There are two ways to make yoga sessions play continuously on YouTube, and they do different things. To repeat videos already uploaded to YouTube, turn on the playlist’s Loop control in the player. To create an actual YouTube Live broadcast from prerecorded sessions, use OBS to send one looping video or a playlist of local files to YouTube Live. The first is viewer-side playback; the second is a live stream.
Choose the kind of continuous playback you need
| Approach | What repeats | Best for | What it does not do |
|---|---|---|---|
| YouTube playlist Loop | Videos already uploaded to YouTube, in the playlist player | Viewers who want to watch a collection repeatedly | It does not create a live event. |
| OBS Media Source | One local prerecorded video | Broadcasting one class repeatedly as a YouTube Live stream | It does not continue if the computer running OBS stops. |
| OBS VLC Video | A sequence of local video files | Broadcasting multiple classes in a playlist | It requires VLC installed alongside OBS. |
| StreamNeo | Uploaded videos or a playlist, played from the cloud | A YouTube live stream intended to run continuously without leaving a home computer on | It plays uploaded videos; it does not broadcast a live camera. |
Loop an existing YouTube playlist for viewers
Use YouTube’s playlist Loop control if your yoga sessions are already uploaded and viewers simply need them to repeat in the YouTube player.
- Open a video that belongs to the playlist.
- Expand the playlist box beside or below the video.
- Select Loop. YouTube will repeat the playlist in that player.
This is the simplest option for uninterrupted viewing, but the repeat behavior is controlled in the viewer’s playback session; it is not a channel-wide live broadcast.
Broadcast one prerecorded yoga session with OBS
OBS plays the local video and sends its output to YouTube Live. Keep the computer running, the video file available, and the internet connection stable for the duration of the broadcast.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Confirm your channel can go live. YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. First-time live-stream activation may take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before a planned class or continuous broadcast.
- Create the live event in YouTube Live Control Room. Set up a stream and locate its stream URL (server URL) and stream key. Treat the key like a password: it authorizes an encoder to send video to your channel.
- Add the session in OBS. In OBS, add a Media Source, select the yoga video file, and enable its Loop property so playback restarts when it reaches the end. OBS Media Source supports common formats including MP4, TS, MOV, MKV, AVI, FLV, and WebM, on Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Connect OBS to YouTube. In OBS’s stream settings, choose YouTube or a custom streaming service as appropriate, then enter the YouTube stream URL and key. Do not share or publish the key.
- Check the outgoing feed before relying on it. Start the encoder, inspect the Live Control Room preview, and verify playback on the YouTube watch page and a mobile device. Check that both picture and audio are correct.
- Start the live broadcast. Once the preview is sound, start the stream in YouTube Live Control Room if the event requires that separate action. Keep OBS and the computer running while the broadcast is meant to continue.
Video quality and upload capacity
Use an OBS output configuration that your source and connection can sustain. YouTube’s encoder guidance recommends leaving 20% bandwidth headroom beyond the total stream bitrate. For example, if the outgoing stream uses 6 Mbps in total, plan for at least 7.2 Mbps of stable upload capacity. This is a planning calculation from YouTube’s headroom guidance, not a guarantee of performance; other household traffic and connection instability can still interrupt a stream.
Test the complete stream at the intended settings before scheduling a long session. Watch for dropped frames, buffering, audio clipping, or a mismatch between the source and output, and lower the output demand if the connection cannot sustain it.

Broadcast a sequence of prerecorded sessions
For several local yoga videos, use OBS’s VLC Video source instead of adding each file as a separate Media Source.
- Install VLC. The VLC Video source will not appear in OBS without it. OBS specifically notes that 64-bit OBS requires 64-bit VLC.
- In OBS, add a VLC Video source and create or select the playlist of local session files.
- Check the playlist order. Loop Playlist is on by default and shuffle is off by default, so the listed sequence repeats in order unless you change those settings.
- Connect OBS to the YouTube stream URL and key as described above, then check the preview and watch page before treating the broadcast as ready.
Prepare for a long-running stream
- Test ahead of time. YouTube recommends setting up in advance, checking the Live Control Room preview, verifying the watch page on mobile, and monitoring audio and video.
- Leave upload headroom. Keep about 20% beyond the total stream bitrate available for the broadcast, following YouTube’s encoder guidance.
- Keep a local recording if the replay matters. YouTube can automatically archive streams shorter than 12 hours. Streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. Make a separate local archive if you need a complete copy.
- Do not rely on DVR for a very long broadcast. YouTube says rewind capability may be limited or unavailable for very long streams, including those over 12 hours.
- Plan around the computer and connection. In the OBS workflow, the source files, encoder computer, and internet connection must remain available. A computer sleep setting, software crash, power loss, or network outage can stop the outgoing feed.
Check rights and label the broadcast accurately
Before streaming, confirm that you have the necessary rights for every part of each session: the instructor’s video, music, voice, and any other third-party material. YouTube’s livestream terms make the creator responsible for having the necessary rights, including music licensing rights for worldwide exploitation on Google services. Live content must also comply with YouTube’s Community Guidelines and terms.

Make the playlist and live-event title and description match what viewers will see. If the broadcast consists of recorded yoga sessions, identify it as prerecorded rather than implying that an instructor is teaching live. YouTube’s playlist rules prohibit misleading viewers about playlist contents.
Troubleshooting common problems
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check or do |
|---|---|---|
| Loop is not available or the playlist does not repeat | The viewer is not using the playlist player, or the videos are not part of the playlist being played. | Open a video within the playlist, expand the playlist box, and select Loop. |
| OBS does not show VLC Video | VLC is missing or its architecture does not match OBS. | Install VLC; if using 64-bit OBS, install 64-bit VLC. |
| The video ends instead of restarting | Loop is not enabled on the Media Source. | Open the Media Source properties and enable Loop. |
| YouTube does not receive the OBS feed | The stream URL or key may be incorrect, or live streaming may not yet be enabled for the channel. | Confirm the server URL and key in YouTube Live Control Room and OBS. Check channel eligibility and allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation. |
| Preview stutters or drops frames | The upload connection may not have enough stable capacity for the full bitrate, including overhead. | Check OBS and YouTube preview status, reduce the stream bitrate if needed, and preserve YouTube’s recommended 20% upload headroom. |
| A long stream has no complete replay | YouTube may not archive streams longer than 12 hours, and DVR rewind may be limited for very long streams. | Keep a separate local recording when complete retention matters. |
