Streamlabs Desktop’s system-requirements article lists Windows 11 or macOS 12 and later, plus 8 GB of RAM, as minimums. For a more capable setup it recommends 16 GB or more of RAM, a 512 GB or larger SSD, Ethernet, and specified CPU and GPU families. There is an important Windows-version discrepancy: Streamlabs’ requirements article and May 2026 Quick Start Guide say Windows 11, but its download page says Windows 10+. Check the current installer and support information before deciding whether an older PC is supported.
Streamlabs Desktop requirements at a glance
The figures below come from Streamlabs’ official requirements article, last updated April 8, 2026, and its Quick Start Guide, published May 20, 2026. The pages do not give identical minimum specifications, so treat each source’s column separately rather than combining them into a single definitive list.

Which Windows version does Streamlabs Desktop support?
Streamlabs’ official pages conflict. The system-requirements article, last updated April 8, 2026, and the Quick Start Guide, published May 20, 2026, list Windows 11. The current download page says Windows 10+. The available information does not resolve which statement should govern every installer or support case. If you use Windows 10, check the current download and support pages before upgrading, installing, or troubleshooting; do not assume the Windows 10+ line guarantees ongoing support for every version of Streamlabs Desktop.

Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The macOS guidance also distinguishes a baseline from longer-term advice: the requirements article lists macOS 12 or later as the minimum and advises macOS 13 or later for continued long-term support. The Quick Start Guide likewise lists macOS 12 as minimum and macOS 13 or later as recommended.

Can your PC run Streamlabs Desktop?
Compare your computer with Streamlabs’ minimums first, then use the recommended specifications to judge whether it is a better fit for your intended workload. Meeting a listed minimum is not a guarantee of smooth performance in every game or scene: Streamlabs says resource-intensive games or digital-art creation, animated overlays, advanced plugins, other running programs, and the computer’s hardware can all affect performance and settings.
- Operating system: Verify your Windows or macOS version against the current installer and the guidance above, especially if you are on Windows 10.
- RAM: The requirements article lists 8 GB as minimum and 16 GB or more as recommended. If you plan to upgrade, check your computer’s supported memory generation, maximum capacity, and available slots first.
- CPU and GPU: The requirements article does not specify minimum CPU or GPU models. Its recommendations name broad Intel, AMD, NVIDIA, and Radeon families, not a guarantee that every system in those families will perform equally well.
- Storage: The requirements article does not give a minimum. The Quick Start Guide lists 10 GB of hard-drive storage as a minimum; both sources recommend a 512 GB or larger SSD. Before replacing or adding a drive, check your system’s supported form factor and interface.
- Network: Streamlabs recommends Ethernet. Its 3.6 Mbps-or-better upload guidance is for 720p at 30 fps on most platforms, not a universal target for every platform or output setting.
Minimum versus recommended: what the difference means
Use the minimum column as a baseline, not as a promise that a demanding game, scene, or stream quality will run well. The recommended configuration provides more headroom according to Streamlabs, but the company does not guarantee a particular result for a specific game, overlay collection, plugin setup, or computer.

- Sleek 7-in-1 USB-C Hub: Features an HDMI port, two USB-A 3.0 ports, and a USB-C data port, each providing 5Gbps transfer speeds. It also includes a USB-C PD input port for charging up to 100W and dual SD and TF card slots, all in a compact design.
- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.
- Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
The most consequential gap in the official figures is that the requirements article leaves minimum CPU, GPU, storage, and network requirements unspecified, while the Quick Start Guide adds integrated graphics and 10 GB hard-drive storage under minimum. Those added entries are specific to the guide; they should not be read as a fully reconciled minimum specification across all Streamlabs documentation.
What to check before upgrading
- Confirm your operating system. Check the current Streamlabs installer and support guidance, particularly if the PC runs Windows 10, because official pages list different Windows baselines.
- Check memory compatibility. If you have less than the recommended 16 GB, identify your motherboard or computer model, supported memory type, maximum capacity, and open slots before buying a compatible memory kit.
- Check drive compatibility and space. If considering an SSD upgrade, verify form factor and interface. The recommended 512 GB size is a recommendation, not a stated minimum in the requirements article.
- Match components to the workload. Streamlabs’ recommended CPU and GPU families are broad guidance. Consider the game or creative application, overlays, plugins, and other applications you intend to run; no listed family guarantees a particular result.
- Plan for the streaming platform’s network needs. Streamlabs’ 3.6 Mbps-or-better figure applies to 720p at 30 fps on most platforms. Check the requirements of the platform and output you actually plan to use.
Upload speed and streaming quality
Streamlabs says an upload speed of 3.6 Mbps or better is sufficient for 720p at 30 fps on most platforms. This is guidance, not a universal minimum for all destinations, resolutions, frame rates, or network conditions. Ethernet is the recommended connection in the system-requirements article. For a target other than 720p at 30 fps, consult the streaming platform’s own current bitrate and connection guidance rather than extrapolating from Streamlabs’ figure.

When to choose a different way to keep a stream live
Streamlabs Desktop is a computer application, so it is not the same use case as a cloud service that loops uploaded videos to keep a YouTube channel live. If your goal is 24/7 YouTube playback of pre-recorded videos rather than a computer-based live production, StreamNeo is the first alternative to consider: it runs continuously in the cloud, supports uploaded video as-is up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, and offers the first day free.
Or let it run in the cloud
With StreamNeo, upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. The cloud handles the looping, so your computer and home connection do not have to stay on. Each slot supports any quality up to 4K 60fps as uploaded at one flat price, and StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month.
