You can broadcast an already-recorded property launch as a scheduled YouTube Live event by creating the event in YouTube Studio, sending the recording through an encoder with your stream URL and key, checking the preview, and starting the broadcast in Live Control Room. Tell viewers clearly that it is a replay. Scheduling creates the event page; it does not start playback or send the recording for you.
Before you schedule the replay
Check channel eligibility
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days, and the person streaming must be at least 16. YouTube Help states: “To live stream, you need to have no live streaming restrictions in the past 90 days and you need to verify your channel.” Check the channel’s current status before planning the event; eligibility is a YouTube requirement, not something an encoder can fix.
Confirm permission to rebroadcast the event
Review the recording for rights to every element you intend to retransmit: event footage, background or presentation music, slides, logos, photographs, and other third-party material. Permission to use an item at the original in-person launch does not necessarily establish permission to stream or archive it online. Resolve any missing permissions before scheduling.
Have the project claims reviewed
The available YouTube operational guidance does not establish which Indian real-estate advertising, registration, consumer-protection, or disclosure requirements apply to a particular project or replay. Ask the developer’s compliance lead or qualified Indian counsel to review the project claims and disclosures. Do not treat a YouTube broadcast as proof of compliance.

Choose a scheduled Live replay or a Premiere
A scheduled Live replay sends the prerecorded event as an encoder-fed broadcast at a planned time. You still need an operator to start the feed, confirm it reaches YouTube, and monitor the event. YouTube describes a Premiere instead as a new video watched with creators and their community; the official guidance does not establish that a Premiere is equivalent to an encoder-fed Live broadcast.
| Consideration | Scheduled YouTube Live replay | YouTube Premiere |
|---|---|---|
| What viewers see | A prerecorded event transmitted as a live broadcast at the scheduled time. | A new video watched with the creator and community. |
| What the operator must do | Start and monitor an encoder feed, then end the broadcast deliberately. | The cited YouTube guidance does not establish that it requires an encoder-fed stream. |
| When it fits | Use when the event should be presented as a scheduled Live broadcast and you can operate the encoder. | Consider when the intended format is a community viewing of a video rather than an encoder-fed Live event. |
Make the replay status clear in the title, description, and opening slate. This is practical guidance to set viewers’ expectations, not a special YouTube labeling rule established by the cited guidance.

Create and schedule the YouTube event
- Open Live Control Room. In YouTube Studio, choose Create > Go live. Create the event from the Stream tab, or use Manage to schedule it.
- Set the event details. Enter a title and description that identify the broadcast as a replay, then choose the planned date and time, privacy, and other available settings. Check the event details before publishing the watch page.
- Share the scheduled watch page. Scheduling creates a shareable page where viewers can visit and set reminders. It does not make the recording play automatically; the encoder feed must be sent and the broadcast started at event time.
- Retrieve the connection details. Copy the stream URL and stream key shown in Live Control Room. Keep the key private: YouTube treats it like a password because anyone with it may be able to send a feed to the stream.
Set up an encoder to play the recording
You need an encoder that can play a local video file into its outgoing stream. YouTube’s connection instructions explain how to send an encoder feed, but do not compare named products or establish local-file playback support for a specific product. Before the event, confirm that your chosen encoder and its current version can play the recording and send it to YouTube.
- Open the encoder’s stream or broadcast settings. Choose the local recording as the video source or playback file, using the encoder’s file-playback workflow.
- Enter the YouTube connection details. Paste the stream URL and stream key from Live Control Room into the corresponding server and key fields. Do not share the key in screenshots, public documents, or event communications.
- Choose secure transport where available. YouTube recommends RTMPS, its secure stream transport. Select the RTMPS server/URL if the encoder offers it and YouTube provides it for the event.
- Check the source and playback behavior. Confirm the correct event file is selected, its audio is audible, and the encoder is set to send that playback rather than an unintended camera or desktop source.
Test before the scheduled time
Start setup well ahead of the advertised start so there is time to resolve connection or playback problems without keeping viewers waiting.

- Start the encoder and confirm that Live Control Room receives the feed and displays its preview.
- Check the scheduled watch page and test playback on a phone as well as the event operator’s computer.
- Listen for clear, correctly synchronized audio and inspect the image for missing slides, black frames, or unintended content.
- Confirm the opening slate identifies the program as a replay and that the title and description match the event.
- Arrange for an operator to watch stream health and chat during the broadcast.
Start, monitor, and end the broadcast
- At the planned time, start the encoder’s file playback and sending process.
- Wait for the incoming preview in Live Control Room. Do not assume the stream is reaching YouTube just because the encoder says it is running.
- When the preview is correct, click Go live in YouTube for the scheduled event.
- During the event, keep an operator available to monitor stream health, audio and video, and chat. If the feed fails or the wrong content appears, use the encoder and Live Control Room controls to correct it rather than leaving the issue unattended.
- After the recording finishes, stop the encoder feed and end the stream in YouTube’s interface as applicable. Check that the broadcast has ended rather than leaving an unintended feed running.
Find and check the replay afterward
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. After the event, open the channel’s Studio > Live tab, locate the broadcast, and confirm that the archive is available and has the intended privacy setting. Check the resulting video as a viewer before sharing it as the event replay.
Troubleshooting common problems
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| You cannot start a live broadcast | The channel may not meet YouTube’s eligibility conditions, including verification or the restriction-free period. | Check the channel’s live-streaming eligibility in YouTube Studio and resolve any restriction before the event. |
| The scheduled page exists, but no video plays | Scheduling creates the watch page; it does not send or start the file. | Start playback and transmission in the encoder, verify the stream URL and key, then wait for the incoming preview. |
| The encoder runs but Live Control Room has no preview | The feed may not be reaching the correct YouTube event, or the connection details may be wrong. | Recheck the stream URL and key against the event in Live Control Room, confirm the encoder is sending, and select RTMPS if supported. |
| Preview appears, but viewers do not see the broadcast | The scheduled stream may not have been taken live in YouTube. | Once the preview is correct, use Go live in Live Control Room. |
| There is no audio, or the wrong picture appears | The encoder may be using the wrong source, file, or audio routing. | Verify the selected recording and its audio in the encoder, then check the incoming preview before starting the event. |
| The recording is not available as an archive | The stream may not have completed or may not meet YouTube’s stated automatic-archive condition. | Check the broadcast in Studio’s Live tab and its privacy setting. YouTube’s guidance says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. |
