Muvi Live and YouTube use separate stream URLs and keys. Muvi’s documented setup sends an encoder feed into Muvi; to publish the same feed on YouTube at the same time, configure a second destination in a multi-output encoder or cloud relay. Do not swap the services’ credentials. Muvi advertises social-media integration that includes YouTube, but the available product information does not provide verified channel-linking steps, so the encoder route is the clearest documented method.
Before you start
- A verified YouTube channel with live streaming enabled. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, according to YouTube Help, so enable it well ahead of a scheduled broadcast. YouTube’s simulstreaming guidance covers channel readiness.
- A Muvi account with access to Muvi Live and permission to create a live stream.
- An encoder or cloud relay that can send outputs to both Muvi Live and YouTube. Muvi’s documented guide uses OBS for its Muvi destination; YouTube also lists OBS among software encoders. Multi-output controls vary by tool.
- Enough upload capacity for both outputs. Estimate it by adding the target bitrates for Muvi and YouTube, then allow roughly 1.5 to 2 times that combined total as upload capacity, following YouTube’s guidance.
Keep both stream keys private. Anyone who obtains a key may be able to broadcast to that destination.
Create a Muvi Live event and get its credentials
- In Muvi Dashboard, open Content Management → Content Library → Add New, then choose Live Stream.
- Select an encoding profile and category. Under Manage Source, choose Encoder or Streaming Software – RTMP, select the nearest location, and save.
- Complete the event’s applicable design, monetization, security, description, and advanced options, then save the live stream.
- In Content Library, open Stream Info for the new stream. Copy the Muvi Stream URL and Stream Key. These are for the encoder’s Muvi destination only.
Muvi’s official guide describes this encoder-ingest workflow: How to Livestream Using Muvi Live via Encoder – RTMP.
Create a separate YouTube live event
- Open YouTube Studio and select Create → Go Live.
- Use the Stream tab to create or select the live event.
- Copy the YouTube stream URL and stream key shown for that event. Enter these only in the encoder’s YouTube destination.
YouTube’s encoder instructions explain that the YouTube server URL and key belong in the encoder’s YouTube output: Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder. For an RTMPS-specific protocol reference, see Google’s RTMPS ingestion guide.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Configure the encoder to send to both services
- Add a destination for Muvi Live. Following Muvi’s OBS example, choose Custom as the service, then paste Muvi’s URL into Server and Muvi’s key into Stream Key.
- Add a distinct destination for YouTube in the encoder or relay’s multi-output settings. Use the YouTube URL and key from the YouTube event—not Muvi’s values.
- Check that each destination is enabled and that the same intended program feed is routed to both. Exact labels and controls depend on your encoder or relay; Muvi’s guide does not document a single-click dual-output setup.
- Review each output’s bitrate and your available upload capacity before starting. YouTube’s example uses 6 Mbps plus 4 Mbps for a 10 Mbps combined target and recommends 15–20 Mbps upload capacity (1.5–2 times the total). That is an example, not a universal bitrate prescription.
Start, verify, and end the broadcast
- Start the Muvi event from the dashboard and wait for its server to start.
- Start sending from the encoder. Check that the feed appears in Muvi and in the YouTube Live Control Room preview.
- When the YouTube preview and stream health are satisfactory, select Go live in YouTube Live Control Room. Monitor stream health while the broadcast runs.
- Share the Muvi player link, HLS URL, or embed code with viewers watching through Muvi. Share the YouTube watch page with viewers watching on YouTube.
- To end the broadcast, stop the encoder and end the YouTube event through Live Control Room as appropriate. Muvi distinguishes a temporary pause by stopping at the encoder from permanently stopping the event in its dashboard; use the dashboard’s stop action when you intend to end the Muvi event and avoid unnecessary streaming-hour consumption.
Can Muvi connect directly to a YouTube channel?
Muvi’s live streaming product page advertises social-media integration and says users can stream live audio events to social channels such as YouTube. That confirms a broad integration claim, but it does not establish the current channel-linking sequence, availability on every Muvi Live plan, or whether the feature publishes video in the same way as the encoder workflow. Check your current dashboard or ask Muvi support before relying on a direct integration. The separately configured encoder destinations above are the documented route for sending one feed to both services.
Choose a local encoder or cloud relay
A local hardware or software encoder gives you local production control and may suit a capable computer when control and quality are priorities. A cloud relay can receive one feed and distribute it to multiple destinations; YouTube says this can simplify setup, reduce load on a slow computer, and suit more than two channels, though it often requires a subscription. Choose based on the number of destinations, bandwidth, reliability needs, latency, local computer capacity, control, and cost. Confirm that the tool you choose supports both Muvi and YouTube.

Common problems and fixes
- YouTube does not show a preview: Check that live streaming is enabled and the channel is verified. If this is the first activation, allow up to 24 hours. Confirm the YouTube URL and key are in the YouTube destination.
- Muvi receives no feed: Confirm the Muvi event has started and its server is ready; then verify that the Muvi URL and key are in the Muvi destination, with the output enabled.
- One service works, the other does not: Inspect each output separately. The two platforms require separate credentials, and a multi-output tool must have both destinations configured and active.
- Both outputs struggle or drop: Compare total target bitrate with available upload capacity. YouTube recommends capacity around 1.5 to 2 times the combined bitrate; test under realistic network conditions and monitor YouTube stream health.
- You cannot find the same menu labels: Encoder and relay interfaces differ, and direct Muvi social-integration steps are not established in the cited product information. Use the tool’s current multi-destination documentation or contact its support rather than guessing at a channel-link workflow.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is to keep a prerecorded YouTube channel live, StreamNeo is a separate option: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It loops uploaded videos from the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at home. It supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream, and the first day is free with no card. Monthly: $9.99 per month. StreamNeo streams to YouTube only; it plays uploaded videos rather than going live from a camera. See StreamNeo or pricing. Start the free first day.
