There are two different ways to get involved: seek an invitation to YouTube’s invite-only Creator Community for creator-to-creator learning, or enable the separate Communities feature on your channel so subscribers can talk with you and one another. The first has limited access; the second depends on channel eligibility and setup.
Choose the kind of community you want

These are separate routes: enabling a Community on your channel does not enroll you in the invite-only program.
How to seek an invitation to the Creator Community
YouTube describes the Creator Community as an educational program, not a public sign-up scheme. Its official guidance says to watch for enrollment details by email or in YouTube Studio; creators who are accepted receive next steps. YouTube does not provide a universal open application form in that guidance. Read YouTube’s Creator Community overview.
What YouTube generally considers
YouTube says it generally works with active channels in regions where Community Partner Managers are available. Other general considerations include growth potential, no Community Guidelines strikes, no more than one unresolved copyright strike, and advertiser-friendly content. Creators are also expected to behave respectfully at events and workshops. These are not a guaranteed acceptance checklist: invitations are limited, regional availability can change, and access may be withdrawn if a creator no longer meets criteria or violates guidelines.

What happens after acceptance
The program begins with a bootcamp lasting up to 12 weeks, with weekly or biweekly sessions of 30–45 minutes. Sessions may be prerecorded if a creator cannot attend. YouTube currently lists tracks in YouTube Shopping, Channel Memberships, and vertical live. During intake, the Community Partner Manager reviews a creator’s content, goals, and audience behavior and assigns a suitable track; the listed tracks are not necessarily options every participant chooses freely.
After the bootcamp, graduates move into the ongoing Creator Community for continued peer networking, events, and group support. A Community Partner Manager provides group strategy and learning support, not individual account management or technical troubleshooting. For account problems, use YouTube’s support resources.

How to enable a Community on your channel
YouTube’s Android instructions say you need access to posts, must be over 16, and cannot have a supervised-experience channel, a channel with its audience set as made for kids, or a VEVO channel. Feature availability and menus may change; consult YouTube’s current Community setup guidance for the latest steps and platform-specific instructions.
- Open your channel page in the YouTube app.
- Select Posts.
- Tap Turn on my Community.
- Follow the Get Started banner to finish setup.
Once enabled, Community posts appear in the Community space and may also be recommended on surfaces such as Home, Subscriptions, and Watch Next. Subscribers can start discussions about videos and connect with one another. YouTube explains how channel Communities work.

Make the space worth joining
Start with a clear invitation
Publish a welcome post that explains what the space is for, then ask a specific question related to a recent video. For example: “Which strategy from the latest guide would you try first, and why?” A focused prompt is easier to answer than a broad request to “say something.”
Keep conversations active
- Announce the Community in videos and on your other channels.
- Post regular discussion prompts connected to your channel’s subject.
- Reply to subscribers and engage with their posts.
- Build shared traditions or recognize channel milestones.

Set expectations and moderate
Take an active role in the space. Use moderation settings to decide who can post or whether content is held for review, and consider appointing trusted moderators as the conversation grows. Channel guidelines can tell members to be civil, stay on topic, welcome questions, and avoid spam. As YouTube puts it, “Your guidelines tell viewers how to communicate on your channel.”
Custom channel guidelines communicate expectations; they do not automatically hide or remove posts or comments. YouTube’s own channel-guidelines guidance explains the feature, while the platform’s Community Guidelines continue to apply to interactions and content, including comments, links, posts, and thumbnails.

- YouTube Help Community: Look for answers and updates from TeamYouTube in the official help forums.
- Creator Support: Eligible creators can contact support through the Help Center or YouTube Studio chat; chat is not available to every creator.
- Creator education: YouTube’s Creator Tips and YouTube for Creators offer official guidance.
- YouTube Contributors: This is a distinct program for people who help other users, including by answering Help forum questions, supporting YouTube Music community members, or making explanatory videos. YouTube lists workshops, interaction with YouTube teams, and product or feature previews as potential benefits. The program is in beta and subject to change; it is not an application route to the Creator Community. See the YouTube Contributors program.
