You can run a 24/7 deep house radio stream by using OBS Studio to send a continuous audio-and-visual program to YouTube Live. First verify that your channel is eligible to livestream, clear the rights for every track and visual, create a YouTube broadcast, and connect OBS with the matching stream key or its YouTube integration. A 24/7 setup also needs a plan for computer uptime, reconnects, and a separate archive: YouTube’s production guide says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived and advises recording longer streams separately.
Before you build the stream
Check YouTube Live eligibility
Verify your YouTube channel and check its current Live access before scheduling a launch. YouTube says a channel must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days, and creators must be at least 16 years old to livestream. See YouTube’s live-streaming access requirements.
Clear the music and visuals
Make a rights list for every track, cover image, animation, video loop, and other asset in the program. Confirm that the permissions cover YouTube live transmission, the territories you intend to reach, rebroadcasts, and any video-on-demand archive. Owning a download or having permission to play a track privately does not by itself establish these rights.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. Even if you have a license, the rights holder may need to allowlist your channel through Content ID; otherwise, a stream can be interrupted. Confirm the rights holder’s Content ID process as well as the scope of the license. YouTube explains its approach in its copyright guidance for live streams and YouTube for Artists.

Choose your operating and archive plan
OBS must remain running on a computer connected to the internet for the stream to continue. The reviewed official setup guidance does not establish a minimum hardware specification or guarantee 24/7 uptime, so test the machine and connection you plan to use. Decide who will monitor the stream and how you will restart OBS or reconnect if the computer, network, encoder, or YouTube connection fails.
Do not rely on YouTube’s automatic archive for a continuous 24/7 broadcast. YouTube’s live-stream production guide says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived and advises recording streams longer than 12 hours separately, then uploading the recording manually. If you need a complete replay, plan and test a separate recording workflow.

Set up the 24/7 stream in OBS
1. Prepare a continuous program
Arrange the cleared music and visuals into a program that can keep playing without intervention. Check that playback does not stop at the end of a file or playlist, and confirm that all transitions, overlays, and audio sources behave as intended. Keep a record of the rights and permissions associated with each asset.
2. Create or schedule the YouTube broadcast
- Open YouTube Studio and go to the Live Control Room.
- Create a new stream or select one you have scheduled. Set its title, description, privacy, thumbnail, and other broadcast details.
- Copy the stream key for that broadcast if you are connecting OBS manually. Treat the key like a password: do not publish or share it, and check that OBS uses the key belonging to the broadcast you intend to send.
YouTube’s production guide covers creating a broadcast and connecting an encoder. A scheduled stream lets you prepare the broadcast in advance; an immediate broadcast avoids a scheduling step. In either case, make sure the signal and the selected YouTube broadcast match.

3. Connect OBS to YouTube
OBS provides a YouTube integration that can connect your account and let you select or create a broadcast. Alternatively, configure YouTube as the streaming service using the RTMPS option and enter the matching stream key. The OBS project’s streaming guide describes the account and broadcast flow; interface labels can change, so follow the labels in your installed OBS version.
- In OBS, connect your YouTube account through the YouTube service integration, or select the YouTube RTMPS service and enter the stream key.
- Check that OBS is sending to the intended broadcast, not an older scheduled stream.
- Start streaming from OBS and wait for YouTube’s Live Control Room to show the incoming signal and preview.
- Confirm the broadcast’s privacy and start state in YouTube before making it public.
4. Test the actual viewer experience
Before a public launch, run a private or unlisted test. Listen to the stream in YouTube playback rather than relying only on OBS’s meters: check for silence, clipping, unexpected pauses, excessive gaps, and audio that falls out of sync with visuals. Confirm that the preview appears in the correct broadcast and that the connection remains stable. The cited setup sources do not establish recommended bitrate, resolution, keyframe interval, or a minimum computer specification for this particular 24/7 music setup, so do not assume a universal setting; use current guidance for your chosen OBS and YouTube configuration and validate it with a test.

Keep the channel running and recover from interruptions
Monitor the encoder and broadcast
A 24/7 stream depends on a continuous incoming signal. Monitor OBS and YouTube’s Live Control Room for a stopped encoder, a missing preview, or a broadcast that has ended. Plan how an operator will respond outside normal working hours; the official setup sources do not promise uninterrupted service from OBS, a home connection, or YouTube.
Plan for reconnects and broadcast stops
OBS’s broadcast controls include start/stop and auto-stop behavior, and YouTube notes that broadcasts may end after several hours without an incoming stream. Review the current controls in your OBS version and the behavior of the selected YouTube broadcast. Test what happens if the connection drops, OBS restarts, or the broadcast stops, and document the steps needed to restore the signal. Do not assume a reconnect will preserve the same live event or produce a complete archive.

Record long streams separately
If you need a replay of a program running longer than 12 hours, make a separate recording and upload it manually as YouTube advises. Check available disk space, recording continuity, and whether the resulting file can be uploaded before relying on this as your archive. Keep live-stream permission and on-demand permission distinct when confirming music rights.
Troubleshooting common setup problems
- YouTube does not show an incoming signal: Check that OBS is connected to the correct YouTube account or RTMPS service and that the stream key matches the selected broadcast. Confirm OBS is actually streaming and that the broadcast has not ended.
- The preview is present but the public stream is unavailable: Check the broadcast’s privacy and start state in the Live Control Room, then confirm you are acting on the intended scheduled or immediate broadcast.
- The stream is interrupted over a track: Review YouTube’s copyright notice and the track’s permissions. Ask the rights holder whether your channel must be allowlisted through Content ID; a license alone may not prevent an interruption.
- The audio or visuals stop while OBS remains open: Check that the source or playlist continues past the current file and that the media source has not paused or reached its end. Verify the playback in the YouTube viewer stream.
- The broadcast ends after a connection outage: Check OBS’s broadcast controls and YouTube’s Live Control Room, then restart or reconnect according to the selected broadcast’s current state. Test this recovery procedure before depending on it unattended.
- A long stream is missing from the archive: A continuous stream is not a dependable substitute for a separate recording. For streams longer than 12 hours, YouTube advises recording separately and uploading manually.
