single file, add an OBS Media Source and turn on Loop. OBS documents that this setting replays the file after playback completes. Use the same YouTube encoder connection and preview checks described above. The Media Source and VLC Video source controls are covered in OBS’s Media Sources documentation.
Check music rights before going live
Use recordings you have permission to stream. A track being available on YouTube does not by itself establish permission to rebroadcast it, and no particular Gujarati garba recording’s rights can be determined without checking that recording’s own terms and ownership.

YouTube’s live Content ID matching guidance says a continuing match can prompt a warning, replace the stream with a static image without sound, and eventually terminate it. The page also describes a special live matching program requiring global rights and exclusive ownership; those conditions apply to that program and should not be treated as a complete account of every copyright rule.

- VLC Video is missing in OBS: Install VLC; if OBS is 64-bit, use 64-bit VLC. Restart OBS after installation and check the source list again.
- The playlist stops after one pass: Open the VLC Video source settings and enable Loop Playlist.
- Songs play in an unexpected order: Turn off Shuffle Playlist and check the file order in the source.
- YouTube does not receive the encoder: Verify that OBS uses the server URL and stream key for the selected stream in the Live Control Room. If needed, refresh or replace the key in YouTube and update OBS to match; do not expose the key publicly.
- The preview has no audio or the wrong picture: Check the OBS source and audio meters, then preview again before going live. YouTube advises testing the setup rather than announcing before verifying it.
- The broadcast is interrupted after music starts: Review the rights for every recording. A Content ID match may affect a live stream as described above; changing the loop setting does not resolve rights issues.
- The local stream ends when the computer or connection stops: OBS’s local playback requires the computer, source files, OBS, and network to remain available. A cloud playlist service is an alternative when you do not want that local setup to run continuously.
