You can run Marathi bhajan music as a 24/7 YouTube radio-style live stream with an encoder, a playlist of recordings you have permission to broadcast, and a static or animated visual. Before you start, enable live streaming on your channel, configure the YouTube stream key in your encoder, test the audio and video, and plan for both music rights and the possibility that YouTube will not archive a stream longer than 12 hours.
Before you set up a 24/7 bhajan stream
Make sure the channel can go live
Your YouTube channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. First-time live-streaming enablement can take up to 24 hours, so do this ahead of your planned launch. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility and setup guidance.
Confirm rights for each recording
A bhajan’s devotional or traditional character does not automatically make a particular arrangement or recording free to use. Check permissions for the specific composition, lyrics, arrangement, and sound recording. Confirm that the rights cover the territories you intend to reach and both the live broadcast and any replay you plan to keep.
YouTube’s livestream terms say the provider must have all necessary rights for live content, including music licensing rights involving artists, labels, publishers, and other royalty participants. The terms do not establish the rights status of any particular Marathi bhajan recording. Read YouTube’s livestream terms and conditions.

Choose a route that can stay running
YouTube supports software and hardware encoders, and its encoder directory also lists a cloud-based option for continuous streams of prerecorded video. A dedicated hardware encoder is optional; no route removes the need to confirm music rights or monitor the broadcast. YouTube’s directory includes OBS among software encoders and names Gyre for cloud-based 24/7 prerecorded streams: YouTube encoder options.
| Route | What it means | What to consider |
|---|---|---|
| Software encoder on a local computer | Use encoder software, such as OBS, to send the prepared playlist and visual to YouTube. | The computer, encoder, power, and upload connection need to remain available. Monitor stream health while it runs. |
| Dedicated hardware encoder | Use a compatible hardware device to send the stream. | Check compatibility, operating costs, support, and recovery behavior. YouTube’s directory does not endorse a particular model. |
| Cloud playout | Use a cloud service to play prerecorded files continuously and send the stream to YouTube. | Verify supported media, playlist and visual controls, cost, rights workflow, and how outages are handled. |
How to set up the YouTube live stream
- Enable live streaming in advance. Verify the channel and complete YouTube’s live-streaming activation. Allow up to 24 hours for first-time enablement.
- Create the broadcast in YouTube Studio. Open Go Live / Live Control Room, then create or schedule a stream. Set its title, description, visibility, and audience settings intentionally so the public-facing page matches the devotional radio format you plan to run.
- Connect the encoder. In the Live Control Room, obtain the stream URL and stream key, then enter them in the encoder’s stream settings. Treat the key like a password: it lets the encoder send a feed to your YouTube destination. Do not publish it or share it with people who should not control the stream.
- Build the playlist and visual. Queue only recordings you have permission to stream. Pair the audio with a static image or a simple animation, and check that the visual is appropriate for the full duration. Test the transitions between tracks and confirm that no unlicensed music is included in the playlist.
- Set encoder output for a stable connection. Start with a resolution and bitrate your upload connection can sustain continuously. YouTube’s current guidance recommends 2 Mbps video bitrate for 720p at 30 fps; it recommends CBR encoding, a two-second keyframe interval, and RTMP or RTMPS. RTMPS adds encryption. The bitrate figure is a platform setting reference, not a guarantee that a particular internet connection will remain reliable. See YouTube’s live encoder settings.
- Test before the public run. Start a representative test with the actual audio, visual, encoder settings, and network connection. Check the Live Control Room preview and stream health, then verify that audio is clear and the image displays as expected. YouTube recommends testing and monitoring rather than assuming a configuration is working.
- Monitor the live session. Watch stream health and audio/video quality during operation. Keep an eye on the encoder, connection, and playlist so you can respond if the feed stops or the audio becomes distorted.
Plan for Content ID interruptions
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If it detects a match, it may replace the stream with a placeholder image and warn the creator; continued use can interrupt or terminate the broadcast. If you have licensed the material, YouTube advises asking the rights owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. An archived live stream may also receive a Content ID claim after it ends. Details are in YouTube’s guidance on live-streaming content restrictions.

- Review the stream and any replay for claims after broadcast; live clearance and archive clearance are related but distinct practical checks.
Decide how to handle replays and long broadcasts
YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, while a broadcast longer than 12 hours may not be captured. If preserving a replay matters, keep a local recording instead of relying on YouTube to retain the full 24/7 stream. This means deciding whether your priority is one continuous live watch page or complete replay files; a continuous stream does not guarantee a complete archive. See YouTube’s live-stream archiving guidance.
